Easy to order and arrived at right place on time. Beautiful soil mixture for my veggies.

The new yellow bag I have ordered this year is not a garden soil as I was expecting like in previous years. Customer service was good but delivery person wasn't friendly and is in a hurry. Bag size appears smaller and contents appears like a compost which is not ideal for my clay soil. I think I won't order this product again.

First time order. Didn't came on time. Has to call the number on email to know exactly when it is getting dispatched. The new blend soil has a bit of weeds but not too much. The bag was durable. The staff were nice. They delivered the product on the day the dispatcher say it would be delivered and not the day you requested as they have to group orders. The driver delivered where instructed to drop off. A bit expensive but I think worth it.

Went smoothly and gardening soil looks good. Fair bit of weeds but pretty easy to nip in the butt.

I was VERY DISSAPOINTED that they do not pick up the empty bags. What a waste, I will be looking for more sustainable solutions in the future.

I ordered this soil because it was recommended by a friend who has been using it for several years. I called to see how much was recommended and placed an order. (6 cubes were recommended). Once it arrived it was dropped off at my house and my husband abd I tilled it into my garden and added it to any raised beds we have and my neighbor tilled it into his garden. And I still had 1 1/2 cubes left. And once these bags are dropped off there’s no moving them so your stuck with them until they’re empty. And they aren’t cheap so there’s problem number 1 that I was over quoted and got way more than I needed. And my husband is not happy with the giant eyesore of a yellow bag sitting in our yard...
Problem 2- I had a chat with one of the reps through social media with all of the ways I can use the soil/ which he said for pretty much anything. And I was told I don’t need to add anything to the soil. I asked if I could use for some of my house plants and for starting seeds indoors and he said yes.... basically it has killed half of my house plants and it’s impossible to use for starting seeds inside. It gets hard as a rock and all the leaves turned brown.
Problem three- because it gets hard as a rock you have to constantly water it- which to me is not a sustainable solution, costs me even more money and more work. I called another rep about this and they said” oh well you will need to water it at least every other day and you probably can’t do it by hand and will need to install a sprinkler system that has a timer...” are you kidding me? So now I not only have to install a sprinkler system, but I had to order an electric water pump to pump the water from my rain barrel because I don’t want to water my garden with the chlorinated tap water... so this has become a big headache for me when it was supposed to be a relaxing hobby over the summer. And many of the seeds I started never even grew and it’s been a month. It says on their website: 4x the water retention of regular soil: with 4x the water retention of regular soil, drought and water restriction will not be as damaging to gardens and regular lawns. Conversely because it’s humus compost, soil 3 improves drainage in heavy clay soils...” this is the complete opposite of my experience with this product and what they recommend AFTER you buy the product.

Awesome! Very efficient process, timely delivery, excellent communications with clients on order status and delivery. Good value for money. Should provide more combination options of soil, seeds etc.

My bag came this morning and the employees were nice. But I got what looks like mostly manure not garden soil I paid for. I called and was told I could mix dirt into it. I don’t have extra dirt for this. I wanted garden soil for my greenhouse. I guess I own it now and need to shop around for a pile of dirt. I’m 68 and this misunderstanding will turn into a much needed workout in the hot sun. Too bad I don’t have a cheap cement mixer to help mix everything if I can find clean dirt. Keeping it is easier than stressing through returns and refunds for both parties.

I had ordered my soil January 2021 and picked a date that worked for me. Made arrangements for before and on delivery date for guys to wheel barrel soil into my back yard so I would be able to use my drive way. Had to send an email for my order to confirm the day before too only find out it was switched to 10 days later without me knowing. Super dissatisfied and disappointed she nice now I have to make other arrangements for help to carry my soil. Spoke to someone at the office and pretty much they don’t care!!!

Just in case you needed to know this, I have compared the composted earth I bought in bags from Richie's Feed & Seed this spring, to the Big Yellow Bags of earth I have bought in previous years.

The composted earth from Big Yellow Bag is by far superior and has more compost & far less weed seeds in it than the cheaper bags from Richie's do. The earth from Big Yellow Bag grows better vegetables (& a bigger crop) with a lot less weeds.

So this fall I will have to remove the earth from the 4 x 4 raised beds and spreading it over the grass in my front yard & just reseeding it with grass.
All that work & time & money for nothing this year.

Next spring I'll have to buy 2 more Big Yellow Bags and I'll refill my raised garden beds with the good stuff.

So if you were buying the bags of earth, instead of The Big Yellow Bag, like I did this year, just to save a few bucks, you may have noticed a lot of weeds growing & wondered about this.

Save your money. Save your back.

I recently wrote a review about a bag of soil that was not good . The company got back to me and we have resolved the issue. They stand behind there product.

A few years ago I bought a big yellow bag and absolutely loved it. This year I thought I would get another one since the old stuff I have still in containers is STILL great soil. I also have some spots in my lawn I wanted to top dress. As expected the order process was simple and the delivery was within a week GREAT! When I opened the bag I was disappointed to find a BIG YELLOW BAG OF STINKY MUD! I immediately emailed my complaint and quickly received a phone call apologizing that they had a lot of rain and I could either wait for it to dry or they would send a new bag in a week or two when they got a new shipment. I opted to wait... in the meantime I scooped out a few buckets full and dried it myself only to find that when it dried it turned into concrete! (I actually made some sculptures out of it) Well after over 2 weeks of waiting I reached out again and asked "how much longer"? again received a quick phone call, this time from "The Boss" who gave me a delivery date of May 4th (another 2 weeks away) by the 10th of May, I asked for a refund and to get this bag of whatever it's filled with out of my yard... with no reply, I put in a dispute with my credit card company and am still awaiting the outcome. Save your money

Fantastic service. The driver was extremely polite place the bags right where we wanted them. The product looks fantastic. I would highly recommend this company

I bought 3 bags from you the 1st 2 were great, the last one not so much. It had alot of little rocks in it. I would add a picture to show but there isn't a way to do it.

Yes there is bugs and weeds .I know it is from this soil the area where i did not use the soil has no weeds and nothing eating plants .
I did receive a call from yellowbag and she was surprised .I asked for refund and she said ok ,I have not seen a refund yet so not happy about that either .
Now i see from the comments i am not the only one .

I will start with the positive. Quick to order and the customer service when I called to order was great. The delivery person was awesome. He was sure to let me know if he was to place the bag in my yard it wouldn’t be good for my lawn and the machine he uses could hurt my lawn. Now the downside. The soil itself is odd, very clumpy and when dry it super clumpy. I also purchased bags of soil from somewhere and filled one of my raised beds with that as opposed to the soil from the big yellow bag and it has way less weeds growing. I’m not sure if the seed like things are seeds or not but it seems like they are the cause of it. I am also contending with cutworms and flea beetles. I have not had issues with those until this year. I read up on cutworms and it says they winter in soil, so I’m afraid they may have come with the soil. I can’t guarntee and of those things, the seeds or bugs, are directly related to the soil delivered but I do see a major difference since the new soil. In the future I think I will stick with the individual bags I get from other places.

I ordered a Yellow Bag ( 1 cubic yard - Invoice # 107672 ) of screened loam to be delivered on May 16th. Delivery was late, the next day, which wasn't a real problem, due to the rain. After laying down the 'loam' over my front and back lawns, as a top cover, with new seed, and watering I have discovered what this 'loam' really is. CLAY - at least 50 % clay and a horrendous amount of gravel ( I'm not looking forward to the fall and next spring having to rake out all the gravel ). I will now have to buy bags of top soil ( which I originally did not want to do - I wanted the convenience of sufficient loam, to apply it as needed ) to address the clay patches all over my lawns - it is smothering and killing the grass, due to the compacting nature of clay. I have had to rake out the larger clay lumps ( like concrete ) and transfer them to the compost bin.
Needless to say, this is more time and $ than I anticipated. I'm really p----d off. The product looks good when you shovel it out of the bag, but as you water and rake, it really poor quality becomes apparent. I will never go this route again.

Great Customer service ....great price.....delivery is hassle free. Don't know why anyone would want to have a pile of dirt dumped in their driveway when they can have the Big Yellow Bag delivered!!!!
