BikeFlights made my shipping easy

BikeFlights made my shipping easy. I had a bit of a snafu with the box sizing and the folks at BikeFlights clearly explained the situation and made what would’ve been an otherwise problematic situation a breeze. Can’t say enough about these folks behind the scenes. Shout out to Micheal Utley w/BikeFlights Claims, specifically for ironing this sticky situation out for me. They ride bikes too and know we’d rather be doing that than dealing with shipping issues. Thanks again and keep up the good work!

Meeting expectations

I’ve been using BikeFlights for years and have shipped over 100 high end bikes in that time. I’ve come to expect excellent service and a good price, considering the current high cost of shipping. I look forward to continuing using BikeFlights in the future!

Beware of future additional fees.

Shipping rates were pricey but
everything is with this economy.
What bothered me is I paid the initial upfront fee for the label printed it and shipped item.
Item was delivered and receive from buyer. I received an email saying that I would be charged $30 more based on the “actual” dimensions, yeah, I specifically entered the exact dimensions of the box.
I did not choose to pursue because unfortunately, I did not have pictures with the tape measure and did not want to bother the buyer.
I think this was illegitimate charge.
Bike flights email claimed this was not them, but UPS. Either way, I will try not to use bike flights in the future or recommend them.

We’re sorry to hear you were disappointed with the post-shipment adjustment. Dimension audits are performed directly by UPS, not BikeFlights, and additional charges can occur when the carrier records measurements that differ from what was entered at the time of booking.

We absolutely understand how frustrating that can feel, especially when you believe the dimensions provided were accurate. In cases like this, photos showing the package measurements are required in order for us to dispute the carrier adjustment with UPS. Unfortunately, without those photos, we are unable to challenge the audit results on the customer’s behalf.

Raised the price after shipping

Even after telling me that my bike box measurements were subject to surcharge due to the large size I received a email informing me they were charging me an additional 25% because the measurements I submitted didn't match the size.

We understand your frustration with the post-shipment adjustment.

To clarify, shipping charges are based on the dimensions entered at the time of label creation. After pickup, UPS may independently re-measure packages during their audit process. If their recorded measurements differ, they apply an adjustment directly according to their published rates—this is what results in the additional charge you received.

BikeFlights does not manually add or change these surcharges after shipment. These adjustments come from the carrier’s audit process, and in cases like this, supporting documentation (such as photos of the packed dimensions with a measuring tool) is required to formally dispute the charge with UPS.

We did respond to your inquiry and have not yet heard back, but we remain available if you would like us to review any supporting details you may have.

Although I scheduled a specific pick up…

Although I scheduled a specific pick up date, UPS did not show. Bike flights staff did not reach out for two days after that. UPS denied that there was a scheduled pick up. I had to request a refund of the scheduling monies. Bike flight staff indicated they were “ on it.”. I’m not sure how accurate that was. definitely an unsatisfactory experience, and the shipping was quite expensive.

In this case, the shipment was not handed off to the UPS driver by the store at the scheduled time, which prevented the pickup from being completed.

As a courtesy, we already rescheduled an additional pickup at no extra cost beyond your original pickup fee, and we have also refunded the pickup charge.

Honest review

The price was little higher than expected and for some reason I couldn’t ship it out on a Saturday or Sunday and I had to wait on my labels because UPS didn’t recognize address but was able to get ahold of customer service very quickly and was able to get my package out that same night. Other than that it was great! Live updates great coverage and made it safely in five days I will most likely use again tho!

Bike flights was timely and convenient and customer service made it right!

Bike flight was convenient and timely. The bike made it on time and was delivered to the residence even though I expected it to be held at the UPS facility. Make sure you round up the box measurements if you a box to ensure that they don’t give you are surcharge! Bike flights customer service was helpful and supportive.
