Bought a pork pie

Bought a pork pie, 2 sausage rolls, and large beef paste ,cost was £9,00 tried the sausage roll first and half way through found what looked like a bit of tooth/ bone put the remaining in the bin
The pork pies used to be really nice but everything has gone with pepper now and that hides a lot of issues, I will never shop there a gain

The staff were nice cakes fine, but ....

The staff were nice cakes fine. I've never seen dogs in the shop before. This time there was a small one, and two very large hairy dogs. Now I'm a dog lover and owner of large dog. I would never take her in there. Dogs shake themselves, expecially when it's wet. Spreading nose drips and slobber over the middle isle and fridge.

Enjoying my last sandwich rolls

I have enjoyed Birds’ rolls for decades and thought them worth the premium price. But the price has risen to the extent that they are now too much of a luxury, especially when taking into account the glaring shrinkflation.

For a bakery they sure make some claggy food…

For a bakery they sure make some claggy and clawing food.. I don't understand what people like about it; their cookies are £4.50 for 4 and they were just horrible to eat.. barely baked and not really tasting of much. Compare that to Tesco finest £2.60 for 4 cookies and they taste amazing. Clearly everyone finds the dithering staff too stressed and rude to do their jobs so you're certainly not paying for the 'experience' either so I just don't get it. I also think their meat based products are always horribly over-salted too

Stale cobs for Christmas

I have bought my 'Christmas cobs'from birds, for years, and have always been highly delighted until this year.
I ordered as usual to collect the day before Christmas eve, as my family come for a pre christmas brunch. There were only three cobs, out of the twelve large dinner rolls, we could use. They were stale at both ends and not fit to eat, most disappointed. Fortunately I had other cobs in my freezer, so brunch wasn't ruined, no thanks to birds

Disappointing

No hello, no thank you, no communication. I asked for black americano I didn’t check it until half way finished when I thought this taste funny, they replaced my half cup with a black half cup didn’t say anything just plonked it down. I would have given 1 star if it wasn’t for the nice cakes

Slow, inept, incompetent staff

Birds Bakery in Arnold Nottingham. Service was abysmal. Slow, inept, incompetent staff. They are completely overwhelmed by the till and the Just Eat alerts. Staff seem angry and incapable. It is lunchtime and I asked for a filled roll. They said they couldn’t do it because they didn’t have brown rolls. The shop is full of rolls! Eventually one of them figured out that they couldn’t do it with white rolls and not tell the till. I.Q. Of the staff is too low for a job serving customers. The Just Eat alert was sounding, and two of the staff were trying to shut it up. Then one went on to rant about it to a customer saying she was too busy to deal with it. There were three customers at the counter, the same number of staff behind it. If that makes them too busy it is a sorry state. Such a shame they spent a few quid on a refit recently. They won’t be here much longer.

I notice that it has changed in Burton but it is all bling… I used to love their pork pies and have queued early in the morning at Christmas to make sure of a couple for over the festive period. Thought I’d treat myself this weekend - what have they done to them? Recipe change for sure - way cheaper ingredients making a greasy, tasteless, soggy pie… won’t be queueing this year!

Visited birds in beeston today

Visited birds in beeston today. The cream doughnuts i bought were stale and not fresh as I had remembered. I am 70 years old and used to visit birds when I was younger and it was so impressive. Very disappointing that the cakes are not fresh.

Outrageously delicious food 😋

I cannot understand why there are so many 1 star reviews - is this the same bakery!

I recently discovered Birds Bakery and that you also do delivery is a bit of a nightmare for me as I want to order all the time! Your food is amazing and always delivered so fresh. I particularly love your caramel donut and your chia seed loaf but everything I have ever had is always delicious. I have only a couple of times visited the local shop (Mickleover) and the service on my first discovery was by a lovely lady who was really welcoming as I'd recently moved to the area. The second time it was very busy but the service was still very friendly. I love the story behind how the company was formed too. Don't listen to the naysayers - keep up what you are doing and baking such good quality and fresh foods 😊

I was served today by a wonderful lady…

I was served today by a wonderful lady named Linda. I have been served by her in the past and each time I am greeted with a warm friendly smile while asking politely how she can serve me. Once my order is placed, due to having a walking aid she kindly invites me to take a seat where ever I feel comfortable and she would bring the food out to me. She then adds at any time you need anything else like a coffee or something, sing out and I’ll organise that for you.
This kind of service is exceptional. I feel like I’m being treated as part of a special family and it is because of Linda I always return instead of going other nearby cafes. Linda thank you so much. I hope you get recognition for your service.

Just awful

Just awful. Revamped stores in West Bridgford promised a lot but on visiting to sit in: paper cups, paper bags, no cutlery, and the a flat white that tasted of nothing. How environmentally wasteful, we were told all Birds are now like this with throwaway cups. What a joke to pay extra to sit in. I’d go to Greggs any day over this experience and the higher Birds prices for a lesser quality product mean they’ll be left behind by the competition. Shocking.

Don't think it will be around much longer.

Due to family illness, we had not visited our local (Wollaton) Birds for over a year. Went for a treat - what a let down! Food and drinks OK but paper 'cups', no plates for our cakes or rolls.
Seriously?
Previously we did not mind the higher than average prices charged as the food always seemed good and the service was pleasant.
But we won't visit again after todays experience, may as well go to a greasy spoon, they won't have the fancy cakes but bacon butty and cuppa will be just as good, cost considerably less and they have real plates and mugs!
I presume this all comes down to shareholders divi again. Greed and more greed. Cut the quality/service and then wonder why it goes belly up.
Soon to be another sad loss...
