Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 49 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people expressed dissatisfaction with the products, citing a significant decline in quality over the years. Customers frequently mentioned issues with the taste and texture of items, describing them as bland, mushy, or like cardboard. There were also concerns about the actual content of the products, with some questioning if certain items truly contained the advertised ingredients like chicken or fish. Reviewers also felt that the pricing was too high for the perceived drop in quality, leading to a strong sense of dissatisfaction regarding value for money. Very disappointing

I used to love Birds Eye Batter fishfingers for a quick, easy and tasty dinner. I hadn't bought them for a couple of years and was so disappointed when I tried them again. Whatever they've done, the fish now has the texture of chewing gum and the product tastes disgusting. Total waste of money. I won't be buying them again and will he throwing out the ones I have left.

I have Autism

I have Autism and my whole life one of my "safe foods" was Birds Eye beef burgers. Yeah I know they're not healthy but I did like them and they were one of few foods I would eat. Recently though Birds Eye have done something to the recipe. The burgers no longer crumble like they used to when cut, they stay firmly in one piece, and they have the texture and consistency of RUBBER. I don't know what the hell it is anymore, it doesn't even taste like it used to. I can't bring myself to eat this atrocity anymore and cannot consider it a "safe food". I won't be buying birds eye products again. I am devestated because birds eye beef burgers was genuinely a safe food for my autistic self but now I can't trust it anymore.

Hot and Spicy rip-off

It’s Birds Eye hot and spicy chicken steaks I’m complaining about, I had to stop buying them.
1 they are or used to be chopped chicken
2 cost £3 a meal for 1 before sides
3 the quality is really bad now
You should be ashamed.

I used to enjoy fish finger sandwiches…BUT

I used to enjoy fish finger sandwiches and not having had one for a while, decided to buy some Bridseye Fish Fingers. Wow! what a shock I got, they really are now little pinky fingers, I couldnt believe the size of them.
Wont be buying those again!!
Why Birdseye and others have to try and pull the wool over their customers eyes, assume they are stupid is beyond me...smaller and higher prices!
Just to the honest thing and keep the same size and put 6 in a pack..simples! Instead of trying to con everyone.

Birdseye chunky fishfingers ugh, grim!

Birdseye chunky fishfingers ugh! The coating was too thick and chewy and the fish? What little there was in there was not pleasant. Mostly brown bits and pretty tasteless. Altogether a disappointing experience. I bought them because they were on offer but will go back to buying Sainsbury's Taste the Difference chunky fishfingers.

Disgraceful quantity reduction . Greed !

Birds Eye have reduced the packs of 32 breaded fish fingers, to a crazy 26 ! But they haven't reduced the price. Greed ! And should be ashamed of themselves, with the cost of living these days.

Birdseye not worth buying!

Birdseye not worth buying!

Birdseye products say on the front of their boxes made with 100% Chicken, but when you look at the ingredients it's 42% Chicken lol
That's the loophole that companies work from.
They mean even though it's made with 42% Chicken, the 42% is 100% Chicken, so what Chicken is in it is 100%.
They put 100% Chicken on the front of the boxes to fool you into believing it's 100% pure lovely Chicken breast so you buy it.
But in reality your Burgers etc are made with fillers and flavours and some Chicken, all put together as a big doughy slush and shaped into burgers or whatever else they make.
The result is a tasteless slop burger with hardly any meat content to it and just doesn't taste of anything and after a few bites you want to spit it out as it's so boring and bland.
But they make things very cheap and nasty but charge top dollar like Birdseye is royalty food and great quality lol
Birdseye food is rubbish living off the Captain Birdseye trademark as it's been around a while.

Birdseye have altered their Chicken…

Birdseye have altered their Chicken Shop Ultimate Chicken Burgers. They used to be proper chicken breasts in a crunchy crumble. They're now awful mushed up chicken with terrible crumbs. No wonder shops are selling them cheap. People will only buy them once.

Can't contact customer service. I only wanted to enquire about product availability for something that seems to have vanished but there's no email address. You either have to phone, or give a chatbot your shoe size even to use WhatsApp. I guess this company doesn't want to hear from customers - very disappointing.
