discourage people from appealing

I contested the decision on my Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) within three days of receiving the notice. However, the council took seven weeks to respond and ultimately rejected my appeal. The PCN amount should have been frozen or reduced during the appeal process since I submitted my representation within 14 days. Unfortunately, they not only refused this request but also increased the PCN to the full amount.

Additionally, their online system lacks the functionality to submit appeals, forcing individuals to go through the inconvenience of writing a physical letter, visiting the post office, and paying for postage. This situation suggests a deliberate effort to discourage people from exercising their right to appeal, which is a matter of public entitlement.

Useless!

Since June I’ve been trying to sort my issue out regarding my council tax ! It’s December tomorrow and still waiting, I sent several emails, some letters regarding my situation, and I feel like I just wasted my time with this company!

Appealed clean air fine

Appealed clean air fine, thought the cost of £60 would of been frozen until the verdict came through. But oh no not only was my claim denied it has increased to £120. As a bankrupt council I doubt very much anyone wins their appeal. Absolute robbing ba@#@rds!!

Absolutely pathetic

Absolutely pathetic! Failed bulk waste collection, no communication and still haven't collected 5 days after the collection date. Don't offer the service if you cant provide it.

Birmingham City Council

Failed bulk waste collection due to operational issues ( no staff )

Don't take money if you can't complete the job and let customers know when you have no intention of fulfilling your job.

Get rid of centralised call centres and make the yards accountable as these managers are getting away with poor service.

Also don't make customers beg to get thier money back.

Used another service and cost considerably more £146 instead of £35.70.

Online certificate application

Appallingly bad website / online service.
I tried to order a birth certificate and have it posted abroad (this concept seems to exceed their imagination....). Website kept refusing entries and breaking down, I had to redo it twice and in the end they wouldn't accept a MasterCard payment anyway....

Such poor customer service

Such poor customer service - unsurprising that they are bankrupt. Awful service, quick to charge people, extremely slow to respond and exceptionally poor with communication. I will never visit this place again.

News has said council is bankrupt.

News has said council is bankrupt.
80.00 plus to take rubbish from commercial to tip, half a wheelie bin in size of rags, old areosoles and bits and bobs, refused on phone or asked to take pics.

Seeing as how everything is recycled, and key word here is "workers" then organise each item for its next step in the recycling process. I am dumbfounded that as a businesses to make money from its recycling operations that goes back into the money system...
Euro was red tape apperently.

How many forms are needed to be filled out to take an item to be recycled?

Charged 2,000.00 for driving into Birmingham "clean" air zone though 4 times recently.

Have received a summons

Have received a summons to appear in court for not paying my council tax which is completely wrong, I have paid fully up to date and owe them nothing. After calling them I have had to pay a £75 pound penalty and the remainder of council tax till April just to avoid appearing in court.
Guess that's what we get for voting a Labour council in.
Seems odd that they can miss bin collections & never fill potholes on our roads & all we can do is suck it up. Totally incompetent, no wonder they're bankrupt!

Horrible council tax service

Horrible council tax service

Honestly couldn’t receive any worse service from birmingham council tax office. Called them to discuss some queries on Monday afternoon and the woman who took my call was very unprofessional. She couldn’t answer any of my questions and didn’t give my any useful advice, seemed like she didn’t even know what she was talking about. When I continued to be confused wanting answers for the ridiculous high council tax that seems to be very incorrect the lady literally hung up the phone on me as I wasn’t already waiting for over an hour to speak to someone. Absolutely raging and unhappy with the service. My email also didn’t get a reply till 6 months later, we are not pleased at all.

Birmingham City Council has shown a…

Birmingham City Council has shown a cavalier disregard for public money. With 21 of you on over 100k a year .with the council leadership that seems to fail to admit little or no blame. In fact they seem to act as it was a act of God its gone bankrupt. Rather then stupid and chronic mismangement. Now you will look to the rate payer to bail you out. When you should be in the dock for incompetence in public office.

Birmingham Shhty Con-Useless council

When a company as large as B.C.C doesn't have the decency to even reply to one comment here on trust pilot.

That shows you one thing...
That they don't give a S..t
And that's the bottom line they really don't.
The inner city is plagued with rats as big as rabbits, cockraoch landlords and cockraoch infested, damp, smelly, unkept, old excuses for a house.

The inner city streets meet you with the smell of 9 months worth of un-removed and untreated bin waste.
If the wind blows whilst you're out for a lovely walk in the street, you'd better wear PPE mainly eye protection to prevent all the dirty dust from entering you eyes.
Also a good knee high pair of Wellington boots, not because of all the rain we get, but because of all the human feces left behind and all of the thrown out rubbish from 1985... yes 1985. Plastic everywhere!
What else?
Ah... looking for a home or place to rent? From B.C.C?
WHOOPS...we've lost your 10 year waiting list application. Oh never mind you can always re-apply.

I might write a book about my experience in Birmingham City and the so-called council.
I'm sure there was some other things I wanted to mention, but hey! You get me drift!

As yes! How could I forget!
The AQI.
AIR QUALITY INDEX .
The air here in inner city Birmingham has the odd scent of burnt metal. They usually pump it out at night time.
But when they are really tired they just pump it out in the day. So I'd wear a gas mask if possible to protect you from the toxic fumes that can be smelt for miles.
Now I feel a lot better that that off my chest. I can sleep well now.
Birmingham S.ity Council thank you for nothing and you deserve the same you've given to all of your residents.
I won't touch down on corruption because I'm not going to continue this message.
But yes in a nutshell. Birmingham City really nice place to not visit.

I’m really frustrated at the neglect…

I’m really frustrated at the neglect from Birmingham City Council and the blatant lies they tell us. I’ve been a tenant in this house for over 10 years and they’ve let this house get damaged due to not ensuring that their contractors are doing an adequate job (which they are not. FORTEM). They ignore complaints made, they avoid their responsibilities as a landlord and they are ignoring my requests also. I can see that there’s something definitely some foul play going on between the council and their contractors as they say they have so many repairs jobs but whenever I want a repair, the workers either fail to turn up or they have to do the job again because they didn’t do the repair properly in the first place. This wasn’t an issue about ten year ago as they used to follow through with what they promised but now you cannot rely on them at all.
