I had to call Blackstar after having an issue with our Mini. They told me I would need to pay for the initial diagnostic report, but once I sent them the report, Blackstar confirmed it was covered by email. The payment was made quickly and the injectors were repaired.
Everyone I spoke to on the phone was polite and if the claim handlers weren't available, I would be called back later the same day.
I would recommend the service and will likely extend my gold warranty as I have saved lots on an expensive bill

I was a bit dubious after reading other reviews, but my own experience was actually very positive. Initially Blackstar couldn’t find my details, but it turned out they had not been submitted correctly by the car seller. The call centre answered calls quickly and responded to emails almost immediately. It is a bit of a faff to have to get quotes before the work is undertaken, but I appreciate there needs to be some kind of process. Once the work completed, payment went through quickly.

Would only give £100 for a £200 job, then wouldn't pay because the invoice wasnt for £100....because its a £200 job. The warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on. Theives, swindlers, scum. Avoid at all cost. People like this are the reason this site exists

Unfortunately, although by no means surprisingly they declined a claim under the warranty as provided by garage from which car was purchased. A simple claim for a faulty switch for electric window. My garage did carry out a diagnostic which was inconclusive but were convinced that the fault lied with the switch. I gave my garage the go ahead to replace switch which cured problem and my claim was swiftly declined as they had not authorised my garage. Funnily enough the company has also recently sent me an offer to extend my warranty which I will obviously be ignoring. Offering warranties with a policy and conditions that make it almost impossible to successfully claim feels like a scam to me. No good faith and no assistance whatsoever.

Scam company. Really rude cretin said I was unhappy because “I haven’t gotten my own way” verbatim. Absolute quality customer service, these cretins are blatantly used to arguing with people and don’t care what they say or how they say it.

Basically my air con was faulty and they said I needed to take it to a garage. I did and the garage fixed it, the creature from black star then said I had voided their terms of service and they wouldn’t pay for it because they had not authorised it to be fixed (what the hell). After talking with him for a while he then advised me an air con re-gas wouldn’t be covered anyway. So I’d basically wasted my time, or would have, had the garage not just resolved the issue there and then. He also gleefully stated that had he received a warranty he would have read all the terms and conditions on the provided leaflet, yeah sure buddy, of course you would.

He kept iterating that it’s the company’s terms of service. Like yeah cool man, it might be a term of your service but it’s a garbage term designed to snake out of things.

This is why people don’t buy extended warranty’s. Luckily mine just came with the car.

Complete waste of time, cannot even tell you which items are included in the warranty. I asked them if the NOX or O2 sensor are included in the gold cover and they cannot answer the simple question but instead refer back to warranty booklet which is unclear. AVOID AVOID AVOID. This company needs to get its customer service looked at and operate more on the good side and make everything clear. AVOID AVOID AVOID

What an absolute s*** show of a company my warranty payments will be getting cancelled asap

Theve delayed my payment by a full month, and the staff are less than helpfull

I spoke to Blackstar warranties regarding faulty nox sensors on my van. I had already taken my van to a garage where they told me the nox sensors needed replacing. Everyone I spoke to over the phone at Blackstar said that I needed to get a diagnostic report carried out to make a claim, which seemed fair enough. when I came to make the claim they emailed back very quickly to say these items weren't covered under my silver warranty (they said all items that would be covered where written in the booklet I received with the van).

If Blackstar Warranties could've told me over the phone that this work wouldn't be covered by my warranty then telling me to get a diagnostic report was a complete waste of time. These faulty nox sensors have stopped my adblue from working, which means a countdown has started and when it ends the engine will not turn on. In all the time that has been wasted, this could have been rectified a lot sooner.

I think somebody at Blackstar Warranties needs to review the process regarding claims as this has been a complete waste of everyone's time (and my money for a diagnostic test).

Awful - refused to cover a coil pack as it wasn’t an ‘ignition coil’ - it absolutely is, just packaged differently. I never write negative review unless it’s truly warranted, and it is here. I suspect this lot would do anything to wriggle out of stuff. Don’t rely on it if it comes with your car, and don’t ever buy anything from them.

This company is an absolute joke. After several conflicting conversations over a number of months I have given in and am now paying for the faults found following purchase on my daughters car.

If i could’ve give them 0 strs i would’ve! Wasted 250 odd pound for a paper that isnt good to wipe your ar.e with! The second time they refused paying for something that is clearly on the booklet! Frauds! If you see them avoid them!

This warranty is not worth the paper it is written on.
Failed wheel bearing 2000mls after buying a van and they would not pay despite the warranty claiming to cover wheel bearings.
Its a complete waste of money and just an excuse to fleece you.

Wouldn’t even give this company 1 star if I could help it! Gold cover but doesn’t cover warped brake discs. Make you pay for diagnostics knowing their going to knock back the claim! Hope every one of you loose your jobs when you get closed down because your making £0000!!!!!!

warranty cover and customer service are diabolical! You might Aswell take a warranty out on crisp packet you would get better service! amazes me how they will cover a massive engine leek or complete clutch but not a small part such as a wheel bearing! avoid at all costs! They don't know their a** form their elbow!

seeing replies like ''I am sorry that you were unhappy with the service received and that we were unable to provide coverage at this time. All of the items that are covered under your policy are listed within your warranty booklet and we must adhere to the terms and conditions.'' ........just proves how helpful this company really is!!, My case got closed within minutes they don't seem to care or even be a warranty cover company if you ask me!!

Avoid avoid avoid!!! Their customer aim is a farce, which is on their website!
Do not buy especially if you have an electric car!!
The claims department lie , as they told me “no policy on this planet covers everything on a car” yes they do , extremely disappointed, no treating customers fairly at all.
