Cheaters and Criminals
Cheaters, Criminals - get them off the radar and into jail!
Take the money immidiately off the credit card, cancel flights from Bucharest (their so-called home-base) and never refund the money.
Cheaters.
That this is possible in the EU in the year 2022 is a miracle and shows the credibility of the whole country!

Blue Air is a scam, avoid at all cost
They lure you with cheap flightsand then the hassle begins. You can't checkin online for free. You have to buy the seats Blue Air has selected for you in order to continue with the checkin. Blue Air is a scam, a business setup for frauds. Avoid at all costs. I have made several complaints and no replies. I can't understand how can they afford to operate from Heathrow. Probably from defrauding customers. Proper corporate thiefs
They sell more tickets than seats on…
They sell more tickets than seats on the plane, about 20% of the people from each flight are used as standbys and made to wait for the next flight in the airport.
They won’t answer the phone when you ask for the compensation for the minimum 12 hours waited in the airport.
Cancels flights, no refund
Cancels flights, doesn’t refund the money. A joke of a company. Glad they are going bankrupt 👍🏻
Poor check in - but a decent flight
I'm updating this after my experience of the return flight.
First the issues:
Blue Air have the most aggressive seat upgrade policy I've seen on any airline. On top of all the the typical budget airline tricks to try and convince you that you have to pay for your seats and book extra baggage, the website is totally misleading, allowing you to fill in all the passenger details before giving you a message that it is impossible to check in without paying for a seat! Your passenger details are then deleted, despite selecting the option to save them. You are told that the only option is to turn up at the airport desk 2 hours before the flight to be allocated a seat and airport check in is £13 per person! There is no information on the website and the only way to contact the airline at short notice is a £1.50 a minute phone line. What the airline doesn't tell you is that it is possible to check in and be allocated seats without paying if you do so on the same day as the flight (apparently you can also turn up at the airport without paying, but I wouldn't want to risk this). With this information, check in on the return flight was a breeze on the app (which is better than the website), with all the passenger details saved from the outward flight. I don't know if budget airlines have looked at how much money their aggressive and misleading approaches to additional costs bring in against the passenger goodwill they use up - I assume they figure they have a captive audience - but my experience of check in on return made me want to fly Blue Air again. My experience on the way out had me vowing to avoid them at all costs.
Luggage check in is painfully long. They had two staff at Luton checking in passengers and luggage for two planes. These only opened less than 2 hours before the flight so we spent almost an hour in the queue before they started moving, very slowly, taking another hour to check in our luggage. This delay was made worse because almost everyone on the plane was having to check in at the airport, luggage or not. To rub salt in the wound, the neighbouring EasyJet check in takes about 5 minutes.
Bring your own food! Strangely for a budget airline, the only food available was crisps and chocolate bars. Thankfully, my children were happy with a crisp dinner but these then ran out so some people got nothing. This could have been a result of the delayed arrival but better to be on the safe side.
Not directly the airline's fault but I waited over an hour for my luggage on arrival in Luton and baggage from other airlines was coming through quicker. One for the baggage company and airport but it's incredible that they can provide such a poor service. Not having enough staff is one thing but how hard would it be to provide accurate updates on how long it will take them to move bags from one part of an airport to another?
Now the positives
The planes I travelled on were clean and relatively new, with power sockets, USB chargers and pretty reasonable amount of legroom for a budget airline. They are also not orange.
The staff onboard were friendly and helpful. Which in the face of all the stresses they must be going through is a credit.
Just as bad as everybody else is saying
I can only confirm what everybody else is saying - one of the worst airlines you can find. Customer service is non-existing, you could talk with them for hours and hours but you will get nowhere. Refund is impossible although it's promised over and over. Even full flex tickets are impossible to change or refunded. So pretty much worst of everything.
Only buy tickets if you have money to throw out of the window and energy to spend on useless and endless conversations with their customer support.
0 star rating. Avoid at all cost!
Worst company ever!!!
Worst company ever!!!! Do not book a flight through them whatever you do! Got to the airport to be told that the original plane scheduled for the flight had technical issues so they had to send a smaller airplane instead which won't fit everyone ... They have randomly selected a group of people to stay behind (including myself) and only told us that we will be rebooked on the next available flight and that's it. No compensation and no reassurance around when this next flight will be! Despicable service once again!
How to get your money back
Had the same experience like many of you - my flight was canceled and it was impossible to make any progress dealing with the company directly. I managed to recover my money by opening a dispute with the credit card - Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi. They issued a credit right away while the dispute was active. I just received notification that the dispute was resolved in my favor. Do not try to get the money directly from Blue Air - you will only experience frustration. Open a dispute and the credit card issuer will deal with them. It's very disappointing that a company resorts to these tactics. I was born in Romania, and I was proud to help a Romanian company but they cannot be trusted.
Unfortunately I couldn't fly anymore…
Unfortunately I couldn't fly anymore because of health problems. Called the company 10 days before and they wouldn't give a voucher to use it later, their only option was me to change the date for additional cost of £160. I've paid £350 the tickets, money I lost because of their way to handle unpredictable situations. Very disappointed. I will never use again this company
DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY - HERE IS HOW TO GET YOUR REFUND BACK
I booked two flights with Blue Air on 4th April 2022, from Bucharest to LHR. The flight was due to leave Bucharest on the 10th of May 2022 at 16.40 and arrive in London at 18.05. On the 8th of April 2022 I was informed of a schedule change. Our flights would now be leaving at 19.05 and arriving at 20.30 in London.
On the 12th of April 2022 our flights were cancelled. I was informed of the cancellation by email. I submitted a refund request on the online form. I received immediate confirmation that my refund request had been submitted and I would receive an email when it is processed.
On the 26th of April 2022 and 3rd of May 2022 I continued to receive emails informing me that my flight was cancelled but no correspondence from Blue Air regarding my refund. On the 8th of May 2022 I submitted another refund request via the online form on the Blue Air website and received another confirmation that it had been received and I would receive an email once it had been processed.
Up until 12th July I hadn't received a refund. I had tried everything - Facebook messages, comments, another contact form.
I then found the email addresses for Oana Petrescu (Chairwoman of Blue Air), Adrian Ionascu (CEO) and others (including a customer care specialist for Blue Air Andreaa Boanca) and emailed a letter of complaint. I said I was disgusted this airline could operate out of the UK and our busiest airport, London Heathrow, that they lure customers in with low prices and then don't intend to actually fly them anyway. I ended by saying that I'd be writing a letter to Guardian Money.
Well, guess what? The next day my refund was processed. I received my money back yesterday.
Email to the company should be in the following format: [first name].[last name]@blueair.aero. I found everyone via Linkedin. It's worth a try!
WARNING
WARNING! Do NOT fly with this company! They changed my return flight 3 times already in less than one month without any explanation. They said I can apply for a refund but there’s no option to do that. When trying reaching them by phone, no one in answering and you’re being charged £0.90 per minute. Absolute embarrassment of a company. The owner was actually charged for fraud and put in prison for 11 years. No wonder..
Worst company ever.., big big scam
Worst company ever! Had a cancelled flight during COVID outbreak in 2020, and they have straight away offered my a voucher for the money without asking if I would like it or not! For two year I have been trying to contact customer service but no response whatsoever and I don’t think I will ever get my money back as the voucher is due to expire soon! If I could rate them with no stars at all I would! Worst company ever, would not fly with them ever again! Please everyone stop booking with them and get them out of business!
I’d rate them with minus if I could
If there would be a rating option with “-“ I would tick that.
Cancelled flight and no money back, although it has been 8 weeks. Received the cancellation notification 3 times, although submitted a refund request after the first. Makes it look as if you submit once and you’d think BlueAir records are then updated they in fact aren’t. Appaling having to wait this long for something that wasn’t provided and only created issues for the customer. What an utter scam of a business!
Cancelled flight.
Cancelled flight.
No refund. Customer Service is just unexistent.... i am afraid i wont see my money back at all...
Bigest scam ever!!!!
Flight got canceled no refund
Flight got canceled and can't get a refund for 6 months now. CS doesn't reply. Don't fly.
Shocking customer service!
The customer service for Blue Air is almost non existent. I purchased my ticket from Sky scanner and wrote my full name with a "-" as is shows on my documents. When i checked in, the app didn't accept the special caracter and forced me to pay for a name change. Since the beginning of May i am keep emailing blue air who are not responding to my emails whatsoever. They replied once pushing me to get a refund on the electronic wallet which i DO NOT WANT and saying that the full refund might take a while but since then they haven't responded with anything or to say that is being processed or anything. I want a full refund on my card as this wasn't fair. I have no idea how else to get hold of someone as they charge if you call them and they won't bother to reply to emails, just AWFUL.
I still have money to recover from them…
I still have money to recover from them since the pandemic. This a mockery, i dont understand how this company still exists, well actually i do now. Their customer service is inexistent,
DO NOT FLY WITH THEM, under any circumstance.
Booked my flight,they've cancelled it…
Ref. Number :95265 Blue Air didn't have the decency to reply and come up with some pathetic story. Booked my flight, they've cancelled it and 4 months later I am still waiting for my refund. Made in Romania as one would say, a crook behind an airline company backed by the Romanian Government whom doesn't do it's job, which is, just to remind them in case they've forgotten - not to be corrupt but to protect romanian citizens, citizens whom gave they're vote so they can sit comfortably and do nothing, ignoring the issues while hard working people are tricked, lied, used and abused, treated like "shait".
Shame!
