Ruined our vacation

Ruined our vacation. They entered the wrong dates upon reserving. Packed and ready several weeks later not knowing, went to get the address for the Hilton Resort... Account shows they reserved the wrong month. They tried to charge a cancellation fee. No other reservations were available. All day affair. Refused to return our money.

Our deepest regret...

We deeply regret our decision to invest in this timeshare. From the start, unexpected maintenance fees and hidden charges from an upgrade that was marketed as an improvement have placed a heavy burden on our finances. What we thought would be a chance to upgrade our options has turned into a source of continuous financial strain.
The situation only worsened with the addition of two credit cards tied to the timeshare, both carrying overwhelming fees. We are now juggling multiple financial obligations, including payments for the personal loan, the upgraded mortgage, and the credit card charges. It feels like we’re drowning in bills.
Adding to our frustration, the booking process has been nothing short of a nightmare. It’s so complicated and unhelpful that we haven’t been able to use the timeshare as planned. We went into this hoping to create cherished family memories, but instead, we’ve been left dealing with financial stress, canceled vacation dreams, and a constant threat to our financial stability.
Since February of last year, we’ve made countless attempts to close our account. Each attempt has been met with rejection, leaving us feeling hopeless and stuck in a situation we never anticipated. The process has been exhausting and disheartening, taking a heavy toll on our family’s well-being.
We strongly caution others to think carefully before committing to this timeshare. What promised to be a wonderful opportunity has been nothing but a source of regret. We are desperately seeking a way out and hope others can learn from our experience.

I would not recommend this company for…

I would not recommend this company for anyone's vacation. First, they put us in a completely different hotel that was 20 mins away from everything, when we were supposed to stay in the resort and go through a timeshare presentation. On the day of our presentation they told us that it was cancelled and that we would be getting an email about the cruise that came with our package. we have yet to receive that. Another issue is that they WILL NOT release our refundable deposit that we were promised in a "business week" it has now been a month, and they are blaming my bank for not releasing it. Safe to say, BlueGreen Vacations is a horrible company to deal with, and very dishonest. What was supposed to be a nice few days, childless vacation for my husband and I, turned into a huge disappointment, so much so that we decided to end out vacation early and checkout.

No Value, No Options, No Trust Left in Bluegreen

We deeply regret ever trusting Bluegreen Vacations. When we approached them to cancel our timeshare, we were directed to Adrian Pellegina, who instead pressured us into an upgrade. He told us our existing contracts had little value, but claimed upgrading would significantly increase our ownership’s worth. He even showed us fake examples of timeshares supposedly worth $100,000. That was false. Instead of helping us cancel, we were tricked into more debt based on lies. Now, not only are we stuck with something we never wanted, but Bluegreen also refuses to give us any real option to cancel. We’ve asked multiple times and received no path forward, just silence and continued obligations. This isn’t just bad service, it’s dishonest business. Bluegreen should be held accountable. Cancel our timeshare and refund our money. We no longer want any relationship with this company. We started this cancellation process on 3/10/2025. The first time that we want to cancel and got swindled into upgrading was 5/15/2023.
The last communication with them was on 5/1. At that time they told me that it was past two years and there was nothing that they could do. It still had not been a full two years at that time.

See TIMESHARE everywhere

We attended a presentation at Bluegreen with high hopes and excitement, thinking it would open doors to great vacation experiences for our family. However, the truth has been vastly different. The timeshare far exceeds what we would normally budget for vacations. Instead of making travel easier, it has limited our options and led to significant money issues.

We feel deeply disappointed, as if we were lied to from the start. Now, we are trapped in this never-ending cycle that could affect not only us but also future generations and family members. It's frustrating to think our children and grandchildren might inherit this problem.

In simplest terms, this experience feels like a "Scam" and "Fraud." It seems they exploited our vulnerabilities just to make a sale. We wish we had seen the reality of the situation more clearly back then. It's a situation we would advise others to avoid, based on our experience.

CAN EVEN USE AND ZERO HELP

Man - let me tell you! This whole experience has been a straight up curse. I thought I was signing up for something that would let me actually relax and enjoy some time off but instead it feels like I'm locked into something I can’t even use. I’ve only taken 1 single vacation since 2022, and the place they gave me? Super outdated, felt like I stepped into a time machine (in the worst way) But yet I’m still throwing money at this every month, plus these ridiculous yearly fees that they put on you and yes, they keep going up. But for what?? It’s honestly draining me. Both financially and mentally. I’m stressed out all the time dealing with this, to the point where I’m actually on blood pressure medication now because of it and them. That’s how bad it is and do I think it can only get worse? Absolutely. That is why I tried contacting them to help me be removed but they wont! And let me tell you too - trying to book anything is a joke. Either nothing’s available or what is available looks again like I am going back in time. I’m paying for something I can’t use and can’t get out of. It’s like being stuck in a trap, and no one from the company is even trying to help me out. No support, no accountability, nothing. This whole thing has been the worst decision I ever made. If they would have been truthful I would not have continued.

They don’t care what happens to you

They don’t care what happens to you, after you become an owner they will never let you out! I explained the hardship I’m experiencing with finances, my own health, and being the sole caretaker of my mom and they flat didn’t care! They won’t let me out, expect me to still pay for it even though I can’t use it! I can’t afford that, I had no choice but to stop making the payments so I can afford my bills to actually live. Make a deal with Bluegreen and you’re making a deal with the devil!!!

Feels like a scam

The timeshare presentation in Branson was nothing like I expected. Even though I had no plans to buy, I found myself feeling overwhelmed by the sales team’s aggressive presentation. They kept pushing me into making a decision and hyping up all the supposed benefits.
The whole thing dragged on way longer than I thought it would. Between the presentation and signing documents, I was bombarded with numbers and promises of a "great investment" and even a tax write-off. It all sounded appealing in the moment, but I didn’t really have the time to think it through.
Maintaining this timeshare has been more of a headache than anything else. The payments and maintenance fees have been a huge financial burden, and with my busy work schedule, I’ve barely been able to use it.
I tried to talk to Bluegreen about cancelling the whole thing, but they were not all that helpful. I’m going to keep trying. Maybe I will edit this if they are willing to help me later, but I just want people to know what they are getting into with Bluegreen.

SCAM

SCAM! There was a booking error that I called in to verify dates and extend our trip stay a day. They were never updated and apparently even though we were unable to attend the vacation as it got scheduled for June 4 instead of July 4 and have upcoming flights--apparently all the money we spent for the package and to extend our trip is just gone. Terrible customer service. So dissapointing.

I WAS FLAT OUT SCAMMED

I WAS FLAT OUT SCAMMED. I booked a vacation through a bluegreenvacations agent and DID NOT get to stay at a bluegreen resort. We checked in at the resort for the presentation, then we were housed at a secondary, non all-inclusive location about 15 minutes away. This happened to another individual here. We were set at a rundown Residence Inn location that had hallways that smelled like piss and poop. I gagged the entire time I was there. The room smelled like piss, the toilet remained clogged the whole time, the shower knob was broken and the water barely got hot. On top of that, I was held hostage at a timeshare-like presentation. That was supposed to be only 90 minutes, but I was held there for 150 minutes, because the man working with me refused to take no for an answer when I was telling him I wasn't interested and withheld my card from me to keep me there. He was very inconsiderate. I already expressed I couldn't walk around much due to having bone lesions in my back from cancer and he still drug me around. This had to be one of the worst vacation experiences I've ever had. I would not recommend booking with them. 0/10.

SCAM

SCAM. They lie to you and show you fake numbers of what you pay for yearly dues. They sell you with a tactic of pay now for cheaper vacations later. However their yearly fees are ridiculous and go up every year (even though they promise you that it won't). You also end up paying to use the "points" that you already pay for. You can't resell it either, even if they tell you to just "resell it if you don't like it". You can never find a place available to use the points that you pay for, so you have to pay more money to use them somewhere on their approved list that actually has openings. They HARASS you by phone multiple times a year to give them more money and HARASS you at every vacation you take to "sit for a brief presentation."

Roach problem at the hotel

I purchased a package through Bluegreen Vacations for a 3 night/4 day trip to Charleston, SC. The hotel we were in was pretty, however, there was a roach problem in our room. We opted to leave the hotel after the first night. Bluegreen Vacations refused to give us a refund even though we have photos of roaches on our wall and in the bathtub.

Scam alert

Absolutely lied to about everything never waste your time falling for this company if it has bluegreen in the title jest go the other way I did some math the price you pay for a room that's dirty and not well kept like a 2 star motel is around 270$ per night on a beach in daytona and if you want to used there amenities it's around 300$ a night you can stay there for 8 days out of the year for the purchase of 35,000$ plus 1500$ a year for maintenance fees and club dues and that gives you 10,000 bluegreen points average resort price in daytona is 190$ a night for a much nicer place but guess what the time share scam is past down to your kids or who ever inherents your belongings and yes they can and will put a lean on you if their maintenance fees and club dues of 1500$ a year is not met. So basically your stuck with this for the rest of your life do not fall for their sales tactics unless you have 100k to jest throw away over the next 40 years of your life and on top of all that you pay quadruple for a 75$ motel room dont fall for this they show you pictures of a Bentley and give you a golf cart with a dead battery jest find yourself a resort they all have much better prices and you can vacation at any spot in the united states for a much cheaper rate and you don't have to make these scam artists richer cause that's all they care about trust me you can vacation cheaper than there maintenance fees alone..

LIFETIME of debt

We are disappointed by our experiences with Bluegreen. Initially, we were assured that upgrading our points at The Lodge Alley Inn would be our final chance to enhance our vacation packages, supposedly granting us free stays and generous gift cards. Yet, each interaction seemed to bury us deeper in lies and fees. In 2023, during our time at The Fountains, we were led to believe that upgrading could cut our maintenance fee expenses and give us additional points. The offer appeared straightforward when the sales team told us about it, but it later became obvious that we had been lied to, again. We were left with financial burdens, including over $4,000 in maintenance fees, contrary to the assurance of only a $294 monthly payment. Furthermore, the so-called "free" airline tickets were denied upon booking, adding insult to injury.
When we returned to The Lodge Alley Inn in December to express our grievances, rather than addressing our concerns, they attempted to pressure us into purchasing even more points. The promise of converting points for greater value proved to be another empty gesture, as it resulted in higher costs than anticipated.
Our numerous efforts to raise these issues with various Bluegreen representatives only met with dismissive responses, with many claiming ignorance of the promises made to us. Now, as we attempt to cancel our account, we are met with the stark reality that our supposed 'lifetime of vacations' is turning out to be a lifetime of debt, with no apparent way out. We feel trapped, burdened, and regretful of ever trusting Bluegreen.

Bluegreen Vacations Not Recommended

Not Recommended. Bluegreen Vacations, which has now joined with Hilton Hotels, has failed to resolve the poor customer service of their company that tarnishes the reputation of their organization as a whole. This includes their Vacation Guides, their Owner Services, their Mortgage Services, their Customer Support, their Account Servicing, and their Club Services departments. Furthermore, we have requested transcripts of our many phone calls to Bluegreen’s aforementioned departments and they have refused to send these to us stating that the transcripts were for their records only. Had our experience with Bluegreen been what their sales pitch presented itself as, we probably would have enjoyed it, but that has been far from the truth. It's honestly been a very difficult process as we contacted each of the above-mentioned departments. Very soon after the purchase we realized the extent of the misguided information given us at during the sales pitch, so we tried to cancel it. We were just barely out of the rescind window when we contacted Bluegreen about cancelling. We have not been able to use it having been advised by a doctor that I should not travel for health reasons. I have offered to provide a written statement from my doctor that I cannot travel and they refused to do accept such documentation. So we cannot use it after owned with Bluegreen for almost a year without ever having used it, even if the ownership was as they explained. This had no influence on Bluegreen's customer service team as they said they will not cancel our vacation package, even though we believe they could have sold the package for much more than what we paid for it! I don't know what it would take for Bluegreen to let someone out of the program when the whole point is to travel.

Poor Communication

Our experience with Bluegreen has been extremely frustrating. It feels like trying to wade through quicksand. The service is unhelpful, and it seems like no one is really looking out for us. Communication is lacking; despite multiple attempts, we never received any response to our calls after leaving voice messages. We called Christie 7 times between April 15th and May 6th. The timeshare feels very manipulative, and all we want is to find a way out. We would advise others to stay away from Bluegreen to avoid similar issues. It's simply not worth the hassle.

Not at all what we expected

Our Bluegreen experience ended up severely lacking. Initially, we were excited about a weekend getaway that seemed affordable at just $200 with the added promise of a $125 gift card. The presentation was lengthy and the salesperson, while initially kind, became very assertive when we declined the offer. They knew exactly what to say to get us to cave in, such as implying we were making a mistake for our future family. After much persuasion, we ended up purchasing a timeshare we were told was flexible and beneficial for teachers like us. We later discovered restrictions that made it impossible to use due to our schedules.
We felt deceived when we could not use rolled-over points during peak periods, which are the only times we can vacation due to our jobs. Also, the supposed "free vacations" with RCI were never usable because of conflicting dates with our work commitments.
In a hope to resolve these issues, we attended another meeting, only to leave with a second timeshare we never intended to purchase. This added financial burden became more evident when monthly payments unexpectedly increased. Further complications arose with the upgrade post-Hilton acquisition, the costs soared – climbing from under $800 to over $1100 monthly.
The process has been frustrating, and attempts to cancel the timeshare are proving difficult. We set up a call with Donesha, but she never reached out. Overall, the experience has been far from the hassle-free vacations we envisioned. We urge others to be cautious when considering similar offers and to thoroughly understand the terms and conditions because you may not be able to get out of them.

Subpar Customer Service

Signing up with Bluegreen has been a frustrating experience. We've been attempting to cancel since last year, but there has been little to no response from their end. We have been trying to communicate with them but have had little success. There are a lot of missed calls, call backs, and voicemails, but for some reason or another, we are unable to connect. It's disappointing that customer service seems to be a low priority for such a large company. They really need to improve their communication and support for clients who are seeking assistance.

Miscommunication and Incompetency

The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing at this company, and there is a lot of incompetence and miscommunication. I have been an owner for close to 20 years. Paid in full on my account (until I did an upgrade two years ago) and paid maintenance on time. This year I had a financial hardship for a few months and couldn't make my full payment on time. I contacted the company and they were aware of the situation. I offered to make a partial payment but that was not acceptable. They told me the following month when things were better I could make the full payment which I did. Come to find out they terminated my contract in that short period of time despite what I was told on a recorded line and despite the notes I was told were in the file. There are people all over these review sites wanting to get out of their BG, some not paying for months, but they can't get out. I wanted to stay an owner, but they terminated me - it all has to do with the inventory that was backed to my points and the fact it was mostly paid off and premium inventory. They aren't the same company they used to be. Offered to reinstate but despite the fact they stated on a recorded line that all inventory attached to my account would remain the same, they switched it out with no notice and I only found out a month later when I questioned it based on what I saw online. We had upgraded for a reason, to get a specific unit and week backed to our points. I really have no trust in this company. No certified mail letters if they are going to take action on an account, you get a different story from everyone, and I have been flat out lied to prior to making a payment (on a recorded line).
They have gone downhill ever since Hilton acquired them, and shortly before that when likely they knew Hilton was going to acquire them. Despite maintenance fees almost doubling over the last few years - the service that we get is pitiful. And even when BG employees make mistakes, the customer has to live with them. They expect us to be perfect and never have a hardship for our whole life of ownership, but their service is less than perfect.

Title - Trapped in a timeshare

Our experience with Bluegreen Vacation Club has been frustrating and disappointing. We were initially attracted by the enticing offers of gift cards and promises of no maintenance fee increases, as well as the VIP membership perks. However, what followed was quite different from what was presented to us.
The orientation turned out to be an exhausting meeting lasting over 8 hours, during which we felt pushed into making a decision on the spot. We were offered family cruises as incentives to sign the contract, despite our repeated refusals. Unfortunately, we felt compelled to sign just to end the lengthy session and satisfy our hunger, only to discover later that canceling the contract was not an option according to the company.
They also told us if we no longer wanted the timeshare, it would be easy to sell. This was absolutely not true. Ultimately, we feel trapped in a situation we were pushed into and strongly advise others to consider carefully before engaging with this company. Ensure that you are fully prepared for the long-term commitment they propose, as the process for getting out of it appears to be quite difficult, if not impossible.
