Don’t make the mistake of signing up with Bluegreen. After years of being a loyal customer, I reached out to discuss exiting my membership. Their "solution" was to demand thousands of dollars just to... See more

To hear these heartbreaking stories and knowing the same thing happened to me in 2019. Honestly this is criminal level scam artist. There should be laws or protections in place for consumers for this level of thievery!! I have 1500 left on my so-called mortgage. I'm paying that lie off and walking away. A very expensive and painful lesson learned!
Bait and switch
They promise you the moon and back trying to get you to sign up!! Then, only to find out that they STRONGLY misrepresented us. Owners meetings are just an opportunity for them to pressure you to upgrade and tell more lies! We have spent probably $10,000+ on this membership, never used it, and they won’t let us cancel it. I’m working 2 jobs and can’t afford to take time off cause I’m stuck paying on this. The irony of how vastly differently this has affected our lives, as opposed to how they made us think it would, is absolutely appalling.
DON’T DO IT
DO NOT get sucked into their SCAM. Any price for their garbage is too much, and maintenance fees are outrageous. You can easily find and book a fantastic VRBO for a week for what your BG maintenance fees are. BG should be shut down. Timeshares/points based products should be ILLEGAL. Outlaw this, please!!!!
Our horrible experience with Bluegreen Vacation…
Our experience with Bluegreen Vacation Club has been a nightmare. We were lured in with a $300 gift card and promises of dream vacations and nationwide RV resorts, but it’s been nothing but lies and financial stress.
The "90-minute seminar" turned into 7 hours of relentless pressure to sign a contract we didn’t fully understand. They promised maintenance fees of ~$400/year (the first year it was over $750, this year it’s over $950), easy vacation booking (everything is "unavailable"), and the ability to roll over unused points (only half can roll over, and only with a $50 fee).
The "orientation" they promised was just another high-pressure sales pitch to upgrade our package. We’ve received no guidance on how to use the timeshare, and every attempt to book has been met with roadblocks. It's rare that they answer the phone to make reservations. Meanwhile, their billing department has plenty of staff and is quick to hound us for payments.
To make matters worse, we later found out the contract is in perpetuity—something they never disclosed during the rushed closing process. We feel trapped in a financial burden we can’t escape.
Last year around this time, we tried to access our online Bluegreen account to find we had been locked out of it. Bluegreen, through their subsidiary Pinnacle, sent us threatening letters that we were suspended for not paying our nearly $1000 annual fees but THEY are the ones who locked our account. They never sent us a bill for the fees, either. Keep in mind that we have been blocked from going on vacation at every Bluegreen resort since we purchased the timeshare in July, 2018.
If you’re considering a timeshare with Bluegreen, think twice. This has been one of the worst decisions we’ve ever made.
Absolute scam.
Absolute scam.
This is a scam. They sale you a property that is deeded to you for 2weeks. Charge you closing cost and call you a owner. Ownership is over after 2week you don't own property anymore. However, your responsibility as a owner doesn't end. Maintance Fees, dues and so on. I'm a property investor and this should be a criminal offense. They scam you. Air Bnb is much cheaper and better quality of property if you research a little
Lied To, Trapped, and Ignored — Bluegreen Sold Us a Lie
We were blatantly lied to during Bluegreen’s high-pressure sales process. We were promised low, stable maintenance fees and the ability to take multiple trips per year neither turned out to be true. Fees jumped over $175 in the first year, and nearly every time we tried to book, nothing was available.
We were also told Bluegreen would "take it back" if it didn’t work for us, that was a key reason we signed. Now, they deny ever saying that and offer no real exit except damaging our credit or paying even more.
Attempts to get help are met with deflection, pressure to buy more points, or being ignored entirely. We feel trapped, lied to, and gaslit at every turn. This has become a financial and emotional burden, not the family-friendly experience we were sold.
Bluegreen needs to be held accountable for its deceptive practices. We’re asking again: cancel our contract.
Avoid Bluegreen
Their sales people were unbearably pushy. Despite our repeated declines, representatives continued to push us into purchasing a timeshare with promises about securing our future and benefiting our children.
We were promised two free airline tickets to Miami and an additional 4,000 points, neither of which was fulfilled. The new owners' meeting was another attempt to upsell more points, confirming our suspicion that the entire operation is a scam.
Our trip to Miami booked through Bluegreen was equally disappointing. The accommodations were far below expectations: an outdated hotel lacking promised amenities and views, with underwhelming service. Their offerings don't align with their lofty presentation promises.
Using the timeshare has been a nightmare. The booking calendar is nearly impossible to use, restricting our vacation planning. Unexpected maintenance fees were sprung on us despite assurances of predictable costs. We've lost points unnecessarily, and the costs to keep them from expiring are unreasonable. The experience has caused significant emotional and financial strain.
Bluegreen refuses to cancel our timeshare. We’ve tried reaching out multiple times to be released and get a refund, but they’ve refused to cooperate, leaving us trapped in an arrangement we no longer want or can use effectively.
Avoid Bluegreen Vacations at all costs. Their high-pressure sales tactics, broken promises, poor accommodations, and refusal to honor cancellation requests make this our most regrettable investment. We hope this review helps others steer clear of similar financial and emotional
Trapped by Deceptive Sales Tactics, Still Paying After Years of No Use
We were pressured into a Bluegreen purchase in 2017 after being promised affordable, annual vacations and valuable family investment. Despite repeatedly saying no, we were worn down after hours of high-pressure tactics. What we bought has never delivered. Our points are useless, bookings are near impossible, and fees keep rising. We were told we could cancel or sell back points, but that was false. Now, Bluegreen, Resort Funding, and InnSeason all deny responsibility, sending us in endless circles. No one will take ownership. This has become a financial burden we can’t escape. It’s appalling that such deceptive practices continue, leaving families like ours paying for a dream that was never real. We simply want to be released from this nightmare.
Extremely misleading gifts for attending the presentation
We were invited to a timeshare presentation which we were familiar with and we were told that we would get a free cruise and a free meal and gas. We did get a Visa credit card to purchase a meal and we got a gas card. So that part was true. The cruise was not even close to free. As a matter of fact when I jumped through all the hoops, I still was told it would be $1,000 which was more than if I booked it directly myself with the cruise line. It was extremely misleading and disingenuous of Bluegreen to tell us we were getting a free cruise and we ended up wasting a bunch of time, not just at the timeshare presentation, which we expected, but having to call and talk to this company who does the travel arrangements for the not free cruise and that was 5 hours of my time wasted.
If i could give it a zero I would
If i could give it a zero I would, this company gets you into going to a time share meeting in exchange for a cheaper vacation. what they don't tell you, even if you have a year to book, you only have 30 days to cancel. they expect you to go to their meeting even if you have no babysitter. The customer service on the phone isn't very accommodating either. I know this review isn't long like the other ones but if I could warn you about anything in your life please save your time, money, family and energy from doing anything with this company.
Complete waste
Bluegreen's customer service has been horrible to deal with. After nearly a month, Megan Allen finally returned our call, only to inform us that we couldn't cancel the account. This is incredibly unreasonable since we've never encountered a service that’s impossible to cancel. Prior to our issues with Megan, we had several problems with Bluegreen.
Our experience began with an unpleasant sales presentation. We were approached by a representative at the Home & Landscape Show in Arizona who offered gifts like meal vouchers and a Visa gift card in exchange for a visit to the Cibola Vista resort. The supposed brief presentation dragged on, and afterward, we were forced to listen about vacation packages. Despite expressing our lack of interest and financial concerns, the reps were insistent, continuously pushing for a sale. It felt manipulative, particularly when they framed it as a limited-time offer.
The situation worsened during our Las Vegas stay. We were informed that Bluegreen was being acquired by Hilton Grand Vacations and were pressured into purchasing an upgrade package that would supposedly retain our benefits. The entire experience felt like an exploitation of our situation and made us feel trapped in a never-ending sales cycle. It’s disappointing and certainly not what we expected when we first started with Bluegreen.
Predatory Practices & False Claims
Predatory Practices & False Claims
Blue Green was an enjoyable but expensive undertaking for my family. We have a high level paid in full contract with them. My daughter has suffered a serve medical trauma that left us unable to use/find properties based on her being wheelchair bound Even arriving at a location where we were placed in a property that we couldn’t even access. After many calls with increasingly poor customer service we decided to end the relationship. We were given options and tried the Pinnacle option (waste of time and $$) So we choose the exit option they offer. Of course they want more money. We were told we would have to exit by a specific date. We spent over 8hrs on the phone trying to exercise the option constant transfers and disconnects. Final spoke to someone who gave us a new price of over 4000.00 more. When asked to speak to someone he informed there is no one else and that he has no manager. Refused our money and said that he was ok that someone lied to us about the cost. I am not exaggerating at all these are his words and are recorded. I could only laugh in utter disbelief. He told me there is no way to process a complaint. Please avoid this company and their predatory practices. I refuse to pay one more dime then the 6082.00 dollars i was told I could pay to exit. I am not trying to get out free just trying to be treated with some sense of fairness. Until there is an agreement of PIF I will not send them another payment
Bluegreen Vacation Scam
Bluegreen persuaded me into purchasing a vacation membership during a very vulnerable time of my life, right after I retired from the Army after 27 years of service. They said I could travel anywhere in the world, at a great price. Said it would be affordable and would have great inventory to choose from, with lots of flexibility. That has been nowhere near my experience, and when this information was presented to Bluegreen through the BBB, they even admitted they don’t have the best rates. In fact, I have never been able to use it because there’s such limited availability. I explained to BG my unique situation– caring for my handicapped father and being unable to work, no active income. No understanding or solutions provided. A 27 year Army veteran? Bluegreen sees dollar signs and an opportunity to deceive. Hook, line, and sinker. They have violated the Military Lending Act. There’s a reason they have several class action lawsuits against them. Bluegreen, do better. What a scam.
Stay Away
Whatever you do, stay away from Bluegreen! It is a horrible experience and will cost more than a normal vacation, and you are stuck paying insane maintenance fees for life.
This Company is a Joke and a Scam
At Bass pro they told us with the points we were buying we could go anytime anywhere. They walked us through what to expect with the ownership and all of the perks over three hours. They would not take no for an answer and kept throwing different offers at us. Now after becoming owners we are not able to get a reservation of the weeks we want and we’re limited on the time of year we can go because of low points. My anxiety is always high and this is affecting my marriage because we can’t afford the fees that they didn’t explain all the way. We have to live off of credit cards because of this and even with not using it Blueugreen won’t let us out of it. It has been terrible dealing with their customer service. I couldn’t get in touch with them for the longest time, then when I finally did I spoke with someone named Carlito. He was extremely rude, had no understanding of our situation and no customer service skills. I explained the intense pressure to purchase the ownership at the presentation, he said I’m a grown adult and could have gotten up and walked out of the presentation. They hold your ID there, so who is going to leave without their ID? I explained this and he said I still could have. Every aspect of this business is soured with rude, selfish, deceptive people and I cannot warn people enough to stay away from them.
Owning a timeshare has been the worst…
Owning a timeshare has been the worst decision of our lives. Every attempt we have made to escape this nightmare has failed. Bluegreen does not care about us. Their "solutions" like resale or title transfer, are just so they can say they helped. We have heard those options too many times to count.
The owners' meetings are a joke, telling us about how purchasing more points will make our lives so much better. The way they sold this to us was manipulative, but the post-purchase treatment is insulting, arrogant, and dismissive. They treat us as if we aren’t even worth their breath.
The incessant push to buy more points is infuriating. We are retired and can't afford to spend more on this worthless nightmare, but they ignore us and continue trying to bleed us dry. Their behavior is predatory, and we are fed up.
The last meeting was the breaking point, leaving us feeling cornered. We are done with their manipulations and disrespect. And now they are saying they won't even reply to us anymore since we aren't telling them anything they don't know. As if that makes it better. If you're reading this, avoid timeshares at all costs. They're a bottomless pit of frustration and regret. Stay far away.
Bluegreen are Predators & Liars
My experience is unique in that I did three timeshares last year. My first experience happened after coming off a 6-week manufacturing shutdown project where, for the first 2 weeks, I worked non-stop. This was the break I needed to recoup, and I could book travel before the voucher expired. I arrived and checked in with Bluegreen and received my hotel details. I wouldn't be staying at the Tradewinds property but at the Treasure Island Hotel and Marina, about 10 to 15 minutes away. My room was right off the elevator, and I felt unsafe. Plus, the hotel looked dated. When I went to my appointment in the morning, I was asked about the accommodations, and I explained the issue with my room location and safety concerns.
I inquired why I wasn't staying at a Bluegreen property, and they stated they contracted other properties when they didn't have availability at Tradewinds due to damage. This was my initial red flag. My saleswoman did the whole gamut. While going through the questionnaires, they followed with the benefits I would get as a BG owner. I would be leaving a legacy for my kids. I can save on future travel, and I would be able to maximize travel using bonus time vs. points. They sold me on the ability to pass this down to my kids and invest in my future through travel. She pushed the credit card to put the deposit on because it was 6 months interest-free. I passed and put it on my card. While the papers were being generated, I learned they "found a room" at Tradewinds so I could see all the benefits. I tried to navigate the system, but it was recommended to schedule my ownership training/orientation. I had a trip to Las Vegas, so I could use my orientation trip to cover part of my accommodations.
Fast-forward about 30 days later to Vegas. I get to my orientation and am told how deficient my points are instead of learning about maximizing what I have. I felt annoyed and duped. There was a solution to fix my issue. Buy more points. I was told buying more points would get me closer to the dream sold to me. I was assured that I would have access to the properties and be able to easily book properties. I signed up for a second property with the same reassurances, more points, and more flexibility. But, this came with the recommendation of pulling a cash loan from my 401K to pay for the 1st and 2nd loans or refinancing through SoFi. Worried about the interest, I pulled $30K from my 401K with an 8% interest rate on May-16-2023. I paid off my loans with Bluegreen and reduced my monthly income by $607.43 to unofficially pay off the purchases. Afterward, I received bills and notices that didn't make sense. I called Bluegreen, pissed. I didn't understand why nothing seemed to match what I was promised. Why didn't the site operate for me like it had been displayed on the big screen? I complained, and I was "flagged".
My last experience took place in Williamsburg, VA. I took my youngest 2 kids there for amusement parks and historical sightseeing. There was a saleswoman with a husband with cancer sharing her life story with me. Using my kids as leverage to push the idea of passing a legacy to them. It was here I learned that I still wasn't in a tier that afforded the perks promised. I still didn't have enough points. I was on a biennial plan and needed points annually to get to bronze. However, there was a mysterious deal that was saved from the initial purchase that grandfathered me into the old lower point system. If I upgraded, I would get proper access to full perks. They took me on more tours to see presidential suites for my family. She shared details on capitalizing on the timeshare and ensuring I would be happy with this purchase. They had a Diamond couple there telling me all the great things I would experience. I folded again. I had to pay this purchase out of pocket, $248 monthly. Since that purchase, I used the points twice. Every attempt to use points, bonus points, RCI certificates, etc., has all been met with roadblocks or ridiculously high fees. The ease of booking travel or converting points hasn't worked. I spent hours trying to make it work without success but plenty of frustration. Truly a trash company.
Our expManipulative businesserience as Bluegreen timeshare…
Our experience as Bluegreen timeshare owners has been extremely disappointing. Rising maintenance fees and the decreasing value of points have made ownership feel like a burden. Booking vacations is a nightmare.
The most aggravating issue is customer service—unresponsive, unreliable, and failing to follow through. We've been trying to cancel our timeshare for nearly a year, but Bluegreen’s representatives offer no real help, making the process exhausting. Loyal customers are treated as an afterthought.
During a trip to Florida, we were pressured into a “review meeting” that turned into a sales pitch. Instead of addressing our concerns, they pushed us to buy more points, claiming our vacations would suffer otherwise. This manipulative tactic is unacceptable.
Adding to the frustration, non-owners booking through platforms like Priceline seem to get better treatment. During a stay in Williamsburg, VA, a guest who booked through a third party received an upgraded room after complaining, while we, as owners, struggled with limited availability and subpar accommodations. The inconsistent treatment is infuriating.
Our stay at Bluegreen’s Patrick Henry Square in Williamsburg was especially troubling. The accommodations felt unsafe and poorly maintained, and policies like vehicle allowances were enforced inconsistently, adding more stress.
We expected fair and respectful treatment, but Bluegreen has failed to deliver. From poor customer service to manipulative salespeople and a lack of value, we deeply regret this “investment”. We hope to finally cancel our timeshare and get some compensation for the stress we’ve endured, but it seems we are in for a fight with Bluegreen.
Smiles with knife behind back

They sell or offer to sell you a free gift lol a cruise voucher for 50.00 (Carnival) booked through CRUZY. 30 days to cancel. But Cant reach nobody and nobody knows anything about it. Yet BlueGreen charged to my credit card. CRUZY was not happy to hear, as told by manager from CRUZY thise are not to be sold. They are given to Blue Green vacations as a free gift to be GIVEN to the people who attend. NOT CHARGED! Cant contact BlueGreen vacations AFTER tour. The RESORTS won’t transfer you or assist. CRUZY didnt sell the gift so they can not help. What a circus
I would give it no stars
I would give it no stars. First, they don't tell you it's a timeshare then they tell you up to 4 people but not saying 2 adults and 2 kids. They also say you can get your money back anytime if you can't attend which is a total lie. Please people if you can stay away from Bluegreen Vacations.
