My husband, two friends and I joined 8 others plus 4 crew and tour guide par excellence Dionysis on the motorsailer ERATO. Wielding electric bikes all, we undulated through the stunning Saronic and Cy... See more

This was my first river cruise ever and…
This was my first river cruise ever and I loved combining it with the biking in such a fantastic, bike-friendly, and beautiful place.
I found guide Franklin to be helpful, upbeat, encouraging, and mostly realistic regarding riding conditions due to weather. Hotel Manager Bogdan was very helpful in relocating us in a room that didn't smell of headache-inducing petroleum-based byproduct. I was willing to stick it out, but he offered another cabin when I had rather given up. The staff were friendly, funny, and efficient. Our group was surprised by the coffee protocol--it felt like coffee was an exceedingly rare commodity, to be enjoyed only on schedule and in modest quantities.
Overall, this was a verbazend experience!

it was a well organized bike tour...everything on boat worked well...the staff was very friendly and helpful all around...
I found the cabins somewhat small...but not surprisingly so...the info about the cabins was correct...
the one situation I had problems with was: it was very difficult to get vegetarian and vegan meals. that provided enough protein..it seems to me that the kitchen is not dialed into vegetarian or vegan food...that is what will make me think twice to book a boat-bike tour again.
Food was excellent; but ....
Food was excellent, loved the sites. Night cruise through Budapest was spectacular. Did not like that there is no drinking water and you must pay for it at premium cost, unless you are able to pick it up while you are out and about. Also, no coffee available before breakfast at 7:30 am.

Our stay on the boat was very comfortable and the food was good. I enjoyed the bicycle rides with a guide. Peter made the touring interesting and fun.
We’ll be back for a Third Tour! The guides are exemplary on this trip…
The guides are exemplary on this trip and others we have taken with Boat/Bike. In fact, the whole staff is very welcoming and pleasant and fun.
The chef did an outstanding presentation on evening meals. The breakfasts were however repetitive and they were our lunches as well. The food provided was good but we tired of the sameness.
The facilities on the Magnifique boats are always lovely but being there in both the spring and then fall, we needed more heat.
It would have been nice if the hot tub was at a temperature above 98; needs to be more than body temp and the water was a bit murky.
We love the routes and the bikes and the guided tours. We’ll definitely be back again. We are Boat/Bike repeaters! Thank you for the great experience.
An Easy and Enjoyable Way Travel!
This trip was a wonderful way to see parts of Belgium and the Netherlands. Every day offered new scenery, with rides through small towns, farmland, and even into a couple of the larger cities. Quite often it felt like we were riding through a fairytale.
It was a perfect way to see parts of Europe that most tourists normally wouldn't see, but without having to pack and unpack a suitcase everyday!
The boat itself was modern with cabins that were more comfortable than expected for a barge. They were cleaned daily and all the common areas were well maintained and set up well for socializing. We typically sail on the cruise ships, but have also cycled with other land tours. As such, we thought this would be a nice mix of the two and weren't disappointed.
The meals were a highlight as the chef prepared fresh, creative dishes that made each dinner something to look forward to. The crew worked hard to keep everything running smoothly, and the guides were attentive, making sure the rides were well paced and that everyone could enjoy them at their own level. Both Peter and Franklin were fun to spend time with and were very knowledgeable of the places visited. They showed great pride in the areas they were from which added to the trip.
Some in our group were new to longer cycling trips and had some reservations before booking, but the bikes were easy to handle and they had no problems with the routes or mileage. The frequent stops at little cafes, cheese farms, castles and such, made the days go by fast. We all opted for the E-bike upgrade as we were a group of 8 and wanted to be consistent. This was a good decision.
Boat Bike Tours was great to book through and we strongly recommend them. The process was simple and communication was clear and prompt from booking to sailing.
Overall it was the right balance of activity and comfort, and a unique way to explore. If you’ve ever thought about trying a bike and barge trip, we would highly recommend it. You will get to see much more than you would from a bus or a car, and you get the fun of returning to a welcoming boat at the end of each day... with a fully stocked bar and new friends to swap stories with.
We definitely hope to do it again one day!
Lovely scenery
The accommodations.food, service and travel routes were all outstanding!!
This was our first international trip…
This was our first international trip and our first trip with boat Bike Tours. They exceeded all of our expectations. We had a wonderful time. The crew was fabulous. The boat/rooms were spectacularly clean. Can’t say good enough good things. We are making plans to do another tour with Boat Bike Tours in the future.
Amsterdam to Bruge 9/25
Experienced, entertaining guides.
Bikes were great and worked well.
The daily rides were perfect for distance and routes.
The panniers were a real benefit, especially when we needed to pack rain gear and warm clothes.
Great biking experience
Great biking experience. Guides and paths were outstanding.
Experience a Tall ship, bike in beautiful places with amazing staff
Living on a tall ship for a week was a thrill - learning about the different sails and helping to raise them, learning about navigation and famous sailors of the past was great. Even through the cabins are small we found places for all our belongings. The public spaces were plentiful in the dining area and on the top deck. The food was average but plentiful. The staff was very friendly, met all our needs and were fun to be around. The biking guides were very knowledgeable about the areas we biked and took us to beautiful places. We got to see how the work life balance is so much better in Denmark and Sweden. I was able to switch to an ebike for two of the last rides which was helpful. The whole vibe on the boat between the staff and our biking group was like a big party. We really all clicked. We loved everything about the trip and felt that it was a great value for the cost of the trip.
Can't recommend, though I wish I could
I really wish I could recommend this tour, but sadly I can't. The food was wonderful, the staff were great, and the boat was comfortable and in excellent shape. The downside, however, was that the schedule was so poorly organized that we were only able to start cycling after breakfast on two of the days. On the other days we spent most of the morning trapped on the boat waiting for it to dock so we could get off and start our daily ride. This is supposed to be a cycling tour, not a sitting tour. By the time we got off the boat, which could be as late as noon, there was not enough time to see many of the things we had heard about in the daily briefings that we wanted to see along the way, so we felt that we missed out on a lot.
The boat
The boat, food, service was all amazing! From the captain to Leslie and his crew to the bike crew and kitchen staff, everything was first class! Thank you!
Ship and crew were great, disappointed in the food and cycling experience.
The ship was great as were the crew.
Only complaint concerning ship was the food.
I little variation in the breakfast and lunch items would be welcomed as they same thing get a bit tired for all the days. The dinner main courses were ok, with the bbq being a standout. The 1st courses were to hi-end for this type of trip. More traditional soup/salads would be more acceptable top the customers.
As for the biking experience, I was disappointed in the guides not being as organized with stops and structure. More stops and more sights to stop at would be better. The first day was to long (66 km), and when advertised as short and long options for each day and this was only offered once, and not on the 66 km day. Of real concern was that on our trip there was only 5 or 6 people on standard bikes. The guides did not account for this and since they were on e-bikes the based the pace on e-bikes. With the high wind head winds this was very difficult. They would stop and allow for the slower riders to catch up, but as soon as they arrived, the guides would say time to go. So the slower riders did not get a break.
If you allow standard bikes, then the guides should be on standard bike. Otherwise, change to e-bike only.
Rivers of Dreams
Everything really. The boat, the staff, the routes, the bikes and the food. Especially the scenery is outstanding. This must be one of the most scenic rides in Europe. Do it!
the experience on the Fleur was see above.
the experience on the Fleur was exceptional. The Crew and guides are coordinated, develop rapport of with guests and met our needs individually and as a group of people who came together for this trip of biking and boating experience .
Expectations exceeded!
All aspects of the trip met or exceeded our expectations; the quality of the boat, the food, the pathways for cycling and most of all the staff!
