I rarely do any reviews, but this one I thought I had to if only to assert my right not to be gagged.
Hired to replace boiler & radiator conversion work. They weren't cheap but could do the work in 3 days when everyone else locally quoted 5 to 7 days. They finished it in 2 days, got me to sign the paperwork that I printed for them & took photos. You would think I would be happy. I would probably be happy except that they dropped a radiator on our recently laid parquet floor (Repair estimate £3000 - more on this later). They were dying to leave with assistant honking constantly in the van. Asked plumber for instructions - No manual. He advised us to leave taps on unless pressure goes above 3.
First service: leaky relief valve and fault F2. Boiler Hut (BH) charged £100 citing photos. Unhappy… escalated concerns to CEO.
Viessmann’s verdict: no sludge, water cleaner than tap water, both heat exchangers clogged. Nothing sat straight, job functional at best
Consensus: commissioning haste and pre-used boiler.
Floor damage: BH felt £3000 high, promised to get their own estimate that never came, over 245 emails, excuses, reminders, phone calls later I called them for a closure. At one time, ** agitated replied ‘Don’t email me. I get hundreds of these emails.’ I bet.
Their penultimate response: it’s been too long to claim on insurance… amount is nearly as much as the job. So, I said, ‘I have to have it done, you damaged it… make me an offer of a reasonable contribution’
** offered £500 on the condition that I did not do any reviews or discuss it on the social media.

Friendly and knowledgeable sales and admin staff guided us efficiently through the decision and ordering processes. Friendly and competent fitters exchanged our old boiler for the quieter new one with minimum hassle. All at a reasonable price.

The team were quick to follow up on my enquiry, everything was done via initial online quote and then a call whereby a quote was generated more in line with my requirements, this was a cheaper price than initial quote. There was a bit of back and forth where measurements were needed and video calls to ensure there would be no surprises, from approval of quote to installation of a new boiler, gas line, 5 radiators and pipe work amongst other things, all was done in one day which was around three four days after giving the ho-ahead, which is exceptional, there was a slight hicup with a towel radiator however Kent was always available 7 days a week, even on a public Holliday and the issue was resolved in their stride. Some things could be bettered, but in all honesty given the bigger picture this is worthy of 5 stars.

We had a good experience with a Viessmann (Vitodens 100-w) boiler installation from Boilerhut.
After completing the online quote tool on the BoilerHut site, I got a call from the company’s sales director, Paul, who talked me through the installation and some options. I’m not sure the specific relationship Boilerhut has with Viessmann, but as a household we’d already more or less decided on the Vitodens 100-w and Paul was encouraging and informative about Viessmann as a brand and the boiler itself. We did talk about a couple of other Viessmann options but agreed the 100-w would suit our needs.
After speaking with Paul and sharing some photos of the current system boiler set up we wanted replacing, we got a new quote (listing the work and materials) that was very competitive. Having accepted the quote, Paul called with further details and asked me to pay the full amount, which I did. After the call, this did worry me a bit (even though Paul had said we could do it differently, if needed). In the end, I needn’t have worried (everything went smoothly) but, for those who are more cautious, it may be worth talking through different ways of breaking up the payment.
Installation was arranged the following week. On the day of installation, Thomas a contracted gas safe boiler installer and his son arrived and inspected the work. (We live in Edinburgh, and Thomas let me know he regularly does work for Boilerhut in Scotland and thinks highly of the company - particularly in comparison to other online boiler suppliers/installers.) Unfortunately, the length of and bends in the flu weren’t accurately captured in the photos I’d shared and Thomas had to delay the installation to the next day so he could buy and pick up the necessary parts. This was all done with Thomas consulting with Boilerhut and although the delay dampened our excitement of a new boiler, the installation the following day wasn’t a problem. Naturally, our preference was for a good and safe installation.
The installation the following day went smoothly. Thomas and his son were a pleasure to have around. They worked hard and seemed very knowledgable about the sector as a whole and boiler installations. They were also happy to share advice of setting up and configuring our new system. They completed the replacement of the old system boiler (removing the boiler and tank) by mid afternoon and tidied after themselves before leaving. All in all, I’d rate Thomas highly!
Since the installation (just over a week ago) everything has worked trouble free. I’ve had one call from Boilerhut to pay for the additional length of flu and to check on the installation. I’ve also received two or three email requests to write this review.
In sum, the installation by Boilerhut (with Thomas as the contractor) has gone very smoothly. So far, the system is working as expected and we’re happy with the Viessmann 100-w. We’ll know more as winter approaches.

From my first phone call to Boilerhut I was given great advice about the options I had for a new oil boiler. Paul advised me as to what he thought would be the best choice of boiler for me and I was amazed at how quickly he could fit me In. Less than a week !! It is all done now and the two engineers who came to take out my old wall hung boiler and replace it with a floor mounted one did an amazing job. They were really polite helpful guys and I'm really pleased with my new boiler so far (it was only fitted yesterday).
