Boiler installation

My old combi boiler was 22 years old and had done excellent service, but it was beginning to show its age so I thought it would be a good time to get it replaced. I walked to the Boilers R Us showroom in Welling and the lovely ladies there were very helpful.
A guy came to my house the next working day to survey and provided me with options - no pressure whatsoever, and the price was reasonable. He booked the installation for the following week.
The installer, Dave, was polite, friendly, arrived when expected and did a great job in removing the old boiler, installing the new one and patiently showing me how it all worked. And he left no mess at all.
Throughout the process, I was impressed with the professionalism of all at Boiler R Us and felt reassured that I was in safe hands. So far, I am very pleased with my new boiler - the water heats up much quicker than my old one. No problems noticed yet, but I feel that if I did have an issue, Boilers R Us would be easily accessible to advise if necessary.

Very prompt & friendly service

Very prompt & friendly service to fix a leak at the mains stopcock in our Church hall. Boiler serviced too within a few hours of the call. As we host a Nursery, it was imperative that the problem of being without hot water was fixed speedily otherwise they would have had to close.

They don't know what they are doing

Called out to repair Ideal Boiler not firing, Engineer attended and changed gas valve and ignition electrode. 4 weeks later same fault occurred. Engineer attended, could not fix. Left me with no hot water and heating over a bank holiday weekend. Then, radio silence from this lot, had to call in Ideal who attended and told me Boilers are us had fitted the wrong parts. Nothing wrong with the Gas valve they changed original fault was the electrodes which should have cost me just £100 fitted. Raised this with Boilers are Us. They never called back to resolve. Avoid this company. they clearly do not know what they are doing. To top it all, the boiler was still under warranty so the fix was FOC yet I'm £400 out of pocket.

The replies below suggested that you returned my call on 10th May following the Ideal visit, this is in fact false. You never called me to ask me to put my complaint in writing, you left no message, email, or text.

You also never covered the fact that your engineer fitted the wrong parts to my boiler - as confirmed by Ideal. This was the cause of the second failure and likely to be the original fault and not a £400 gas valve.
Further, The boiler was not working and was not left in a fault free condition following your second visit. Every time I drew hot water, or used the heating I had to reset the boiler - Is this a safe action for me to have to carry our given the first time your engineer attended it was 'too dangerous to use'?

The lack of communication and explanation of the above is the reason for the 1 star review.

Todays date 21st June 2024, Full response.

Thank you for your patience and allowing me to gather all the required information regarding your recent review.

Firstly I would like to apologies that you feel BoilersRus has not meet your expectations at this time. Our main priority as a local family run businesses is to insure all our customer are satisfied.

We attended the property after you contact us on 20/02/24 due to a ignition lock out fault on your Ideal Boiler. The engineer recommended electrodes and a new gas valve, this was accepted and booked in for the following day 21/02/24. The boiler operated fine after the repair and the engineer was satisfied with the required checks.

On the 1st May 2024 we received a call informing us that the same issue had reoccurred with your boiler and you could smell gas in the property. The engineer attended and carried out all necessary checks to the gas, boiler and components. He spoke to Ideal the manufacture while at the property and they indicated it could potentially be the burner, the engineer also confirmed there was no warranty with the manufacture due to missed annual servicing since installation. We would not have the warranty information as we did not install the boiler. The boiler was operating for heating and hot water when he left and was satisfied with internal parts.

10th May 2024 you contacted the office informing us that the manufacture Ideal had attended and you was not happy, you was informed that the office would contact you on the Monday 13th May 2024. On the 13th May we contacted you asking if you could kindly put your complaint in writing as we request any complaints by writing to correspond. We Unfortunely didn't receive any further communication until your 1 star review.

I then contacted Ideal to request the report of their visit on 10/05/24. They confirmed they attended the property to carry out a boiler service and by doing this they reinstated your warranty. If parts were required they would not have been able to carry out a service if there is faults with the boiler previously. The service passed and reported all ok. The engineer noted (sparking issue) replaced spark generator. On the report received I have no issue raised against BoilersRus with the previous work carried out as confirmed by Ideal.

I am happy to hear that you warranty has now been reinstated with Ideal and you will be covered going forward with them directly.

Watertight

We had a problem. Sunday our combi boiler gave up the ghost. Monday, I could not be at home but gave Boilers R US a call. Tuesday morning Duane called in for assessment and quote. Wednesday we had a new boiler installed and running. Problem solved. In these times I'd almost given up believing you could get such good service. No pun intended but it was watertight. Thank you Chelsea, Duane and Mark.

Consistently Excellent

I’ve been a customer of Boilers R Us since 2016 when I had a new boiler installed. I continue to use them for annual servicing and any other plumbing and heating work I need. Recently I had another radiator replaced to further upgrade my heating. I found the customer service excellent as always, the price good value for money, and the quality of the work outstanding.

My Dad recently had a new boiler…

My Dad recently had a new boiler installed. His on the other side of 80 and his hearing is not the best. They treated him so lovely and like nothing was too much trouble. They are still helping him now, not because there is anything wrong, but he keeps forgetting what they have told him. From the ladies in the office to the guys that fitted the builder, all have be kind and nice. Thank you. Thats what you call customer service, others could earn a thing from you guys.

Excellent service from Boilers R Us, Welling

We had recent issues with our Boiler and Boilers R Us been so helpful as trying to fix, engineers have been great. Peter tried to fix, then we had water flooding from it, and on a phone call Dwayne came the same day to give advice and support. And as the boiler now old he advised about best options and checked to see availability of a new boiler and engineer who was available next day. This was Ollie who was happy to come out on a Saturday. Ollie was an absolute pleasure to have in our home, contacted the day before to check time of arrival was ok, and from arrival, carried out work, updating us on everything, very professional, clean and tidy and doing everything to reassure us about the new boiler and function. Can’t praise Ollie enough. And the attention Boilers R Us team gave to our emergency.
