Personal Discrimination, Rude Staff members with no compassion

After arriving at your store shortly after open, I went to enter. Observing social distancing rules, I remained over 2 meters away from the customer in front of me. I observed him scan his card at self serve, and pick up a scanner whilst having a pleasant conversation with the representative. Unfortunately, she did not extend this courtesy to me.

She immediately barked at me to stand outside in a distinctly unpleasant tone to the one which she had just been communicating in. I apologised and said that I was observing social distancing and wasn't aware they only had one person in the space at a time. I can only suspect that this comment made her take personal umbrage to me, so she decided to abuse the powers given to her to ensure customers and colleagues stay safe. She stopped me from self scanning, despite previous customer doing this without interruption and stated unless I was a catering company or care home I could not come in. As an events company who provides catering, I should have been allowed access to your store but was not. I tried to explain this to your staff member, but was cut off abruptly.

Due to the pandemic most of my business has been wiped out, like many small businesses, we have to diversify to keep income where we can. We are currently utilising our premises to allow people a safe no-contact place to exercise their pets, as part of this, I am providing hot drinks FOC as a gesture to the community to keep going! So they can enjoy a nice drink while walking with loved ones, and for a moment, forget about the dire state of the world.

Unfortunately due to the actions of this staff member, I was unable to do that and left your store in tears for being spoken to in such a way. These are very trying times for everyone, and human compassion seems to be in short supply currently. It's very disappointing to see that in this instance, Booker representation showed none of this.

Excellent service and choice as always at Warwick . Very friendly , helpful staff especially from operator 121 ( I was too far away to read her name badge !)
Clean and orderly with ample space inside and out for social distancing requirements.

Bookers Telford,I am a disabled…

Bookers Telford,I am a disabled customer who cannot walk and due to the pandemic and social distancing was not allowed in the store today with a helper . I was spoken to very rudely by a member a staff at the door claiming that I was holding up other shopping by being their. I felt humiliated and ashamed and never have experienced discrimination like that before. I did not enter the shop . Thank you Bookers for making me feel even worse than I already do! I hope that you are very proud.

I am so disappointed in this company I was doing a shop for the food bank despite being an account holder and telling them I was specifically shopping for the food bank they would not let me in when I finally did the shopping I mistakenly picked up a wrong item despite still being in the packaging and having the receipt they would not allow me to exchange it.
How sad that bookers can’t help people trying to buy for the foodbank in this covid 19 crisis

Not allowed in Stoke branch either

Not allowed in Stoke branch either. They’re only letting in shop keepers who are ripping off customers by reselling. We have Care Homes but we’re told we can’t shop as it’s ahop owners only. Best not to go there again and their parent company Tesco.

Finally, staff were inhumane.

Well done and thank you Booker Wholesale xxx

Well done Booker Wholesale xxx
As stated in your ‘wholesale’ business name you’re not a supermarket for people to use as one to do their weekly shop for their family and half the street by what we have witnessed recently.
Thank you from the bottom of my retailers heart for stopping customers abusing their card and unless they are in a business selling and making food and drink, or an organisation caring or providing key work, then they for sure should not be allowed to strip the shelves of items to sit and eat themselves. That’s what Asda is for!!!
This week has been lovely and calm in Shrewsbury branch again, we have been able to get everything we need, safely, plenty of distance and time to allow us shops and care homes to get all we need to provide for a community, not just our greedy selves.
Well done for rejecting plumbers buying chicken wings, hair dressers that are closed stocking up on pizza and chips, a window cleaner with dishwasher tablets and ketchup (god knows) and one of every food item out of chilled. All looking lost and confused because they can’t find anything; clearly never been in the store before or Atleast not in 12 months since the new lay out. I could shop there with my eyes closed.

Thank you Shrewsbury staff, management Steve and Gra, have been outstanding in helping everyone and all Key workers. Staff have masks and gloves and all sorts of sanitiser goodies, I’d like some for my staff but as of yet we can’t get sanitizer when we desperately need it, i’ll keep trying. Social distancing highly respected now there’s calm and control.

Top job long may it continue xxx

Dissapointed to have been the only…

Dissapointed to have been the only person entering the facility to have been challenged

The employee who greeted me wearing a Hi-Viz jacket stated in his experince "there are lots of people using other peoples cards pretending to be members"

So I needed to see the manager as I may not be granted access

1 - Clear Acts Of Disscrimination
2 - Employees not observing the social distancing guidlines
3 - Manager ignoring basic CoronaVirus spreading protocol by asking to handle my membership card
4 - Even after 8 years membership, being told I looked like someone who might be using someone elses card to gain access

#BookerCashAndCarry High Wycombe .. thank you for the racial profiling & discrimination experience this morning!

The little things

We visited the Basingstoke branch today. My wife works for the NHS and at the moment we don’t have much time to shop, when we do it’s all gone due to the selfish. because of the virus the branch opened at 0730 for catering only, until 11am. We explained to the girl my wife works for NHS and we don’t have any time at the moment to shop and she let us in without question. It’s the little things........
Thank you Booker Basingstoke X

Staff are fantastic

Staff are fantastic, service is great at Castleford. I'm never left for long before a member of staff jumps on to the tills. People say it's grim up north but I beg to differ. Always a smile from everyone.

Arrived at Booker (Telford branch)…

Arrived at Booker (Telford branch) waited at the front desk until the female staff member noticed me eventually, once she did I asked her a simple question politely to be given the answer “NO” I then had to ask why? To which then then gave an explanation, I advised her on my previous visits this had not been the case so she then decided to shout another member of staff over with the statement “do you want to tell this chap, because he doesn’t believe me” very unprofessional and will not ever use them again!

I went to Cowes Isle of Wight store this morning ,as I walked through the door I was confronted by a staff member being shouted at,very very loudly,in front of customers. On asking later who was this aggressive man I was told he was the area manager. One of the first rules of management....you never shout at staff in front of customers. The man at the checkout said"he's in a bad mood this morning".Tough,he should be demoted ASAP

Driver took my wing mirror off

On Monday morning a Booker driver kindly wiped off my car wing mirror and did not stop to leave details.

Luckily he is on CCTV so the police are now working with the shop to obtain the reg- bookers have yet to make any effort in helping me.

I have been ringing Bookers all week. No one has apologised to me. No one has called me back and no one is helping me with the fees to fix my car.

Absolutely disgusting company.

I visited Swindon bookers cash-and-carry for the first time today as due to recently moving to Swindon I have never scene search despicable and racist behaviour until I went to pay for my shopping and was approached by an older man who was working on the Checkout who refused to serve me due to the fact I wear a headscarf I am a white British citizen born in the UK I wear a headscarf due to my own beliefs and for the first time in 6 years of wearing a headscarf I was made to feel so disgusted an unworthy of myself by a member of the staff working there for a young girl to be looked at and judged for wearing something in this day and age is disgusting for him to point out that he will go get someone to serve people like me I can't believe in this day and age we still have people that judge people for their religious beliefs we are all the same and no one should be treated like s***

Staff very helpful.....but the prices are way more expensive than that of you're local supermarket. I can't believe it.
I will not be doing our PTAs shopping there again. Really sad as i was under the impression that wholesalers were meant to give bulk buying good discounts. Not so here.
So shop elsewhere folks.
