Felt better buying directly through an independent book shop. On arrival through the post,the owner had wrapped up the book ready to gift which was a lovely and kind surprise!

One of the worst book-buying experiences of my life. The book was packed with no care at all and was not as described (nor was the damage shown in photos). The binding was completely consumed by leather rot and the rear cover was completely detached. The text block was in three pieces, and the front cover, barely attached (the only thing accurately described in the listing) simply came away as soon as the book was unpacked. The binding is beyond restoration and the text block will have to be completely resewn before a new binding can even be contemplated. David was unhelpful, condescending and didn't even apologise for either the shoddy packing or the state of the book. Shipping was very expensive (over $100 Aud for a very small, light item) and even though we had negotiated a lower price than he was asking, that price did not reflect the true condition of the book. He went out of his way in the listing to conceal the true condition, and has also deleted my feedback on Ebay (thereby giving the false impression that he has only positive reviews). I will never shop here again and can not recommend them to others. Unless you can actually visit the store in person and see the item in real life, it's a store to stay away from. Online, they are simply not to be trusted. Very disappointing to find sellers like this giving the whole antiquarian book trade a bad name.

The reply from the seller, which I can't directly reply to, is as disingenuous as his book descriptions. He takes no responsibility for anything and I stand by what I said - not a seller you can trust.

Book was in excellent condition = an accurate description. And excellent packing in cardboard mailer, not just sent in a Jiffybag like some other booksellers. Would happily buy again from this seller.
