Truelang is a breath of fresh air
Truelang is a breath of fresh air. After years dealing with WPML and their shenanigans, I finally found the solution to self-host and use my own API key. You see, WPML doesn't give us the chance to use our own AI API keys directly. They implemented a “translation tax” on top of our subscription. Truelang does. We have the option of using our own keys directly to translate our site. What else? Truelang offers an LTD (as of the time of writing this review). I audited the plugin using multiple services and the general consensus is that Truelang is a lightweight, well-developed plugin. Theo did an amazing job. There are a few small security issues, but I’m sure he will fix them in the upcoming updates.
Now, my only criticism for Truelang is the amount of telemetry. I understand that Theo needs to protect his hard work, but he’s doing too much IMO. I hope these get trimmed down in the newer versions.
In short, Truelang is the BEST translation solution for WordPress at this moment. Nothing can come close in terms of quality, speed, and value. We plan to transfer all our sites from WPML to Truelang when our contract ends with them.
