Have to agree with other reviews - delivery is painfully slow. I ordered a book 8 days ago and I am very keen to read it, but to date I haven't even been advised it's been despatched yet. I realise they will offer an explanation of various stock locations etc but I'd suggest the online consumer has a general expectation that a book purchase will be received between 3 and 7 days from point of order. I've bought from many retailers online for years and that's the general timescale. Therefore, this compares really poorly I'm afraid. It was cheaper than the closest completion by about 5%, but with hindsight I'd sooner have paid the extra and recieved it while I'm 'in the mood'!

I wanted to read Tom Bower's book and I wanted ti support an English bookstore rather than Amazon. A happy experience alk around( except to characters of the book, who are a little hard to tolerate at times).

If we are contacted by a customer who has placed an order with us and provided the wrong details for delivery, we are pleased to be able to edit the delivery address if notified before dispatch. Should an order be dispatched from our Distribution Centre, it is unfortunately not possible for us to edit or retrieve an item as it has been posted to the address provided and is already in the postal system.
We wish to assure it is not possible for us to change a delivery address to be any different to that provided to us by the customer at checkout and is the responsibility of the customer to check all information provided to us at checkout is correct. We also advise of the delivery information provided in the confirmation email received, so customers are able to check all information provided to ensure delivery is going to the correct location. Should the postal services be unable to deliver and item due to an address error, an item will be returned to sender and we will issue a refund once received back at our Distribution Centre.

Customer service was excellent
Customer service was excellent. Delivery was quick and safe. The only problem was a lack of street address which I was able to correct so that we received our order only one day later than expected and in plenty of time for the event. I would love to do business with you again.

I contacted Blackwell's as my order had not been dispatched. The customer service rep, Arwa, looked into my order very quickly and came back to me with updated information, that the publication date of the book I had ordered, had been changed to a later date, which was absolutely fine. It was really helpful to get an update so quickly :)

We will always aim to dispatch pre-orders as close to receiving near the publication date, so our customers receive their orders as quickly as possible. There can be a few examples where books may be delayed in dispatching, depending on when copies are received by us from publisher, especially if an item is produced by a US publisher for example and requires to be shipped over from the US. Also if there is an embargo placed on the book too by the publisher, this can also delay the dispatch of a pre-order.
In regard to delivery, our carrier company Whistl collects all of our parcels and takes them a set distance before providing the item to Evri or Royal Mail to complete the final doorstep stage of delivery. When you receive a confirmation of dispatch email, this is the stage of Whistl pick-up and the tracking with Evri or Royal Mail will not update until they receive the item later in the delivery process which is a few days later. At the stage of them receiving the parcel, it is normally 1-2 day after to completed delivery.

A Truly Exceptional Experience: Amany Mohammed of Blackwell's Customer Service is the best customer service representative I have ever encountered.
On my life, this is the best customer service I have ever received. Amany from Blackwell's was quicker than I ever thought possible to reply about my issue—literally within minutes and hours.
I was contacting Blackwell's regarding an urgent issue with my order, which had been dispatched over a month earlier but was showing the worrying status: "Received at Return Handling Facility." I was concerned that the delivery had failed and the book, was being returned. This book is a favorite of mine and is particularly difficult to find in Sri Lanka, with other options like Amazon and eBay being significantly more expensive—sometimes triple the price of the book.
Amany responded swiftly, offering both a full refund or a replacement copy. When I replied, confirming I wanted the replacement, she processed the new order and confirmed the action in less than three hours.
The speed, clarity, and kindness with which Amany handled my issue was truly remarkable. Thank you for making what could have been a very frustrating situation so easy to resolve!

I have yet to receive my book however its been a great experience.
I have yet to receive my book, but not for less but in my ordering i made a mistake and entered my email wrong.
