God send

The gentleman that takes my dog for a walk is a God send. I havent been able to take her out because of pain now because of surgery. Unluckily he is now on holiday for a week but when he comes back he will be raking her again. Im so glad I found 'Borrow my Doggie"

Rupert

The first dog we met was Rupert, a Maltese Bichon cross and we’ve been looking after him now for nearly 8 months now to the great satisfaction of all involved. The arrangement is completely flexible and we have him between 0-5 days a week, depending on what we and his owner are up to. We tend to agree dates a couple of weeks in advance. Rupert is funny, affectionate and full of character and we absolutely love his visits. None of it would have been possible without Borrowmydoggy.com.

Asked for a refund within 14 days and…

Asked for a refund within 14 days and was told no because i had been contacted by a borrower. However as i explained to customer services, that person contacted me know what its like to own a dog, where did we get our dog from etc, it transpired they were not interested in coming for dog walks, taking our dog for a walk etc and has not been in contact since. I also noted that alot of people seem to be inactive in my area. I would certainly not recommend this company.

lots of new friends

Opportunity for my dogs to meet lots of new friends for walks and company. The app isn't always quick to update with messages etc but the amount of dog walks and care support we have received through this platform has been wonderful.

I joined Borrow my Doggy a few weeks ago. I’ve walked my new doggy buddy four times. It’s great to have a dog to walk again, especially as work commitments prevent from having one of my own for now. I would definitely recommend BMD.

Well so far waste of money and time

Well so far waste of money . I have joined premium membership as only way to get replies of owners . Sent messages to several but no replies . Did get one message to look after dog which I replied to I could do but then no reply back ? So rude why ask in first place . Was hoping for numerous offers to look after dogs but disappointed Not renewing membership as waste of my time and money

Good idea, but....

Borrow my doggy sounds like a good idea. In principal. I must have sent out 30 messages to people who are supposed to be interested in being a "borrower" and out of those 30 messages I have one borrower, who shows up twice a week to help me out by walking my dog while I await a knee replacement and struggle a bit with chronic pain while walking.

Total waste of money

Total waste of money. Paid for premier membership to find people to help walk my puppy. 2 responded but lived miles away!! another very close but only did it once and complained the pup pulled on lead and not been back since. The company refuse any refunds for any reason. In response to below, My mileage is set. Cannot edit age it keeps saying pup is 20 years old. As for Pup pulling on lead, hardly dangerous with such a small dog and did state it is still in training. Never heard from BMD again no offers of help

When searching for members in your area, you can adjust your search radius, for example from 1 mile to 3, 5, or more, to suit your needs. Each profile also shows an approximate distance, like “1.5 miles away,” to help you find a match that works best for you.

In terms of the borrower who didn’t return after one walk, our community is built on trust and safety. If a borrower doesn’t feel confident or comfortable with a match, they can absolutely choose to step back, it’s all about keeping everyone safe and supported.

To clarify our 30-day money-back policy: if you haven’t shared contact details, arranged a meeting, or used our safety features, you may be eligible for a refund within 30 days of signing up. Once any of those steps have been taken, the service is considered used and a refund would not apply.

Wonderful community

What a fabulous idea and run by the kindest people. I sadly had to give up walking my beautiful borrowed dog Teddy due to a health condition. I miss him dearly. Couldn’t have my own dog so this was the perfect solution.

I absolutely love Borrow My Doggy

I absolutely love Borrow My Doggy! I'm not able to have my own dog and came across BMD. It took me a while to sign up thinking it would probably be a waste of time but it's been the best thing I've done. I've now been borrowing Bella twice a week for over three years and I have to admit it's mutual love. I've also made a great friend in Bella's owner which is a bonus. BMD also gives me assurance that if anything goes wrong while I have Bella I am covered with their insurance. Happiness all round!

Don't waste your time or build up your hopes for replies

A VERY DISAPPOINTING ORGANISATION AND SO CALLED DOG LOVERS!!!!!!!!
I HAVE PUT OUT 25 PLUS MESSAGES TO ASK FOR ASSISTANCE TO THOSE WHO CLAIM TO LOVE DOGS AND OFFER THEIR SERVICES AND HAVE HAD JUST ONE REPLY FROM A GENUINE CARING LADY.

WHAT SORT OF ORGANISATION IS THIS? THEY CHARGE £48 FOR THE PRIVILEGE OF DISAPPOINTMENT AND ENTICING
TIME WASTERS WHO CAN'T EVEN BE BOTHERED OR HAVE THE DECENCY TO REPLY

AN ABSOLUTE RUBBISH COMPANY WHO DON'T CHASE UP THEIR CUSTOMERS AND WANNABEE HELPERS. A TOTAL RIP OFF TOO!!!!!!

BorrowMyDoggy connects dog owners with local dog-loving borrowers, who are volunteers from the community, who offer their time to help care for dogs simply because they love being around them. Borrowers do this for free, in their spare time, so availability and responsiveness can vary from person to person.

It’s also worth noting that only Premium borrowers are able to reply to messages. If you've contacted mostly Basic members, they may not be able to respond unless they upgrade. That said, we do send out notifications and follow-ups to borrowers who haven’t replied yet, so there’s still a chance you may hear back from more people soon.

Didn't work for me

I got one contact and even though we got on well and I looked after the dog for a few hours never heard anymore. I think they were just testing it out and didn't really need anyone as they had family who looked after the dog. I found only people who were going on holiday contacted me to save money on kennel fees - even though I had put in my preference I did not do holidays. Watch out as the membership has an automatic renewal and I have just found out and have now ended my membership.

Complete Scam

I would not recommend this service. In over a year, I have only had one response, despite contacting many profiles. Most don’t reply at all apart from the odd one saying they're not available!

I’ve contacted BorrowMyDoggy several times (including twice this month) but haven’t received any acknowledgement. On the occasions they did reply in the past, the profiles they suggested weren’t relevant — for example, cat owners (even though I explained my dog cannot be around cats) or people only available at times I’d said wouldn’t work.

I’ve also noticed that other members have left reviews with the same complaints, but the company seems to give the same generic responses without resolving the issues. My biggest frustration is that they no longer reply to emails at all, which leaves members with no support and no way to request a refund.

I paid £48 for a membership and feel I’ve had no value from it. Based on my experience, this service has not delivered what it promises.
One woman wrote to me saying she was interested but then complained she'd just had a dog who had separation anxiety and couldn't be left in her house alone for the day etc..isn't the point of BMD to offer companionship?!

Total joke of a company.

Just the best service for dog's and owners

Communication is excellent ,providing me with updates on borrowers in my area .The cost of £50 a year is such good value for what you get back .The borrowers I have connected with have all bean great with my little dog .He has had just the best time . I will certainly be continuing my membership .
