Bought a gas boiler. When it arrived it was damaged from both the outside and in. I sent them pictures of the damage and a report from the gas engineer I had hired to install it which stated that the boiler was not only fit for purpose, but would have been dangerous if installed.
BPI responded with ‘all goods are purchased at the buyers own risk’.
Basically, they were happy to sell a product that could jeopardise the lives of people.
They totally absconded from any responsibility.
This happened in 2021. I was only reminded to write a review as I received a random email from them with regards to their latest auction.
DO NOT TRUST
Before you think about taking part in any of their online auctions, think twice. Unless you're a sick gambler.
I bid on a coffee machine with a reserve price. A laconic description and two identical photos. After bidding, it turned out that my offer did not reach the reserve price. So I gave up and bought the same coffee machine on Ebay for a lower price in excellent condition.
How surprised I was when I received an invoice for payment. £525 Shocking. I called them thinking it was some mistake.
Unfortunately not. They can change the auction rules at any time without informing the customer. I don't know of any other auction with such rules. It's unfair and disgusting.
I thought to myself... I guess I have no choice but to pay because they threatened fines for late payment, etc.
A few days later the express arrived. Or maybe what's left of it. It looks like someone threw it from the first floor. Cracked and bent casing, cracked coffee grinder.
Of course, the description did not mention any defects or mechanical damage. You can't see anything in the photos either.
Would I even bid on something like this?
Is this how a "reputable" company should approach customers?
This smacks not only of dishonesty but of fraud.
Of course, this great company sees nothing wrong with this.
I guess the media should be interested in this
I have bought 4 items over the last year and can’t really say I have had any problems.. when I’ve called them they have answered .. and have received the items I bid on .any items you buy at auction are always a bit of a risk if you haven’t viewed them prior to bidding.. but that is why you are getting them probably 10% of the original sale price. So you pay your money and take a chance. Sorry for those with a bad experience.
I purchased a wooden dining table which turns out to be coated in plastic or vinyl.
BBI don’t want to know as there terms and conditions state you should go to auction and view items .
Not much point being an on line auction house if you have to attend .
Not at all trustworthy,if they can describe items however they want with no come back .
Yesterday the auction of Wildcat vehicles and spare parts ended and I managed to get 11 lots that i had been bidding on, I received an invoice and paid directly then had notification of payment received along with contact details on how to arrange collection , which i did by text and email but no response.
I unloaded our trailer ready to drive to Devon to collect the 11 items when was convenient only to be told that 8 of the items have now been removed from my invoice and would be credited, this was because the seller thought they should get more money. But it was unreserved you would say??? Not the case. so even though i had an invoice and paid they could still say No you cannot have that !!! A Fiasco of an Auction company, Misrepresentation ! I deal with a lot of auction companies such as Ritchie bros and Euro auctions and there Unreserved means unreserved.
What a waste of time this Auction House is.
After a long time got fed up with buying blind and not getting vaiue but my fault for not viewing my abvice as bpi are selling agents view view like a blind date can be exspensive wast of money if you bo not view ..not bpi fault just view no point so thank u after falling ill wont be buying again but thank you been ok
This company made the whole process so easy! As a first time buyer I was talked through the process. And finished within the scheduled time!
Am shock to see reply’s from BPI talking absolutely nonsense on their reply messages. Even if you bid at an Auction, you have 14 day cool of period. You can change your mind and cancel the transaction. If you’re not happy with it or have a change of mind. Are this (BPI) company/Organisation aware of consumer right to cancel?. If not, they are breaching consumer legal right. They should be reported to the police, Action fraud and taken to small claim court. Guys, don’t let this scammer bully you into paying for something you no longer want. Be careful to pay for something. Some Indian and Pakistani in Birmingham are now operating scams using Online Auction, with non existence office address. This BPIauction and Bpauctions are the same company. The are running a scam.
Check their office address. Check if the company is registered at Company house. Make sure the company wasn’t open 2 year or less ago.
So you don’t fall victim of this scammers
Buyer Beware
I never thought this company had so many negative reviews, I wish I would have come here first. I won an auction before Christmas and duly paid the invoice of £195.00.
I paid for extra insurance with delivery, but the goods were sent to the wrong address (allegedly) and returned to Royal Mail (allegedly). I can't speak to Royal mail only the sender. I have phoned and emailed may times asking for a refund only to be fobbed off. These people are rogues, please do not use them. I am now in the process of issuing legal proceedings to recover my payment
So I purchased a combination oven in an auction. Looked ok. Got home and removed panel to find all major components have been removed. You would not know this was the case until you remove panels to work on it. I have basically purchased a frame of an oven. Apparently Bpi have a good reputation for selling equipment according to their website?? I understand auctions come with risks for example the oven may not work, may need to be serviced etc but to rob someone like this is really unacceptable . Bpi also feel this is acceptable behaviour.
If it was my company I would assure the customer I wouldn’t be dealing with whoever put this through the auction or at least investigate it , but Bpi think this is ok. I won’t be dealing with them again and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone else.
WOW! They even write their own reviews. I've never bothered with BPI.
I wanted to find a vehicle but after reading the genuine 1 star reviews I'll
steer clear. After reading their own reviews, I'm abit disturbed by that. Don't know whether to laugh, cry or run round the house shouting, I like poo!
We purchased three industrial vacuums from BPI Auctions. When we got them back to our workshop we found two were broken and cannot be fixed. When I contacted BPI they said 'we do state on all our auctions that the items are 'Sold as Seen.' and 'stated within the Terms and Conditions of sale, which are put in place to protect yourself, BPI and the Vendor'.
I can understand viewing before purchase, but visually the items looked ok but will not start/work. Which we could not of known without plugging in/testing before purchase. BPI don’t let the buyer try machines before sale. Also how do their terms and conditions protect the buyer in any way, when they are left out of pocket.
My advise would be don't buy from BPI auctions, pay a little more buy reconditioned or new and guarantee you wont be left out of pocket.
Had issue with seller but they neglected my complain and favoured seller. Misguided buyer by wrong listing so be careful
I bid on three vehicles, I was the highest bidder on two, the auction ended and apparently I had been out bid, when I asked how much they were sold for I was told they do not publish sold prices, think the whole prOcess is somewhat dodgy and I definitely will never bid on anything from their site again, maybe I should have read the reviews on here first
I've bought some items from an online catering auction and almost all of them are not working. I tried to bring professionals to fix them and they discovered all items were tampered with and whoever sold , they knew the appliances are not working. I've contacted BPI and they said it's nothing I can do as someone tried to repair them. This is lame excuse, once the item is not working why should you blame me for trying to fix it?? I know the stuff is sold as seen but this is robbery, they are selling appliance deliberately knowing they don't work. Please don't use them, instead of smaller price you will get a bigger headache. I will never use them again.

I won four items and did not receive any.
In one of the bids the contact details of the vendor was wrong, when I was given the correct email, despite my pleas and updating BPI of my frustrations, after exhausting my patience and asked for a refund the vendor, then contacted. I am yet to receive my refunds.
I bidded more than £4k for a truck load of customer returned TVs, before bidding, I made enquiries from BPI considering the distance of location, if the TVs had smashed screens, they said No, on getting to the vendor to pick them, they were piles of smashed screens TVs. With the misinformation, I asked for a refund. They said their terms exonerated from any responsibility, even when they propagate falsehood.
The other bid, was for touch screen tablet, the vendor encouraged me to arrange collection, upon sending him the details, the collection was cancelled, without my knowledge 4days later, I tried tracking my goods, only to be told it was cancelled.
BPI promised to get back to me to place one of the items won back on auction, till date they never did so.
They are a fraud and can never be trusted.
