Don't bother with it
Unable to register card to claim any rewards. Message sent through contact us with no reply. Reading through other reviews I will not lose sleep as appears to be a huge scam given both website and app say error continuously
As per MOST reviews of Bpme rewards
As per MOST reviews of Bpme rewards, customer services is very unsatisfactory. It seems the job criteria to work their is you have to be deceitful. Basic customer service is not their priority, so why are they still in business. DO NOT waste your time, money & effort in collecting points, as you may not get vouchers.
BP rewards not credited to account
Like others I have filled up with petrol several times and scanned my BP rewards card, only to find that the points never get credited to my account - the last few transactions show as £0 (and therefore no points). I've contacted BP twice through their contact form, but no-one ever replies. BP = Basically Pointless (that's the polite version).
BP's Scam To Steal Your Rewards1
If you are wondering why your points are not mounting up as expected, it is probably because of the scam operated by the connect stations to avoid giving you your points. Read my email below to which customer service have failed to respond;
Hello
Having activated your recent 4x loyalty points offer for premium fuel, I visited my usual Moushold SF Connect on 30th July and filled up with £98 of premium fuel.
I first passed my loyalty card to the cashier, She appeared to scan it, but there was no bip. I paid with contactless. At this point I requested a receipt. The cashier feined examination of the receipt with 'Oh, your points have not been added'. She then added points to the loyalty card. But when I then examined my receipt as I left, only 98 points had been manually added. I returned and pointed out 4x points should have been added. Grudgingly 3x more points were added after some discussion.
There was no apology, and the response was curt and knowing!!
The cashier absolutely knew the card did not register the points and was quite ok with me leaving without them. The feined receipt examination confirms the deceit.
I would appreciate an explanation before considering if this scam needs to be published to warn other customers.
Best regards,
Rob...........
I have bpme reward card(so called) for…
I have bpme reward card(so called) for a year may be two. I was given £5 bonus for opening account. I've been regularly filling up and scanning the card. I fill up my van every 10 days or so. After all that time and filling tank so many times I have £5.06 in my card account. I asked the pump attendant to use that money only to discover that I have to have £25 balance to use for first time. Now, at 6p a year I'll fill up for 350 years to be able to use the balance. How great that is.
Got card from Shaveeth great service
Not going mad
Not going mad! These reviews have helped me realise the scam that is BP Me Rewards
Will deregister and change my fuel station as three times I’ve tried to sort the card and points.
Have had this card for 5+ years and buy fuel at least three times per week and still 0 points even though I’ve called the support team three times.
Tried to use the app and despite repeated circling no further forward.
I give up
On to another fuel company reward scheme …
Possibly if not 100% the worst loyalty…
Possibly if not 100% the worst loyalty card ever. 5 years and many many hundreds of pounds for £15!!!! Absolutely pointless. BP should be embarrassed by this making billions annually but like most other oil companies greed is the only way!
Stopped for fuel and food
Stopped for fuel and food. Yes, warm food , done it every time comming down to Swindon from Northampton, every time exceptionally served, the staff were so attentive and well mannered. The food always fresh, extraordinary good coffee and savoury. One of the best services in the country. The place is a BP garage , on A420, called bp Buckland. It is always a pleasure to stop and get quality service, acceptable prices for food and drink and served with a smile, at 04.00 on the 29th of June. Staff named Nam & kd ... so polite and helpful. I wish all the best to them. Great team!
Useless
Incompetent. I signed up right when the scheme was new after BP left Nectar. There were lots of technical bugs and it did not work properly. Reporting the bugs to the support to help them address and fix those issues was a complete waste of time.
As time went, they managed to make it work. Almost. So, so. It was not perfect but every now and then if you were willing to bother to give it a try, you could actually use the app to purchase fuel. It did not always work but sometimes, yes. It was quite annoying to authorise so many times in the app and through the online banking that I rather went to the counter and paid there because it was faster!!! Now, they broke the simple rule: "don't fix what [almost] works" and changed the log in method completely which means, you can guess, it is completely useless, completely useless, I cannot log in and access my account at all not to speak about using the app to purchase fuel. [Update: the log in through e-mail and password does not work but google log in works; the payment failed though, so let's go to the counter] Again, the change came in effect months ago, so considering their level of competence, in few months, in few months, it might work. It is just ridiculous. My message to BP: check out the Shell app. It is fast, simple, perfect, always worked, already years ago. Watch and learn.
Unsatisfactory - Not Fit For Purpose
First - should have been an option for no stars
My app that I use reuglarly has suddendly required me to sign I tried. It sent a log in link that would not open. I cannot now use it or see any valid reason why it should have changed from when I used it last week.
Someone important at BP should read these reviews and do something about all the dissatisfaction. Mine first!
Time wasting on cheap/false economy
Time wasting on cheap/false economy
You get £ 5 for every £ 1000 spent
Not good for your mindset
No point to use this
Not for winners
Redeemed 50 pounds worth for m&s…
Redeemed 50 pounds worth for m&s vouchers and when we tried to redeem 1 had zero pounds on it. After sending details bp rewards said it was for amazon despite me screenshots of the voucher. Now they dont respond. Spend 10000s on diesel every year as a hgv driver so probably move to shell in future.
Waste of time
Totally useless the App software must be faulty. Can't log on to recieve rewards and doesn't recognise my card number.
Waste of time
Waste of time. Can't contact them never add the points correctly. Total waste of time
Definitely unrewarding and possibly a con
Like the above reviewer, I was also told that you have to spend £25 in one go if you want to use the 1000 points (£5 worth) that BP supposedly give you on registration. But it was worse than that: the second time I went back, I put £25 worth of petrol in, but now I couldn't use the points because I needed to earn 25 non promo points. The third time I went to fuel up, I was told the same thing, even though I showed my receipts and app saying I had earned over 50 non promo points. All embarrassing enough at the petrol station. But more frustration followed.
I decided I didn't want to go to a BP petrol station any more if I wasn't going to redeem my points because it's more expensive than my normal station. However BP rewards claims you can swap BP points for vouchers with other companies like love2shop and Amazon. But here, again, both the app and BP website failed. Every time I went to confirm my purchase of a voucher, it said
"Error
We’re sorry, something’s gone wrong. Try hitting refresh, and if that doesn’t work, please come back later.
TRN_BUSINESS_RULE_ERROR_RESULT"
This happened with any voucher type, different devices, and different Internet connections, so I know the error wasn't on my side.
Finally contacting customer service was a dead end: I eventually got an email reply giving a telephone number (0800402402) to call that kept disconnecting.
All in all, I would never have shopped at BP's normally but for reward points that would reduce costs at least to match my normal petrol stations...the whole experience has been frustrating, embarrassing and a bit of a con.
25 pounds must be spent to redeem any points
App told me I had points to spend and when going out my way to use them was told I can't use them until I spend 25 pound in store so a bit deceiving. It does say it in the small print but very misleading and the staff were as confuse at the Bp garage and no sympathy from customer service for being messed about, was told firstly it was 25 points then after 12 points? I know now but went out my way to use points and hit an embarrassing brick wall.
Not impressed.
