Mid sole disintegrating

This is the 2nd pair of Brashers that have failed on me. The mid sole is basically disintegrating after only 2 years... contacted Brasher / Blacks - but have just been told they can't do anything without a receipt.... as these were a replacement for a previous pair that fell apart - I have no receipt...the shop (Blacks in Manchester) just replaced them for me... £130 on a pair of boots that are literally falling apart.... . It's clearly a known fault given the number of complaints on here..not good enough Brasher - let your customer service staff deal with this otherwise I can only image there will be more complaints on here...

I bought a pair in February 2020, as my 'default' pair of shoes that I can wear up a hill, to the shops or to restaurant or nice pub. I don't quite wear them every time I go out but they get heavy wear.

In August 2021 I sent them off to get resoled at a cobblers that does Vibram repair; this is because I wear down the outside edge of the heels disproportionately (I actually had a pair of Brashers when I was younger and I literally wore them through after about two years of wearing every day). In about March 2022 the stitching went in on the right upper, the foam started to perish and the upper back of the heel wore through on both pairs (this is in part due to my laziness of not putting them on properly at times.

I had a look around at similar shoes (i.e. waterproof, but don't immediately look like walking shoes) and I've decided to get a pair of Country Roamers again.

My 2 year old Brasher split

Both left and right of my 2 year old Brasher Countrytrek boots split where the toe reinforcement ends on the inside. No longer waterproof. Disappointed because this is a design flaw as the material can't flex enough as foot bends.

£120 boots that last 13 months ?! And terrible customer service ? That’s Brasher !

I bought a pair of Brasher Womens Country Trekker boots from Millets in December 2020. They were a Christmas present for my wife so we’re not worn until January 2021. Whilst walking last week she complained that they were leaking and then noticed that the stitching was coming apart.

We took the boots to Millets who advised us to call the customer service (that’s a joke) department. Eventually we got through to the adviser who informed us that as the boots were just over 12 months old there was nothing that Millets could do - all they could do was say sorry and agree that it wasn’t good enough !

I then decided to contact Brasher directly, we have bought many pairs of Brasher boots in the past and have found them to be excellent. Well guess what ?! The number takes you through to the Millets No Customer Service team who must now own Brasher !!!

I was told again that as the boots were just over 12 months old there was nothing they good do. They wouldn’t even inspect them to determine the cause of the fault.

Only option we have is to go down the Consumer Rights act as it is just not acceptable for a pair of £120 boots to last just over 13 months.

I will never buy anything from Brasher, Blacks, Millets or Go Outdoors again :(

If I could give no stars I would have !

I Bought a pair of Barsher Event waterproof walking and all I got was wet feet is now the sole is coming away from the boots

I Bought a pair of Barsher Event walking boots to go walking occasionally in the lake district,I picked these boots because they where advertised and branded as water proof, the lake district is known for rain,I noticed on my first walk in the wet that they where leaving damp patches on my socks,I have now used the boots about a couple of dozen times,the vibram soles are near perfect,a pity that that can be said about the build quality,or lack of it ,the sole is now coming away from the boot ,clearly a manufacturing fault,now my feet are soaking wet when it rains,may as well walk in my socks
If I was any body else looking for a good pair of waterproof boots that cost well over £100 pound go to another manufacture and stay dry

Boots poor. Bad service

Bought a pair of boots from Brashers the company. Really good price. Really good delivery.
However thats where it ends.
Boots turned up promptly opened the new box and took out a pair of boots that were marked with black marks and scratches all over. That was bad enough but the rear join were the sole fits to the boot was poorly fitted. Very.
Wear these and they would come apart. How on earth they got past quality control.
Then the fun started. Contacted millets as it said on returns sheet. No joy. Could not even find my order. They did say send them to them at my cost but i was no way gonna trust them to do anything if they didnt recognise the order number.
Rang Bashers who eventually found order. Asked for photos. Sent and the lady on phone asked of they had been worn as they were in such a poorly state. Explained i had only received them that day.
Got told to send them in using the returns procedure and use the code that would be forwarded. No joy as the order number was not recognised again. Asked for a link to help got given a link to the Brashers return page. First link was a dead end second was a returns company that wanted paid up front first. No place to enter the code supplied.
Ended up travelling 30 mile round trip to exchange in go outdoors store.
Exchanged no problem but they didnt have my size in. "Can you call back and well order some" ?
No Ta.
Ended up paying more for an excellent pair of Scarpas. Much better.
Awful experience though.
Nice people on phone but they can only follow the companies systems and if they dont talk nowt gets done.
So now down half a day and 30 quids worth of juice.
Very poor

My 3rd pair of Brashers in 35 years

My 3rd pair of Brashers in 35 years
Finaly tracked down a pair of proper Brashers in something called a "SHOP" (The excellent Blacks, Chester). Tried others but Brasher just fit my shape foot and are one piece upper not 20 little bits of fabric that just don't hack it in boggy or rocky conditions.
They just fit me.
I noticed several negative reviews here were more about the retailers than Brasher.
In my experience both Millets and Go-Outdoors have proved to have a poor customer service record.
It seems ignorant to me to blame Brasher for a retailers inability to provide good after sales service.

Not the same company it used to bev

I paid for a pair of walking shoes on 22nd December 2021. I received a DHL tracking number and after checking it 4 days later DHL on their web site stated it was not a valid order. I eventually tracked down a customer contact number for Millets (by the way you think you are buying from Brasher but you are not) sent them an email, then miracle of miracles 10 minutes later I get and email saying the order has been lost by DHL. I called “millets” only to be told the shoes were not in stock which is a contradiction of the email and that they had sent a credit and I had to wait 5 days for it to clear from PayPal. The customer service is atrocious. Brasher used to be a trusted uk brand, in my view not anymore

Bought a pair of their walking trousers…

Bought a pair of their walking trousers from millets in Liverpool. 2 months later. Button has fell off and tearing at the seams. Customer service is useless and sends you around in circles generating the same reply!

Had my first pair of brashers for…

Had my first pair of brashers for nearly 20 years. No problems. This pair has lasted less than 15 walks. One of the eyelets has completely come out of the leather on doing up the laces. At £170 a pair this is robbery. Emailed customer care 29th November and still no reply. Awful customer care.

I cannot simply understand the reviews

I cannot simply understand the reviews. Im a delivery driver and wear my brashers all year round daily.
Dry, warm feet in perfect condition.
Ive the country masters, and just got a new pair for weekends when im not at work, the work ones have still plenty in them.
I can only think from the reviews, that maybe these boots like being used daily, maybe the moisture etc in the leather. A vehicle rusts if not used often. Just a theory. Ive had many a top quality boot Berghauss GTX was my fave. Not now, My Brashers knock spots off them. If i have a bad experience, with these new ones, ill review as nessecary. For between £100 and £170 for a years constant use, i think is ok for me.
Only bonus for me is, if bad reviews continue, prices will drop and ill get a bargain.

One Year and Water Ingress

Purchased a pair of Country Master Boots one year ago as moving to north of Scotland and anticipated big increase in rural daily miles with dog. So comfortable to the extent that I began to wear them on day long hill walks in preference to my Scarpas until November when a day walk in the Cairngorms had both my feet uncomfortably wet from only minimal snow showers on a good solid path base. Clearly there's water ingress from somewhere, one boot worse than the other. Bit disappointed and convinced that these boots, after a year, are only for dry Summer walking. Seems these days you have to spend well over £200 to get a reliable all season, all day pair of hill walking boots! Will see out Country Masters on dry dog walks but wouldn't venture into hills with them again.

My daughter brought a pair of brasher…

My daughter brought a pair of brasher boots to go to a volunteer post in rural Italy in August..They rubbed her heels from the stitching from the outset of walking in them . But she's never had trouble with boots before and walks a lot so she decided to persevere. Tonight I've had her on the phone crying. Her boots have created so much damage to the back of her heels she can't walk. Even though she covered the stitching from the beginning with plasters they have done so much damage..She's in the middle of nowhere and unable to walk and do her voluntary job or get to a town ( which is two train journeys away and a lift to the station))
I'm in England and feel totally powerless and really cross that I didn't force her to change them for another brand before she left.
The stitching down the back is raised on both heels. One is mich worse and that's the one that's caused her so much grief.
I didn't realise they weren't the sane brand that the name implied she believed were a good boot. Now I know they are not the original boot but have been relaunched and made in china I'm saddened to know they are not what my daughter thought they were by their name.

I was a big Brasher fan

I was a big Brasher fan, and was disappointed when they became unavailable two or three years ago. Delighted to hear that the brand has been relaunched I bought a pair. But recently I found myself in a hotel room attempting to superglue a section of the leather upper to the sole, so that the boot would last me until I got home. It's sad to see a manufacturer of poor quality items trading off a once loved and respected brand name. I won't be buying another pair.

Believing that Brasher were a respected…

Believing that Brasher were a respected brand and having owned a (still serviceable) pair for maybe 15yrs plus, I bought a new pair just before CV-19 arrived. Regrettably they have limited quality and are about to be discarded after very little use. They are falling apart and no longer waterproof. Buy something else more fit for purpose.

Poor quality control and slippery soles

I bought the the Brasher Country Roamer walking shoe in spring 2020. My first walk took me across wet ground, one of the shoes leaked badly around the stitching. These were eventually replaced by the supplier as they agreed that the shoe was faulty. The soles are incredible slippy on wet harder ground….in fact positively dangerous as I found to my cost while walking the South Downs way recently. The replacement pair now appear to leak…18months into their life. I would not recommend Brasher to anybody…not the manufacture quality that they used to be!

Faulty product & non-existent customer service

I bought a pair of Brasher walking boots for my wife about 18 months ago. They had very little wear last year but on getting them out of storage three of the lace eyelets had become detached. The Millets store where we bought them said they could not help and the email I sent Brasher's customer services in June has not been answered.
Having come to trust pilot to share my experience it seems I am not alone but also that Brasher online review team do in fact respond. I would be grateful if they did so in this case.

Painful Brasher hillmaster gtx boots

Bought a pair of Brasher hillmaster GTX boots , to replace my trusty but old and worn out Scarpas . Great looking sturdy boot but totally unbearable. I've had them for 18 months plus , worn them over field and dale , but every time after a mile or so the soles become unbearably painful to walk on , it feels as though I have a golf ball under the ball of my foot , took out the flimsy inner sole , and replaced it with a pair of quality inner soles....exactly the same ...bought even more expensive inner soles which I had a fitting for ..exactly the same . Very dissatisfied with the boots . Never had this with any other shoe or boot so presume it's a manufacturing defect . Suppliers dont want to know and , no response from Brasher . Couldn't reccomend any of their products.
