Bread Financial Cards are a Scam at Best

Got this card attached to B&H for video and photo purchases because they claimed to save you money with 0 interest for the first 12 months. What they DO NOT TELL YOU UPFRONT is that this is not 0% interest it is deferred interest that they hide in the small print to scam you. Once 12 months hit, they charge you a massive amount of interest and then claim you knew about it because they hide it in the small print. THEN, after calling them to get an adjustment for the false advertising where they refused, and after I filed a complaint against them with the CFPB, they have now refused to provide me with any customer service support. I received a letter in the mail noting that they would no longer be providing me with customer service support via phone or e-communications. This is NOT a way to treat a customer and I would warn ANYONE who is looking into their card DO NOT DO IT. This company is a scam at best.

Continue to take draft out of my bank…

Continue to take draft out of my bank account even though the product that was financed returned to company. They still are making unauthorized drafts. This company are thieves that prey on disabled senior citizens. BE WARNED AND BE AWARE.

Suddenly unable to make payments on my Caesars…

Unable to make payments on my Caesars Rewards Visa card, which has been bought out by Bread Financial recently. Attempted to call the number on the back of my Visa card but no answer! Unable to respond to or clink on any email links received from Bread Financial demanding my credit card payment.
Will be cancelling this card after I am able to make a payment d/t their lack of contacts or tech support.

Appears to be identical issues as with SYNCHRONY BANK

Appears to be identical issues as being reported in US & in UK about SYNCHRONY BANK. Both banks appear to be closing their credit card divisions by closing accounts even when payments made on time. Also no pattern to income levels of card holders. One pattern noted was that customers who made small purchases, suddenly found that their "available balance" was drastically reduced or their cards closed.....even though they DID have available balances of several thousand dollars and nothing else recently on the card. AND -- when "available balance" was reduced, it was then put as just above whatever item had been purchased (e.g. $10 purchase resulted in reduction from $5,000 limit down to something like $15 --- not an exaggeration).

I took out a loan

I took out a loan. I make my payments on time. I have had excellent service. They do remind me several times that the bill is due when it is close to my due date. If you pay two weeks in advance, you do not get those bill due notifications. I guess my experience with Bread financial is I don't mess with their money flow and they don't mess with me. We all have our problems in life and I pray that I do not have to see the negative side of Bread, but all in all so far so good.

It took 10 days to transfer funds

A few years ago, my wife and I opened a 12 month CD with Bread Savings (it was Comenity Direct Savings at the time.) We allowed the CD to each year because of a solid interest rate.
Everything was fine until we wanted to close the account and have the funds sent to our local bank and then it was a supreme pain! It took multiple phone calls and emails to finally get what was required to finally have the funds transfered to our local bank. From the time of requesting the funds to transfer until they were transfered was 10 days! Given the amount in the CD, we lost over $130 in interested due to their delayed process.

I used Bread to purchase hearing aids…

I used Bread to purchase hearing aids and connected my HSA debit card to the account. It worked fine until it was time to update the account with the unexpired card. The card info would not save/update. Spent HOURS on the phone with them and my bank, no resolution. One unpleasant customer service rep indicated he "though they no longer accepted those cards". If true, this was a terribly unprofessional way to handle the situation and now I'll spend a lot more than planned.

If I could give 0 starts I would

If I could give 0 starts I would. This place is the worse place, I went to pay off my account in full and close the account, I called to ask them what I need to pay so I won’t be charged again. I did everything they asked of me so I won’t be paying anything else. I close my account before making the last payment like they said to do. My account is closed but I am still paying for the interest of that bill even though I already paid it!! you guys are nothing but money hungry stupid and should be ashamed of yourself. I am writing this review so nobody will be surprised when they keep being charged for some bull!!

I applied for buy now pay later

I applied for buy now pay later. I closed my bank account. So no debit/credit cards/checks anymore, but A month ago I wrote them a check. It cleared the bank over a month ago. They cashed the check. They now start calling me 5-10 times a day stating I haven’t paid. So I told them that I did pay them off and they cashed the check. They lady told me that they don’t take checks but yes they did cash it and will hold for over 30days then rewrite you a check to send the amount back to you. Because we bread financial only take debit cards no checks or credit cards. But they cashed the check so why didn’t they apply it to my account as paid in full instead of playing games

Bread sucks --> Can't get any info - just want's fees

This bank bought out Comenity which was servicing my Dell account for years with no problem.

Now they give me a new account number and I must get that information before being able to pay my bill again. It's been two months and they still won't allow me to get the account set back up to pay it off.

I fear they may be just using this as a tactic to add on fees and charges. I may have to pay their HQ in Columbus, OH a little visit...

THE WORST BANK EVER

THE WORST BANK EVER. The excessive late fees, for 1 day past due date (in cases of emergencies). I applied for help to have payments split to close the account, once I paid the balance in full, I am still getting billed for fees, that they claim was not in the billing cycle. I will never apply for a card through this bank again!!!!!!

Bread Financial accounting fraud

Bread Financial who acquired Comenity Bank Credit Cards from Sephora an Ulta have a predatory accounting fraud scam and accounting abuse by charging paid and closed accounts "deferred interest" and a minimum $2 interest charge on zero balances and then late fees of $2/month on top of that, in perpetuity, many months after paying to zero. It is impossible to close the accounts with a zero balance. I have reported this fraud to BBBureau and to Classaction.org for a Florida Lawsuit. I have tried many times by phone to customer care to resolve this but I keep getting billed for their finance fees that never stop. They are defrauding many customers this way.

I would give it a 0 star if they had it. Problems with website, customer service can't help, and do not listen when you tell them I have tried that several times.
Closing the two accounts I have with them.
Would not advise any one to open and account with them.

After I upload the documents, it says, "Something went wrong" without pinpointing what it is. No matter how many times i refresh, update, or even take other photos, it still says the same. Completely useless crap.

WORST WEBSITE AND CS EVER

WORST WEBSITE AND CS EVER! I've been trying to view my statement on their credit card account for months now and nothing ever loads, says it can't connect to server. Also trying to pay this card is a joke if ever I try to edit the payment forget about it. Once the payment is submitted it IMPOSSIBLE TO EDIT THE PAYMENT AGAIN. I NOW HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE ORIGINAL PAYMENT POSTS TO THEN PAY THE BALANCE INSTEAD OF GETTING IT ALL DONE AT ONCE! WORST CARD EVER! THAT IS IF THEY EVER GET ON BOARD WITH CORRECTING THE MANY THINGS WRONG WITH THEIR WEBSITE!

It's been pretty good so far.

The savings accounts here are pretty good for its high APY. Online banking is simple and easy to use since they use Jack Henry's digital banking platform, used by other banks as well. They exchange forms by filling out PDFs and sending it to them as a message via online banking, which is old fashioned but reliable. Bank-to-bank transfers takes almost a week to complete. When I opened my accounts, there were technical problems that did not allow me to change the nicknames of my savings accounts, and the mobile app did not support longer passwords when the website did. These were both resolved after telling customer service about it. I have had no problems ever since.

Where do I even start with these scheisters?

First of all, I am not giving them one star. They do not deserve any stars; however, I am not permitted to give them a 0 or minus rating in this forum.

This company changes names like everyone changes underwear. Bread Financial is actually called Bread Financial Holdings, Inc. (BFH on the NY Stock Exchange). They were formerly known as Alliance Data Systems Corporation
(ADS on the NY Stock Exchange).
They are the umbrella organization that also owns the following companies and possibly others:

1. Comenity Bank (issues credit cards for Jareds and many more unsuspecting businesses). Comenity Bank has a domain name of comenity.net. If you try to access the domain comenity.COM you will be taken to breadfinancial.com. Score one for the hucksters!
2. Comenity Capital Bank - Bread Financial discloses on their web site that this company is an FDIC chartered bank; however, no such bank appears to exist. What does exist is a company called CCBank or Capital Community Bank, another Bread Financial affiliate. Score one more for the hucksters, lol!
3. CCBank (Capital Community Bank) offers financing for among other things, Solar Panel roofs.
That's right... score another one for the hucksters!
4. Alliance Data - I'll leave this one for somebody else

Personally, I was an unsuspecting victim of one of these sham companies that being Comenity Bank. I was offered a credit card with 6-month SAC financing for an expensive watch I purchased at Jared Jewelers. As soon as the first payment was due the problems began. I immediately paid off the balance and closed the account. Score one for the good guys, lol!!

I can go on forever however, you probably get the picture by now...

STAY FAR AWAY from these clowns! They will take all of your hard-earned bread!

Received pre-approval in the mail

Received pre-approval in the mail. Applied. Never heard back. Tried calling about 5x. Spoke with Kimberly and Tina last. They just forwarded me to a number that keeps hanging up. Super unprofessional. I make 400k and wasted my time with this unprofessional bank. I have an 800 credit score. Not sure what they used my data for.
