Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 123 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. People frequently struggled with payment problems, unexpected fees charged when dates failed to happen, and accounts being frozen arbitrarily without clear explanations. Customers also strongly complained about inconvenient date locations, poorly functioning matching algorithms, and frustrating communication barriers throughout the entire process. Though some people found the unique concept refreshing and much easier to use for intentional dating. Users deeply appreciated the straightforward approach that successfully avoids endless messaging and helps people discover interesting new places together. They felt it saved time compared to traditional platforms and offered a fun way to meet serious singles in person.

Absolutely awful

Absolutely awful, 14 dates agreed and 14 dates cancelled, some a few hours before. I honestly think the profiles and matches are fake. Only positive they always refund your money when you get cancelled, its truly awful

They exist because of canceled dates (money grab)

I understand that this app is quite different from regular dating apps. The concept seems good, but there’s a catch. The moment you get a match, you have to pay (and each date keeps getting more expensive because they seem to struggle with making a profit). You can either buy a single date token (1 date) or a bundle (3 dates). The bundle makes each date slightly cheaper. After that, you have a match, you’ve transferred your money, and now it’s just a matter of scheduling before your date is set.

In the following situations, you lose your money (in this case at least €11.50 per date):

1. If you bought a bundle (3 dates) and end up having a great date with someone you want to continue seeing, you lose the remaining 2 date tokens (€23). They cannot refund individual date tokens from a bundle purchase. So never buy a bundle, because this is clearly part of their business model.
2. If something happens within 24 hours before your date and you want to reschedule, your match can reject the reschedule request. You immediately lose your money and get blocked for 2 weeks.
3. If circumstances change and you no longer want to date, but you still have a date planned for, for example, next week, you can cancel it, but you still lose your money and get blocked immediately.
4. When you have a date and your date doesn't show up, they still keep your money and if you cancel it yourself because the date doesn't show up, they will keep the money and still ban you.

And another good thing to know. That first drink that is included in your date token, the bar/restaurant pays that themselves. Breeze pays nothing and tells them they bring 'new customers'. That makes the €11,50 even more suspicious.

In other words, Breeze seems very focused on taking money from users even though the service has not actually been delivered yet (the date never happened). Some people are already looking into whether all of this is even legally allowed. A large part of Breeze’s revenue is probably coming from canceled dates. So think carefully before deciding whether you really want to use this app.

And this is only the issue related to money. There are also many problems with matchmaking and people not even responding after a match. But making money from canceled dates is probably the worst part.

They use the slogan, "No Chat, Just Dates". But please, make it "No Chat, Just Money".

The date wanted to change the meeting date

The date wanted to change the meeting time. When I requested a change of time, it cancelled my date and kept my money. Avoid at all costs. You will get scammed like me. Feeling angry about the whole thing. Their help desk is a waste of time. Cuts you off without finishing the conversation

This is the way forward for these apps

This is the way forward for these apps. The fact that you pay for dates, not subscriptions means that your interests and the interests of the company are actually aligned, which isn't true for the other apps who's ideal customer pays a subscription every month and never meets anyone.
There are a few teething troubles, like the fact there's just not enough people on there yet and some of the venues are a bit suspect but those will hopefully be solved as the platform develops

I had the perfect date thanks to Breeze. We clicked instantly and the conversation flowed so naturally from the moment we met.

She’s genuinely the most amazing woman I’ve ever met and I love her so much already. We’re even planning to get married within the next year.

Thank you Breeze for bringing us together and changing out lives forever ❤️

I'm so glad I got the app before…

I'm so glad I got the app before reading the reviews. Maybe it's because I'm in London, but I've had a great experience so far! I've had a few dates, zero cancellations and great venues (one star removed because a couple of dates were in a basement bar in the height of summer!). A lot of the negative reviews seem to be from people who don't understand the fundamental principle of the app. This app isn't for you if you want loads of matches (the whole point is that you don't get as many matches - the pay off being that you get far fewer "lazy matches" compared to traditional sites), or if you want to chat before the date (literally the opposite of the point!). A couple of people have raised safety concerns about meeting without chatting, but personally I feel much safer meeting someone in a venue where all the staff know you're on a first date! As a woman this adds a layer of security in case anything felt off. That feels a lot less risky than relying on your ability to spot red flags in a pre date text conversation (I'm sure most genuine predators are good at hiding it!!).

Issue

Good idea.
Poorly designed
Doesn't give enough time to answer for any potential dates as gives 48 hours notice which isn't enough time.
Issue with payment option only accepts one method which is card instead of the three that is listed on app which resulted in profile being frozen due to having to cancel potential dates cause of the payment issue.
Waste of time finding out later stage.
Users should be told of the error beforehand.

Extremely Bad, like disgusting bad

Very bad, I don’t think is good at all and the fact that they have control who you they think you like and you have to keep paying. You can’t do anything and you pay for people that picture are like 15 years old and money Is a money making business for breeze, not a match making app or dating app. Absolutely rubbish and I will actually recommend that you better of any other dating app. All they do is take your money and do a group dating in a single location. Make dating uncomfortable as well. I actually think they should be reported to a regulated body. Breeze is a Scam

Do you enjoy having your time wasted?

Do you enjoy having your time wasted?
Do you get satisfaction from committing to something, then wriggling out of it at the last minute?
If so, step this way - Breeze needs you!

It seems the £9.50 currently required upfront to show your commitment isn't enough, and with Breeze allowing people to reschedule right up until 4 hours before the date, the reality is a wallet full of refunded date tokens.

Breeze support says "We have introduced a stricter adjustment policy, but we do still allow users to reschedule and cancel the date on the day-of, as no-shows would otherwise happen far more often, unfortunately."

This tells you everything you need to know about their business model, which of course favours profit over people. (They're a private company, after all...)

Breeze care about having as many app users as possible, regardless of the quality.

Breeze profit anyway - whether the date goes ahead or not.

Breeze are clearly very aware that most dates never actually make it into the real world - and they are trying to keep this fact hidden on the app, rather than show it plainly by allowing the no-shows to happen.

They correctly identified the issues with modern dating. It is human behaviour that's causing the failures, but Breeze don't want you to know this - they just want your money. It's not in their interest to penalise bad behaviour, because it reduces their total number of app users.

The app is confusing

The app is confusing. You only have 2 days to confirm a match, which assumes that you are not busy and you have signal (I was away on holiday and got a match. It froze me out of the account).

It cancels dates or makes you rearrange them yourself, and rather than giving a refund, it just gives you ‘half a token’ which you can use on future dates.

It is also expensive. £10 per date is a lot of money, when you are limited on drink and location choices and drink options.

Yes the lack of small talk a straight to dates is a good concept but it is not well done.

Great experience so far

Great experience so far. I have been on/off using dating apps for 10 plus years. Found traditional dating apps so exhausting and draining. Endless messaging with no dates or if you do finally go on a date, you’ve built it up too much in your head and then there is no connection, attraction or spark which can feel so disappointing. This is such a breath of fresh air. Have been on 2 dates in my first week and both were really nice respectful guys who seem to actually be looking for something more serious. Time will tell if things progress further with someone, but so far this is an good app for me. Also, really like that the venue is all planned and booked for you. Takes the stress out of dating.
