Brightside - HORRIBLE!!!!!!

I was looking for a therapist and decided to try Brightside after seeing them pop up online and seeming like a good option for remote therapy. Boy was I WRONG. This company is so disorganized and anytime I had to contact them, it was a slow and painful process to get a response. Once I finally scheduled an intake session with a therapist, I had my session. The therapist seemed a little rushed, and then at the end when I spoke about scheduling my first full session, he brought up to me that the sessions could be less time too, that I didn't need to feel compelled to fill the sessions. That comment and suggestion was very off-putting to me to have a therapist encouraging me to speak less. Then came our first appointment and he cancelled minutes before our session because of an emergency. I'm reasonable and understood and rescheduled. But to add insult to it, Brightside then charged me a $90 no show fee for the session the therapist couldn't make. Then I was on hold for nearly an hour to get it reversed. Then when the reschedule date came, the therapist cancelled again last minute. Having been fooled twice by this therapist, I decided Brightside was not the answer and found a local therapist instead. Then, 2 months after the intake visit, they sent me a bill for $131. I called and asked about it since it was months later, especially after the bad service, and they said that it took them that long to bill. Horrible company to avoid unless you want them to charge you for services they don't provide.

At first I absolutely loved it

At first I absolutely loved it. I would have given 10/10 stars but as I went along I had more and more problems and they have not been resolved even now. I'm disappointed and frustrated because after my first lesson, which I loved and was counting on as part of my treatment and therapy, the rest have remained locked and unavailable to me even after 5 or 6 weeks. I also had trouble with scheduling appointments and the app would only let me choose from about 2 weeks out and I needed a month out with my psychiatrist. And my other issue is that my psychiatrist made several mistakes with my medication and if ended up costing me more than double the money just to end up being on the same dosage instead of bumping up the dose as she intended to do. I'm trying to stick with the recommended 12 weeks of therapy and I'm committed to stay with Brightside but hope these things can get worked out. I like the psychiatrist and I like the therapist and I like what you have to offer over all but it's failing in certain areas. But I do hope it gets addressed.

Don't trust their psychiatric practice if you have adhd.

This review is about the psychiatric part of their business. They aren't respectful of their patients time and they don't screen the patient's answers to their questions. I was looking for a psychiatrist for help in treating my adhd which includes medication. Brightside came up on a google search. On their main webpage, it talks about their psychiatry/therapy model and I elected that. It never said on this page that they don't prescribe controlled substances. As i was booking an appointment, they asked me to fill out a questionaire. My first answer is I need help with medication, and i gave the specific name of the drug. This is a drug they won't prescribe, because they use Nurse Practioners generally in their psychiatry practice. But their site asked me many questions - approximately 30 minutes of questions. I kept thinking is this ever going to end. Then I got to the appointment, and the rude nurse practioner said we can't help you. She said she tried to contact me through their website by email. I tried to get into their email 3 separate times, and it wasn't working right. My therapist, who I like said "It has glitches all the time." Why they couldn't call me, I don't know. They don't respect their patients time. And the Nurse Practioner just shrugged. Also, they cherry pick the reviews the post on their website. They use AI to do a lot of things, some well, but not in a good way.

We aim to be transparent about the services and medications we provide. Information about ADHD treatment and the medications we prescribe—including limitations around controlled substances—is available on our website, including here:

Many of the questions in our intake process are clinically and legally required and must be reviewed by a licensed practitioner before medication decisions can be made. While we understand this can feel time-consuming, these steps are in place to support patient safety and appropriate care.

We’re sorry for the frustration related to communication and technical issues. That is not the experience we strive to provide, and we understand how disappointing it can be to invest time and then learn we’re not the right fit for your needs. Your feedback regarding outreach methods and respect for patients’ time has been noted and shared with our team.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE IF YOU VALUE YOUR MENTAL HEALTH! Front office is completely unorganized and plain stupid. They play musical therapists with you. If the therapist quits, they don’t even tell you; they just put you with a new one! Poof, there goes the relationship with your therapist! Seriously, there are so many therapy clinic out there. These people are a joke!

Resolved issue with billing.

*Edit*

I posted a not so great review of my experience with Brightside a few days ago. After speaking with the support team I was reimbursed a portion of my monthly payment that was billed incorrectly. I would leave 5 stars, but I do feel like the 4 is deserved in regard to customer support availability and response time as well as the app format and usability.

A scam

A scam.

$352 for a 15 minute Psych session where I was prescribed medicine within the first 5 minutes. I am guessing the doc gets a kick back from the drug companies. Why else would you ignore my needs and go right to drugs.

I then cancelled appointment my other appointment to the tune of $175.

Another example of terrible medical services in our country.

Kelli Soto is awesome

Kelli Soto is awesome, she is so sweet and very caring. She remembers me and is rooting for me. I have improved sooo much with her care, way more than I have with any other provider, she believes less is more and is not trying to just prescribe any and everything.
