TALK THERAPY WITH KATHY REED

Kathy Reed is very helpful, considerate, and kind. Along with the talk therapy, I find the videos and practice exercises also really helpful. They allow me to learn, think, process, and absorb everything at my own pace. Thank you, Kathy and Brightside.

False advertisement

You guys give a quote of $0 payment and $0 copay than hit me with a $370 bill and tell me to ask my insurance, insurance says they can’t tell me till you bill them. If I had more time, energy, and money I’d contact a lawyer because how this isn’t a false advertisement scam is beyond me. I’d rather just be depressed than depressed and broke. The therapist was great but your monthly subscription scam and lies on what it would cost monthly to get people to sign up is pretty pathetic.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand how upsetting unexpected medical bills can be, especially when you’re seeking mental health support.

The cost shown during signup is an estimate, not a guarantee of final charges. We let members know that this estimate may be impacted by their deductible status and other insurance plan details. Because insurance plans apply benefits differently, the final amount owed is determined by the insurer once a claim is processed. For the most comprehensive cost information, we include this disclaimer and encourage members to contact their insurance provider directly at time of sign up and prior to starting care.

If you have any additional questions about costs associated with your care we would be happy to respond at support@brightside.com.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - SCAM. I had scheduled an appointment with Brightside and changed my mind well prior to the cancellation window. I then noticed that they had made an unauthorized charge for $350 over a week before the appointment was to take place. I contacted them to receive a refund, to which they agreed I would be getting back. After that, I never heard back, never received a refund, and only after going through the process of reporting it to my bank as fraud did they finally respond saying they would refund me. Save yourself the time and go elsewhere. To do this to individuals already clearly struggling with their mental health is beyond me. Shame on them.

Brightside has some potential

Brightside has a lot going for it — lots of different providers with ample availability and a clean, intuitive digital platform that is easy to use. However, maybe it all seems a little too easy for a reason. My therapist is solid, but my psychiatrist no-showed my last appt and was late to the appt before that. I was also told my appointments would be a set charge with my insurance (for me, $25/visit). I’ve currently had four appointments, but my credit card has been charged $25 six times. (Yes, they make you put a credit card on file.) They say they’ll get back to you with billing questions within 72 hours, but it’s been almost a week and I’ve heard nothing. Seems like they need to tighten up their corporate operations a bit.

Reservation system makes me want to quit Brightside

I don’t know what is wrong with the reservation system but it always has the wrong reservation or no reservation at all for my therapy appointments. I pay $400 out of pocket every month and I average two therapist appointments per month due to scheduling errors with the system. I’m not getting my promised help for the money I’m being charged. I want to quit Brightside.

Brightside got rid of my therapist and…

Brightside got rid of my therapist and didn’t bother to notify me. They just cancelled my appointments and added a new therapist to my portal with no explanation. Then they sent out a very generic email saying she would no longer be working for them. I called Brightside to find out what was going on and had yet to receive a phone call back even though I was promised one.

We’re sorry for the frustration caused by this experience. Providers may occasionally leave Brightside unexpectedly for a variety of reasons. When this occurs, we make efforts to notify members and are currently reviewing our communications to ensure notifications were sent as intended.

For privacy reasons, we’re unable to share personal details regarding a therapist’s departure. Our goal in assigning a new provider is to support continuity of care with minimal disruption. We also regret the delay in follow-up after your call and are addressing this internally.

I was having a hard time

I was having a hard time, I decided to reach out did a quick google search and I found an amazing therapist who I see weekly. Definitely helped me mentally more than I could ever imagine and I was able to do it from the comfort of my own home and that was important to me because I was in my safe space I was able to express myself properly.

First appointment the provider never…

First appointment the provider never showed so I was rescheduled. That appointment went fine. Then I was double charged for one appointment and their service center told me multiple times I would be contacted. I was never contacted and was given the run around after multiple follow ups. I feel I left in worse shape than when I started.
