I have been doing therapy and I love it! Was it always this easy? If I knew how helpful it would be, I would have done it much sooner. The medical appointments are a little iffy. The prescriptions get... See more

Easy, timely, and they listen!
I was able to set up appointments quickly, and providers were available immediately for therapy as well as to assess for my medication needs. Both providers I have used have really listened and been a delight to work with.
Therapist cancelling apts and then going out of office without communicating
Saw two different therapists on this app and neither were good experiences! The first one only wanted to schedule 1 time a month which is okay but I was wanting weekly- biweekly check ins but she said no and I was fine with a visit in 3 weeks. I rescheduled with another provider who could meet earlier just to try to see if someone else was a better fit but this one was a lot worse. The consultation was 30 minutes and went okay. We scheduled for the next week and she said she needed to leave the session after ten minutes to not feeling great which I of course said was okay and we could just try again next week. She scheduled me for 9pm at night which I thought was interesting but just said okay and prepared to stay up a little later to have the appointment. That night 2 hours before the appointment time I get a notification that my appointment had been canceled with no message from my therapist or any communication as to reschedule or clarify the cancellation. The next night I get an email saying my therapist was out of office on her scheduled holiday break from that previous day (the day the appointment was scheduled until January 5th) This was a 3 weeks vacation which is also fine but I just don’t understand why she would schedule me if she had prior knowledge she couldn’t make it to this appointment and on top of that, not communicate with me about cancelling it or trying to reschedule if she realised it later on. The following day I receive an unprompted message from her saying that she’s on break and if I need to talk to someone before she gets back to find another therapist. Overall, communication was horrible with no accountability or commitment to their scheduled times.

Terrible experience
Terrible experience. I signed up for an appointment and a therapy session. Im already depressed and anxious and thought I would give it a try. They will not tell you how much your appointment will be ahead of time and I signed up thinking I would find out when I finished signing up. No, they said they couldn't tell me ahead of time. I did not know if I had the money for either appointment which is part of my anxiety at this time and when I canceled they attempted to charge me 120 for one appointment and 165 for another. No services were provided and the appointments were the same day that I even looked into it so there was no way to give the "24 hour" cancelation. They keep trying to draw money out of my account for services that were not provided because they would not tell me how much my appointment would be. This is just awful business practices. Awful. To try to take money from a person who already works herself to death and is stressed out about money anyway and canceled the appointments because she wasn't told how much the appointment would be ahead of time and didnt know if she would have the funds for it. This practice should be illegal.

The billing system is a total scam
The billing system is a total scam. I have emailed my conversations showing i canceled 24 hours before and they said thats fine and I wouldn't get charged.
They waited til the 1st of the year to charge my flex spending weeks after the appointment and after showing them all the emails about canceling.
Terrible and unprofessional company.
STAY AWAY

Unexpected Billing Issues- still unresolved
When I booked the initial appointment, it appeared that my insurance was accepted. Minutes after booking, my primary care provider confirmed they would be prescribing my medication, so I attempted to cancel the Brightside appointment immediately. However, the system would not allow cancellation due to the 24-hour policy, even though the appointment had just been scheduled.
After the visit, I received an Explanation of Benefits showing I would be responsible for $388 because the provider was out of network. Once I learned this, I canceled the follow-up appointment approximately 23.5 hours in advance, yet was still charged a cancellation fee. I contacted support, submitted documentation, and requested review, but more than a week later the billing issue remains unresolved.

I cant get into my portal and ,of course, cant speak to an actual human. Didn't feel ANY bedside manner whatsoever. I never leave bad reviews but I had to this time. Mental health is NO JOKE!!!

TOTAL INCOMPETENCE
I recently moved to TX and needed to find a psychiatrist to prescribe medications I am currently on and need to continue. My NY doctor couldn't continue prescribing across state lines now that I've officially moved out of state. I found Brightside online, so I looked for a phone number to set up an appointment, but I couldn't find one. Everything needed to be filled out online. So, I filled out a detailed profile, stating my need for a psychiatrist that can prescribe certain medications. They immediately "matched" me with someone and I set up an appointment. I hadn't realized they matched me with a psychologist at the time. I assumed they knew what I needed and matched me accordingly. MISTAKE. But I quickly realized the mistake and tried to cancel it. I tried numerous ways to contact them within the permissible time frame but was unable to get anyone on the phone and never got a response to the messages I sent.
Therefore, out of courtesy to the therapist, I showed up to the online appointment only to let the provider know that I had tried to cancel. He told me he had already been contacted and wasn't expecting me but had left his computer on just in case. I, on the other hand, was never notified that my messages had been received and therefore showed up. He began asking me questions and talking about my needs for a good half hour (much more than I planned on staying on the phone), but said since he can't prescribe medication, he was unable to help me (which I knew from the start). He even acknowledged that the "match" was a mistake.
I received a bill for the visit and ended up paying $25. I later found out that the medicine I need and put in my profile could not be provided by ANYONE in their group. At that point I felt deceived and that I deserved a refund. I tried calling the number on my bill, but I was put on an interminable hold, so I finally gave up. Eventually I found an email and wrote to billing explaining my situation and they said they would not give me a refund since I had a session and that the therapist needed to get paid. I agree, but it shouldn't be me paying the bill. It should be Brightside. Moral of the story: STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!

Really poor response time to inquiries…
Really poor response time to inquiries about billing issues. I messaged 2 weeks ago and it still isn’t resolved. There should be a non-AI option for billing issues.
