The content is fun to work though and the range of courses is excellent. I had a bit of an issue with almost getting charged for a year subscription, but after a quick email it was resolved. I only ga... See more

Brilliant helps learners achieve much higher levels of ability in STEM, in less time, with more purpose and joy. Its content spans algebra, programming, and other quantitative problem solving across math and computer science. Brilliant’s lessons prioritize visual representations and active learning. Lessons build intuition with visual explanations, hands-on manipulation, and concrete computation. Brilliant doesn’t teach how to do something before asking questions—instead, it lets learners try to find a solution before learning the procedure. Every lesson has associated practice sets. For personalized practice, Brilliant predicts the optimal next problem to ask, so that learners are adequately prepared to answer future questions. This includes spaced repetition in weak areas and mixing practice problems from different concepts, so that learners must identify what approach to use to solve each problem, rather than just applying the same procedure to every problem. Brilliant’s courses are crafted by multiple IMO medalists and PhDs from MIT, Caltech, Stanford, and Harvard. Brilliant serves people who take pride in having a well-trained mind—students seeking to excel in STEM, professionals learning new skills or refreshing dormant ones, and lifelong learners staying sharp. Brilliant’s optimized learning experience is not only effective, interactive, and adaptive—it’s also fun. The gamification layer provides scaffolding for motivation and habit formation. This provides another tool to help learners stick with learning even in the absence of tutors or parents who help foster motivation. The content itself is also designed to feel fun—from the pedagogical design of the interactives and problem progression, to the types of sounds, feedback, and haptics as learners interact and progress through levels of progressively more difficult problem solving in a topic.

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. I signed up with the trial, to see if they had any courses on react native, which they didnt, and so i didnt use the 7 day trial at all. I thought i cancelled the subscription, but later found out something went wrong in the cancellation, and so i've been charged for a year (almost 1000 dkk) subscription. I wrote the customer support 2-3 days after being charged, asking for a refund, since i havent used it at all, and that the purchase what a mistake. All that was thrown back in my face was that its in their terms of use, and that they wont give me my money back. Terrible customer service, i dont suggest even trying the service, as you might end up getting stuck paying very large amounts of money you didnt mean to, with zero understanding from the company.

They lure you in with a free trial
They lure you in with a free trial, but then make it impossible to cancel. Once the trial ends, you’re hit with a non-refundable €117 charge. And of course, customer support doesn’t care—just a generic “sorry, but our policy doesn’t allow refunds.”

Defiantly worth the price for premium
Defiantly worth the price for premium. Great for advanced maths learners. Even the free version is very good, you can do most of the courses but are only limited to 2 lessons per day (the paid version is unlimited)

Title: Beware of Billing Issues!
I want to share my experience with this app because it's important for others, particularly students, to be aware. I canceled my subscription, yet I was billed anyway!
This is incredibly frustrating, especially when you're trying to stick to a budget. It seems like they might charge you even after cancellation, so I recommend budgeting for double the expected cost just to be safe.
Don’t expect an easy path to a refund either. It feels like there's little accountability here. Proceed with caution!

Forced payment after 14-day trial – complete disregard for customers
I signed up for Brilliant.org’s 14-day free trial as a student, with very limited funds. Because my email inbox was full, I didn’t receive any notifications that my trial was ending. On 15 August, they automatically charged my account without warning.
I contacted Brilliant.org on 18 August requesting a refund, explaining that I could not afford the subscription and had never intended to continue using the service. Instead of any real assistance, I received an automatic reply refusing my request.
This is not just inconvenient – it is coercive. The company pressures users into paying for services they do not want or cannot afford, showing zero flexibility or empathy. Their behavior blatantly ignores consumer protection rights, and it directly contradicts their image as a “friendly” and “growth-oriented” platform.
Brilliant.org forces users into unwanted payments and ongoing subscriptions, which is unacceptable. They need to take real responsibility and respect users’ rights, especially those in genuine financial difficulty.

BEWARE THEIR "TRIAL" PERIOD...
KEEP YOUR CREDIT CARD SAFE...
BEWARE BRILLIANT.ORG APP
CANCEL YOUR "TRIAL" PERIOD BEFORE IT CHARGES YOU A YEAR WORTH OF SUBS!
They will charge you an annual fee of $200+ NON-REFUNDABLE (priced as $17.49 a month) after the short trial period.
There is no choice or option to select your subscription length after your trial period.
They will instantly charge you a FULL year, no refund. They then hide behind their 'Terms and Services' comments like its moral shield. It doesn't pass the Pub Test... Very cheecky business practiceses

If you give Brilliant your credit card…
If you give Brilliant your credit card I can assure that you be sorry. They have a 30 free trial but will not refund your $129 under any circumstances. I spent a few minutes on the app and tried to cancel. NO refunds! These folks are complete scammers. Be brilliant and don't do business with weasels.

the courses are clunky the site buggy and the staff disinterested
I find that the courses don't give enough instruction. they seem to leave it to you to figure it out, which may be a teaching technique, but can be a bit soul destroying. also the site is buggy if you use pc and windows. and support is uninterested and inept. I was quite enthusiastic to begin with. but three months in all the joy has been crushed out of me.

Sandy got us through a tedious process of adding a new member
I had trouble renewing my annual plan as I wanted to add an extra family member, then turned out the prices had shifted and finally I had an issue with a rejected card due to several payment intents. Through all the process, that hadn't been fast, I was attended by Sandy who was always kind and helpful and when things had to shift to other support teams she kept me informed and I felt truly supported. Finally everything seems sorted out and we can get back to using the App itself that for us each of us has been useful in different ways - learning new stuff, refreshing old, seeing a different perspective, all counts.

I had accidently made multiple accounts and then lost access to the emails I had used to sign in to them, and Sandy was SO helpful in getting my account logins fixed, streamlined and got me back to learning. I even was able to keep all of my progress and streaks.
Thank you!

A lot of the answers are wrong
A lot of the answers are wrong. They use the incorrect more/less than sybol often.
There are algebra questions that dont conpute.
There are whole sections such as Venn diagrams that are completely wrong.
I am finding myself reporting a mistake within every few levels. Would not recommend paying for this as it teaches the wrong things.
