The content is fun to work though and the range of courses is excellent. I had a bit of an issue with almost getting charged for a year subscription, but after a quick email it was resolved. I only ga... See more

Brilliant helps learners achieve much higher levels of ability in STEM, in less time, with more purpose and joy. Its content spans algebra, programming, and other quantitative problem solving across math and computer science. Brilliant’s lessons prioritize visual representations and active learning. Lessons build intuition with visual explanations, hands-on manipulation, and concrete computation. Brilliant doesn’t teach how to do something before asking questions—instead, it lets learners try to find a solution before learning the procedure. Every lesson has associated practice sets. For personalized practice, Brilliant predicts the optimal next problem to ask, so that learners are adequately prepared to answer future questions. This includes spaced repetition in weak areas and mixing practice problems from different concepts, so that learners must identify what approach to use to solve each problem, rather than just applying the same procedure to every problem. Brilliant’s courses are crafted by multiple IMO medalists and PhDs from MIT, Caltech, Stanford, and Harvard. Brilliant serves people who take pride in having a well-trained mind—students seeking to excel in STEM, professionals learning new skills or refreshing dormant ones, and lifelong learners staying sharp. Brilliant’s optimized learning experience is not only effective, interactive, and adaptive—it’s also fun. The gamification layer provides scaffolding for motivation and habit formation. This provides another tool to help learners stick with learning even in the absence of tutors or parents who help foster motivation. The content itself is also designed to feel fun—from the pedagogical design of the interactives and problem progression, to the types of sounds, feedback, and haptics as learners interact and progress through levels of progressively more difficult problem solving in a topic.

I really like the app and the interactive learning experience, I have been a long time brilliant user myself, and I sometimes use brilliant for educators in my class. Their approach towards ideas also helps me as an educator in simplifying or staggering some concepts with increasing difficulty. I even often enjoy doing some of the simpler courses to stay sharp and fast instead of just going on a mindless doom scroll.
The customer service is great and prompt in their replies and in taking action.
I wish they'd go back to adding many science and advanced physics courses as I truly enjoyed these, but the app has been skewed more towards Math, Data Science, and Computer science lately.
What a great experience!
My experience with this company was probably different than most. Someone hacked my Google account and used my linked payment method for some unauthorized purchases. Brilliant.org charged me $141 for a membership that I did not order. There were three other unauthorized purchases in large amounts made to other places as well. Brilliant.org responded to my email about this promptly and actually resolved the issue that I had within 24 hours. They refunded my PayPal account. The full account without question. I homeschool my son and will be looking to use them in the very near future and hope to add to my five star review. Great company to deal with!
Helpful tool and customer support
It requires that you being the adult assist your child in learning the concepts before a full on tutorial from the app be used as an independent learning tool. At least this was the case with my son the few tries he had on the program. Otherwise very helpful customer service and speedy response!
I love this software
I love this software. It is so much fun! I use it with my students now and they love the days they get to solve Brilliant puzzles.
DON’T TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGEPOLE!!!
DON’T TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGEPOLE!!!
They charge far too much for what they give you access to, then go rather quiet around renewal time - taking payment without any notice. To take the biscuit, when you then cancel the said subscription ( within minutes of the PayPal notification ), they remove the refund link from your account and when you go searching for it, you’re presented with a policy page stating: WE ALMOST NEVER REFUND!!! Not the type of company I want anything to do with.🤔

WARNING STAY AWAY!
WARNING STAY AWAY!! Free trial in order to get your info then they bill you for a year subscription that you never agree to.
They refuse to issue a refund although you never signed up for a year at 129.50.
BRILLIANT THIEVES, STAY AWAY PLEASE !!

Solid customer service experience
Solid customer service experience. Received a respond within 24 hours. They were empathetic and gave me the exact resolution I was after! No negotiating no back and forth.
I also recommend to app as I subscribed 2 times in a row back to back.

Questionable renewal rules
I had signed up for an automatic renewal when I started this subscription.
I received notice of my renewal after they had charged my account. When I called to cancel my renewal, I was told there would be no refund due me even though I wouldn't be using their site any longer. A $129 charge for a web site I'm not using. Bad business practice.

I signed up for a one month trial
I signed up for a one month trial.
I received a notification that a subscription fee would be applied after the month's trial. I did not use their website so I tried to cancel my subscription.
The instructions on their app was clear but my card details was not shown on their subscription page and there wanno link to cancel. My bank had confirmed that Brilliant had verified my bank details.
I emailed their help site and requested my subscription be cancelled and my account be deleted. They replied within an hour but directed me to use the app!!
To avoid having a payment my bank has blocked any request from Brilliant.
I would hope that Brilliant based on my experience and many others on trustpilot rectify this issue on their site

Great learning and things
Be careful with the "free" plan
If you accidentally buy a subscription there is about zero chance to cancel it before it takes money from you.
It is really a cheap scheme coming from a big and famous company it is a shame.

Absolute scammers
Absolute scammers. Their app used to be ok but has been surpassed by far more effective AI teaching tools. My 11yo son hasn’t used it in quite some time. He doesn’t have the iPhone he originally used it on and I no longer have the debit card. In fact, I can find no trace of an active subscription or renewal notice. I found a transaction in my bank for £80+. I requested a refund, which I assumed would be automatic given they can see that the app/subscription hasn’t been used in quite some time. They’ve point-blank refused to refund it, saying that they’ve got a no refund under any circumstances listed somewhere in the terms that my son (who was nine at the time) agreed to, which reeks of desperation from a company that’s on the decline and wants to grab money in any way it can, no matter how unethical. If they knew they had a viable future then they’d be worried about the reputational harm that would result in this. I’ll now pursue it with my bank.

Shady automatic renewals 2 years in a row after I already canceled. Content is okay. Good for scaffolding progress, but not so deep. After the first year, 260 bucks for nothing. I hope they don't charge me again!

You will love being (self) educated in things, You hated before! Everything is nicely described and visualised, if possible. When you feel uncertain sometimes, don't hesitate to repeat a lesson. It's quite expensive, but honestly this cost less than a lot of our guilty pleasures, we enjoy.

Engaging material, good customer service. Some confusion regarding group vs family plans.
Excellent material, interesting and engaging even for kids. In the science section maybe it would be nice to have something also related to biology/life sciences.
I can only complain about some confusion between offers for group and family plans. I seemed to be offered only group plans initially, depending on accessing from a sponsor link or not. Eventually I was offered a family plan, which was much more convenient than the group plan. I had an issue about mistakenly subscribing from my kid's account and customer service promptly helped to fix the issue.

Best costumer service
Best costumer service!
Helped me with my special request immediately and were super nice too.
My Experience - It's too elementary and their refund policy is awful!
I signed up for this because I believe in supporting non-profit work. In addition, I assumed that it would be a great way to learn Python. I was wrong!
To get the benefit of the learning path, you're encouraged to subscribe to their premium plan, but you do have the option to cancel.
I tried it out, and it was too "gamey". It felt like something my kids would like, and not an adult. I was very disappointed. During the time I subscribed, I had a loss in my family and was responsible for planning the funeral. I simply forgot to cancel and received a notification that I was being charged the fee.
In a panic, I went to cancel, but per their policy, they don't give refunds, even in extenuating circumstances such as mine. I offered to provide an obituary and was told, "Sorry for your loss, but we can't cancel per the policy".
Again, if you're an adult using this platform to learn, don't do it, and beware of their policy.
