The content is fun to work though and the range of courses is excellent. I had a bit of an issue with almost getting charged for a year subscription, but after a quick email it was resolved. I only ga... See more

Brilliant helps learners achieve much higher levels of ability in STEM, in less time, with more purpose and joy. Its content spans algebra, programming, and other quantitative problem solving across math and computer science. Brilliant’s lessons prioritize visual representations and active learning. Lessons build intuition with visual explanations, hands-on manipulation, and concrete computation. Brilliant doesn’t teach how to do something before asking questions—instead, it lets learners try to find a solution before learning the procedure. Every lesson has associated practice sets. For personalized practice, Brilliant predicts the optimal next problem to ask, so that learners are adequately prepared to answer future questions. This includes spaced repetition in weak areas and mixing practice problems from different concepts, so that learners must identify what approach to use to solve each problem, rather than just applying the same procedure to every problem. Brilliant’s courses are crafted by multiple IMO medalists and PhDs from MIT, Caltech, Stanford, and Harvard. Brilliant serves people who take pride in having a well-trained mind—students seeking to excel in STEM, professionals learning new skills or refreshing dormant ones, and lifelong learners staying sharp. Brilliant’s optimized learning experience is not only effective, interactive, and adaptive—it’s also fun. The gamification layer provides scaffolding for motivation and habit formation. This provides another tool to help learners stick with learning even in the absence of tutors or parents who help foster motivation. The content itself is also designed to feel fun—from the pedagogical design of the interactives and problem progression, to the types of sounds, feedback, and haptics as learners interact and progress through levels of progressively more difficult problem solving in a topic.

Exceeded My Expectations
I started using Brilliant because I recognized that I needed to refresh on, shore up, and strengthen my foundational skills in math and computer science. I did have high expectations but did not believe they would be exceeded. The content and its visual presentation has truly helped deepen and extend my understanding and insight into these fundamentals. I look forward to every session and, given all of the other interesting topics, to all of the future understanding the platform will help me unlock. If you need to shake off the rust, fill in holes, deepen your understanding, and expand your foundational knowledge base, you have to give Brilliant a try.
Last thing, in an era where customer service is hit or miss, their’s is a definite hit—pleasant and responsive.

I would give it a negative rating if I could.
I canceled after 3 days because the lessons were unhelpful too simple.
They refused a refund citing their terms of use policy.
I would be very careful about this site, also there is no one to answer the phone posted on their website.
Seems like a scam!

I enjoyed my time using the site to explore new ideas to engage myself and my students in secondary and post secondary mathematics education.

Fantastic customer service
Fantastic customer service! I sent an email and, within 20 minutes, received a reply that addressed my issue. No AI, no case #, no link to pages that had nothing to do with my issue. I'm really amazed -- and happy!

Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. Refunds are impossible besides under some super exceptional circumstance.
The courses are also super basic, pick up any elementary book and you will learn much more.

Avoid Brilliant.org - it’s a money driven scam
Like several others who’ve had the misfortune of subscribing to this service, I followed their instructions to the letter when I attempted to cancel their annual membership. So far, they’ve made a total of 11 attempts to bill my credit card even after I cancelled my subscription. This organization cannot be trusted and I see no value in ever doing business with them ever again. My advice - avoid brilliant.org like the plague!! As for my next steps, I’m going to the BBB!

Shady subscriptoin renew
Brilliant.org charged me for annual subscription without notice, and refused a refund. And even canceled our subscription. Support won’t help. Shady behavior. Never buy annual subscription”

Complete scam and waste of money
Complete scam and waste of money. I can for sure do a reclaim on my card. They accept credit cards and there is no way to cancel (emails are conveniently not adhered to). Here's what I would do: contact the bank, show them that I cancelled and ask for a reclamation. Waste of time, and additional effort.
That being said, this is an "educational" platforms with pathetic morals - why and what would I trust them to teach? Nope!

Don't touch it.
I had the same experience as other 1 star reviewers here. The free trial is like a trap. If £100 makes a difference to you, don't touch it.

Thank you Brilliant
When first time i saw this app on play store i was shocked. The idea behind it was magnificent. But I doubt that they can make it real, spoiler alert: they did.
The topics are Brilliant, and wide. From it to art to mathematics.
I'm from Iran. A country in middle eats. Unlike they're politicians Iranian are kind, happy and funny. In January, regim kills around 10000 Iranian protests. They shut down Internet and kill their people.
It's a very dark and terrifying era in my whole 5000 years of Iran history. But one thing make me feel better. Brilliant was helping us. They didn't broke our strike chain . Even this little help was alot.
Thank you Brilliant. Thank you Steph(the admin)

A Solid Platform, but with Room to Grow
I think Brilliant is decent, but not outstanding.
I’ve tried it, and it’s especially strong for mathematics.
However, if you want to improve your programming skills (for example in Python), it’s smarter to learn with the help of AI and to experiment using online coding compilers.
This way, you can learn for free and at least ten times faster, which simply makes more sense.
I also believe Brilliant could benefit from offering more dedicated courses in science and engineering, such as civil engineering, energy systems, chemistry, optics & photonics, and mechanics. Some of these topics are touched on in the Scientific Thinking course, but in my opinion, they deserve full courses of their own.
