Great set of courses and high five to customer support

I think Brilliant provides and excellent set of courses on different topics and difficulty levels. For me with a personal interest in math and physics and working professionally with programming, Brilliant has it all.

And for support, I messed up the renewal but it was swiftly resolved so all cred to customer service.

Very quick and effective customer service

Very quick and effective customer service.

I had an issue getting into my account, contacting customer support via email resulted in quick responses and a solution.

The app itself is intuitive and great for cementing foundational concepts. Probably more later on but I'm not that far yet

Opposite of brilliant. Missed auto-sub

I signed up for the free trial and was charged a $180 fee on my credit card after missing the auto-subscription email. I did not elect to annually subscribe.

The singular notification email that was sent regarding the auto-subscription was lost in my spam folder.

When I saw the charge on my credit card I emailed Brilliant and received an automated response (this must happen often). They refused a refund - forcing a one-year membership that I don't want.
It has only been two days since the free trial ended, and I have not used the app in those two days.

I am not optimistic about the customer service from Brilliant, as their replies to reviews on here are either stock or snarky. The company must make money off of people forgetting the trial has expired.

Don't get stuck in their expensive subscription.

Awful company - be careful before signing up

Be very careful- this company will make it appear that you are signing up for a monthly subscription, but will hit you with an annual fee which you won’t realise you have signed up for. They spam your inbox with multiple emails each day so the email notifying you they are about to take payment is hidden among them. It also makes no mention of the sum they will be taking and they refuse all requests for a refund. DO NOT SIGN UP

The company exercises a racket, whereby it automatically takes a premier subscription with no reminder. It is incredibly difficult to request a refund or speak to anyone at brilliant.org. You get sent a blanket email.

DISGRACEFUL - TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

My son recently tried out your Brilliant platform and accidentally signed up for an annual subscription after the 7 day free trial which I cancelled the day before it was due to start on the 1st October. The funds were taken on the 1st and since then, I have been trying to get in touch regarding a refund but have only received automated responses to date, which is extremely frustrating. This lack of human intervention and empathy is not a good brand experience.
This is the last communication form yesterday I received, again 5 emails later and total denial about the situation and the consumer request. I have read the T&C's and they can refund, they just choose not to. DISGRACEFUL given the genuine mistake here.

Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, as outlined in our Terms of Use, all payments are nonrefundable.

That said, I’ve confirmed that your subscription has been cancelled so you won’t be charged again. You'll also still have access to premium benefits through the remainder of your current term- September 30, 2026. If you’d like to turn renewal back on or view your subscription settings, you can do that here.
