Very poor experience overall

Very poor experience overall. From the moment we made the payment in the UK, communication was extremely difficult — it was almost impossible to get timely responses from the people in charge (Mr. Zheng and Mrs. Ryan). There was a serious lack of follow-up and clarity throughout the process. We were given an estimated amount for destination charges, but in the end, we were charged three to five times more than expected. On top of that, the estimated transit time was completely inaccurate — we were told one thing (40 days) and ended up waiting more than twice as long (almost 100). The combination of poor communication, misleading information, and unreliable timelines made this an incredibly frustrating experience. I would not recommend their services.

Regarding the destination and shipping charges, unfortunately these fees are set by the shipping lines and are beyond our control. We understand how frustrating this can be and truly regret any inconvenience caused.

While these delays were due to external factors outside our control, we fully acknowledge that the operational branch should have maintained more regular communication with you throughout the process. That said, we are pleased to hear that your consignment arrived safely and in good condition.

Excellent service from beginning to end.
So professional and polite and took great care of all our belongings. Nothing was too much trouble for them and made the move so smooth. Britannia Reeves were very helpful…

Britannia Reeves were very helpful throughout the protracted move period (our initual seller pulled out and then there were delays and rescheduling with issues with the mortgage company solicitors!!!

Both office staff and the removals team were very professional and the move went ahead without a hitch.

Service Recovery Appreciated After Initial Disappointment

Edited: Following my initial review, the company reached out to me promptly and arranged for debris pickup without delay. I appreciate their swift response and have adjusted my rating accordingly. Nevertheless, I am unable to assign the highest rating, as the overall experience did not meet expectations.

Original: I recently relocated from the US to the UK (into a 3-bedroom house), and used Britannia Movers for the unloading. At first, everything went smoothly—they delivered all my belongings, unpacked and assembled the larger items, and explained that I would need to unpack the remaining boxes myself. They assured me that once I was done, they would return to collect the empty boxes and packaging materials.

Unfortunately, that never happened. After finishing the unpacking, I contacted them several times to arrange the pickup, but was ignored until the US side of the company stepped in. I was then told I had signed a waiver, and they would not be collecting the materials after all.

This was never communicated to me clearly. Either the movers didn’t understand the full process or they intentionally misled me. As a result, I’m now left with a large amount of cardboard and packing material with no way to dispose of it properly.

Overall, a disappointing experience. I would not use Britannia Movers again or recommend them to others.

We were very sorry to read your review and your one star rating for Britannia's service. Clearly this is not representative of the customer experience our company promotes nor reflective of the general feedback via this or other review channels.
On review of your complaint with our imports team we understand that your delivery in the UK took place on the 2nd December 2024. As you say all documents provided by Britannia's delivery crew were signed and these included the unpacking waiver (which states that if signed the debris will not be collected later). We then received a call on the 25th March 2025 asking for your boxes to be collected, at which stage the team advised you that this was no longer an option.
I have been back to the team who have kindly contacted your local Britannia office. You should receive a call from them shortly to arrange collection of your boxes, which we hope you find helpful and a satisfactory response to your complaint.

A fabulous service

A fabulous service. Ben, Chris and Mal (Merseyside branch) were professional, friendly, efficient and fun. The move went as well as these things ever can. They fully packed and moved me in a few hours with no stress or issues. I (hopefully) won’t be moving for a few years, but I’d definitely recommend and use Britannia.

Excellent service from start to finish

The team of 3 turned up promptly at 8am, did a thorough walk round and made a plan. They were polite and helpful. We had 3 hours of waiting the other end for the keys, never complained, just swiftly got on with it when we did get access. Lovely team, quick, tidy and efficient. Totally recommend as also excellent value for money in comparison to their competition.

Thoroughly professional & considerate

Beds and office desk were dismantled and then reassembled in our new property in the correct place. Everything was packed perfectly - nothing at all broke. Entire team from initial contact to last goodbye were very polite, courteous, considerate and professional. Definitely would recommend.

Excellent removal company

Exactly what I needed during a stressful move is a great removal company. They took care of everything from the packing, dismantling my beds, etc, and unloading to the correct rooms. Nothing was too much trouble. This made a stressful situation so much better.
