Excellent quality, efficient service

We bought an Ottoman from British Beds Direct and have been delighted with both the product (British made) and the service from the company, who sent samples of different fabrics and kept us updated about delivery.

Lovely ottoman

Lovely ottoman, very well made and beautiful. It was great to be able to order samples of the material for free too. The ottoman was made quickly and delivery was perfect- especially as the delivered straight to the room we wanted! Thank you!!

Excellent quality bed

Customer service was very helpful when I was ordering the ottoman divan and matching headboard.They mailed throughout the process from dispatch to delivery. Then checked that I was happy with the product after delivery. Very well made product. I have purchased a headboard from them previously and will definitely consider them again in the future.

Perfect Blanket Box

Really easy to order samples online, and to then select my options and place an order. My king size blanket box arrived within 10 days in excellent condition, no faults. It is a very heavy and sturdy box with an easy to open strap and gas lift hinges to keep it safely open. Very happy.

Awful experience


We ordered a king-size ottoman divan bed on May 25, 2024. Their website states they "aim" for premium two-man delivery within 5-10 working days. It has now been 13 working days, and we have not received any updates via email. Despite following up three times, the responses have been vague, mentioning issues with the fabric we ordered and stating that part of the bed is with the courier. We have received false promises about the delivery date and courier updates, yet no one has contacted us. As a result, we will likely be without a bed when we move into our new house. Additionally, we have been informed that the order cannot be canceled as it is in the manufacturing stage, and we would only be entitled to a 50% refund. Think twice before ordering from this company if you value your time.

Addition: The bed arrived three weeks late and had numerous visible holes and stains.... After numerous attempts to contact them, they finally agreed to send me a repair kit (!!) so I could fix the holes and stains myself, along with a partial refund. I received the repair kit and spent time trying to fix it to the best of my ability, but as of July 17, I still haven’t received the partial refund (reimbursement for all my wasted time).

Avoid this company like the plague.

Fantastic company to deal with

Fantastic company to deal with from start to finish
Andy the salesman was one of the most helpful salesman I have ever dealt with,nothing was too much trouble and he phoned me regularly to keep me informed on how everything was going
We ordered a king size ottoman and the quality was excellent and very well made. Would definitely recommend

Lovely blanket box

Although the first blanket box arrived damaged, the company were quick to sort out a replacement. I am really pleased with the quality and finish and particularly like the soft closing mechanism. It is exactly what I was looking for.

Utterly hideous service ordered a…

Utterly hideous service ordered a Ottoman base and headboard five weeks ago.apparently delivered 7/10 working days.had to call every week to be told someone will call me back.no one everdid.I eventually decided to cancel the order.was told I’d have to pay half for cancellation.now bee offered £20 compensation for a £1000 bed terrible terrible terrible

Absolutely bad service

Absolutely bad service. Bad communication. Missed delivery date. And they are totally confused people. They think customer have nothing to do but to reply and communicate with them. Please dnt buy beds from them. There are so many other seller who are why more responsible and honest.

I have bought a number of beds from BBD they always arrive on time. You can actually speak to a human being when you phone, and if you leave a message they will get back to you. great quality and an unbeatable price for it.

Poor communication/customer service

I placed an order for a low divan bed a month ago. I chose this website because of the advertised 5 year warranty and the guaranteed 10 days delivery. After placing the order, I did not receive any email notification regarding dispatch. After a few days, I started following up and I had to call almost every day to get an update on the order. I was told that the bed will be dispatched by a certain date and I had to constantly follow through but nothing happened. I was even given a time slot for delivery of the bed but nobody delivered the bed. I called the delivery company and found out that they did not even receive the bed from the retailer. After that I had to make a number of calls to cancel my order and even that took ages. Overall, it was a frustrating experience. No communication. Poor customer service. I finally got a confirmation for a refund almost a month after placing the order.

Very happy with the bed, BUT

Very happy with the bed, colour and design, just what I wanted, not disappointed.
Three stars because, no instructions whatsover, I needed to phone the company because the brackets supplied to hold the two parts of the bed did not fit, the hydraulic lift for the bottom half of the ottoman storage, was so strong, on removing the ties to hold it down during transit, the top flew open. It does need a very strong push to bring it down, wont stay down unless the mattress is sitting on both top and bottom parts at once.
The floor standing headboard, is quite heavy but only two supporting screws to attach to the bed, really needs another two to keep it firmly attached.
New customers should also be aware, I waited 6 weeks for the bed to be delivered, I contacted the company numerous times asking for a date.
No issue that the bed took six weeks to arrive, but it should be made clear at the ordering stage, it would not be 10 days, but could take much longer.
