This is a review of EE broadband and BT whom EE took over my contract from. For years they had been charging me double their advertised rates with no explanation and then when finally left, for... See more

EE.....DO NOT WANT DEAF CUSTOMERS.
EE.....DO NOT WANT DEAF CUSTOMERS.
I was considering signing up for a broadband account with them so I had a friend phone them for me, she told the person at EE that she was phoning for a friend who was deaf and asked the person to send me an email.
She was told that EE don't communicate by email and that they need to speak to me on the phone, she again told the person that I was deaf and was told if I can't speak to them on the phone I can't open a account.
MY ADVICE IS TO STEER WELL CLEAR OF THIS APPALLING BUSINESS
EE Provider
2nd review after following instructions and help. Followed the instructions to the letter….still doesn’t work. Is it a dodgy piece of equipment or just the company and its equipment that is the issue.
Tried to get help that was a waste of time too.
DO NOT BUY EE services get SKY instead it’s guaranteed to give you what you need.
Guess they won’t give me my money back.
EE SECURITY TOTALLY LACKING. EVEN ACCORDING TO THEIR OWN PROTOCOL.
MINUS ONE STAR.
EE SECURITY TOTALLY LACKING. I am in communication with someone who claims to be from the Executive Office of EE following someone scamming me through their system. However, they will not engage with my complaint until I provde two letters from my mother's maiden name. This is how the scammer convinced me in the first place. However, it dawned on me that this provides no security whatsoever as anyone could just say 'yes' that's correct or find the information on records. The same goes for 'best friend', etc. as in effect they are not identifying themselves at all.
But it gets worse as just did a search and look what came up: MARCH 2024. MUM’S THE WORD: EE TO REMOVE ‘HACKABLE’ MOTHER’S MAIDEN NAME FROM SECURITY QUESTIONS AS DATA SHOWS TWO-THIRDS OF BRITS STILL USE IT FOR SENSITIVE ACCOUNTS
New research from EE shows 64% of Brits still use their mother’s maiden name as a security question for bank, utility, or telco accounts
EE will remove the option from security questions and is encouraging customers to set up stronger protection such as two-factor-authentication
EE expects to block over 10 million attempts to scam its customers this month, having blocked 3.3 million texts, and 4.9 million calls around Mother’s Day last year*
EE is today announcing that it will permanently remove the use of ‘mother’s maiden name’ as a security question for all customers across EE and BT, in a bid to enhance protection against the rising threat posed by scammers. The change follows new research from EE that suggests two-thirds (64%) of the British public still use it as a security backstop for sensitive personal accounts, such as banking, utilities, and other subscriptions.
So the very people I have a problem with are actually permitting it, no, insisting that I use this to identify them and permit them to access my account. The whole thing is crazy as surely they have all this information in order to run my account and take my money! I have refused but they are will do nothing until I have supplied these letters yet again. By now everyone at EE must know my mother's maiden name!!
Added to this EE have repeated just closed my complaint and I have gone round in circles, as have many other customers.
I AM RELUCTANTLY HAVING TO RESORT TO THIS AS I NOW HAVE NO ALTERNATIVE. OTHER CUSTOMERS BEWARE, NOT JUST WITH EE, BUT ANYWHERE WHERE SECURITY IS BY YOU, AND NOT THE PERSON CONTACTING YOU, ASKING FOR LETTERS FROM A WORD/NAME OR A CODE - ANYONE CAN CREATE ONE.
Appalling- Broadband not working they…
Appalling- Broadband not working they keep hiding behind the fact that download speeds to the house are within the range. Technical help keeps contradicting themselves and each time it takes over an hour to speak to someone.
Annoyed because never an issue with BT was pushed to EE and it’s very poor.
Forced to move from excellent BT…
Forced to move from excellent BT service to EE. Non-existent customer service and support. Broadband won’t cover whole house. Had to buy-own extensions as only provided with one but walls are thick in old house. TV box constantly freezes. Very dissatisfied and disappointed. Why couldn’t I have stayed on BT.
Awful internet
Awful internet - I cancelled after a week because it constantly drops despite attempts by them to fix it. total waste of time
Ee is disgusting
Ee is disgusting. The customer advisor was unhelpful! Their customer service is poor. They do not take complaints seriously or resolve them. They over charge on your bills through no fault of your own. Their app does not work to pay your phone bill on time. The early exit fees are a rip off for what you get and since poor connection and signal joining EE was the worst thing I have ever done! Since I joined them nothing but issues and they do not care! Now I am stuck with them until next year and when I am supposed to pay ten pounds a month I am paying more. I would not recommend EE to anyone! Avoid like the plague. Go to any other network like Vodafone, Tesco or O2. You have been warned.
Extremely disappointed with EE Full…
Extremely disappointed with EE Full Fibre – Poor reliability and customer service.
After 5 months on EE's 1Gb Full Fibre plan, I am deeply frustrated. The service has already suffered two major outages. Having previously spent 8 years with Virgin Media—where I only experienced two outages in total, EE’s reliability is shockingly poor.
Furthermore, EE's customer support and communication are practically non-existent:
No Communication: Unlike competitors who provide real-time updates, EE sends no notifications during an outage.
Unacceptable Repair Times: Their policy allows up to 2 working days for repairs. For a 24/7 service, this standard is completely unacceptable.
Misleading Speeds & Extra Fees: While advertised as a 1Gb service, they only guarantee 200Mbps per room. Despite this lower guarantee, I am still forced to pay an additional monthly fee for a WiFi extender to get a stable connection.
EE provides a subpar service that does not live up to its marketing. I highly regret switching.
‘The computer says no’ sums up EE’s…
‘The computer says no’ sums up EE’s broadband installation system. I moved to a new home and signed up to EE broadband ( approx 55MB speed). I received the router etc, and after being talked through the set-up on 4 lengthy calls the line is still not connecting, and they are refusing to send out an engineer, because their computer says the line is working I cancelled and went with Sky for cheaper and full fibre 100 MB at £22 per month.
Joined EE August 2025
Joined EE August 2025 first bill £22.75. May 2026 £55.99. Costs too much to get out of contract. Would not recommend at all.
EE have “upgrade “ me to full fibre broadband. It now doesn’t reach all round the house and cost £4 a month more I got in touch with them requesting a booster but they want an extra £10 a month
EE have “upgrade “ me to full fibre broadband. I was with Plusnet and no problems and was £30.99 per month. It’s now £34.99 and the wi fi doesn’t reach all round th
EE sends text messages when you have issues that will incur costs outside your unlimited minutes and unlimited data plan.
We had issues getting online so I contacted EE through my phone which is also with EE as is my wife's phone. Yet after dialing 150 and going through option 2 option 1 option 3 I got a text message saying reply to the text with Fault which I did and I then got a prompt telling me that to text this number would in incur charges that fall outside our plan. We have unlimited calls and internet on our phones so why would EE set up a service that falls outside this plan. It's beyond me and it's an absolute con. Shame on you EE ripping your customers off like this.
Switched from another provider to EE
Switched from another provider to EE. They promised to pay up to £300 to cover the cost of buying out of my current contract. Was told I didn’t have to do anything they would take care of it. When in actual fact I have to pay my previous supplier and claim it back from EE. Sent my final bill in that came via an email, to be told that it wasn’t proof of the final bill. I am almost £200 out of pocket. Had it been explained properly I would not have switched. Customer services were completely unhelpful.
I was totally misled! Would not recommend this company!
Ee disgusting
If I could id give no stats.
My broadband was w4.99 a month as have a mobile with them then its jumped up to 40.54 then today I get a final bill for same month of payment if an extra 10.54. Wtf im canceling ee broadband absolute disgusting company. I only watch Netflix dont watch movies that have go pay nothing ee are a total conning scammed thieving company STAY AWAY FROK EE
Unfortunately we have had nothing but…
Unfortunately we have had nothing but trouble with our internet. It was beyond slow and we phoned up to get it corrected so they sent out more kit. That didn’t work and they told us that it was our plan and that we needed to upgrade. So we went from paying £29 to £40. The internet was still shocking and to top it off we are now somehow paying £57 and have no idea why. As first time home owners it’s just not okay.
We are getting asked to send kit back, which we don’t exactly know what we are meant to send back and when we ask we don’t get any answers and now we have been told we’re getting charged an extra £80 on top of our bill because of this kit which is awful.
I have now cancelled my broadband with them and I’m getting charged £460 just to do so, I’m so so so appalled and outraged by their service. I would not recommend them to anyone and I will absolutely be telling everyone how awful they are. As a beautician who sees multiple people a day and has a big following I will be their worst nightmare
Not sure if you can give zero stars
Not sure if you can give zero stars, but I would if I could. EE has been absolutely appalling. Having waited two months and listen to loads of lies from them I finally get full fibre fitted. Open Reach passed the job to an outside company who send a complete idiot whose only success was in screwing up everything. He had no knowledge of the EE equipment, The internal fitting is a disgrace and hangs away from the wall. He did not know how to transfer the existing address and password and then the expected disaster.. everything went down. He told me it would take a little time for the hub to accept the full fibre and turn to Aqua. He then disappeared leaving the hub flashing orange. Needless to say nothing was connected and remained that way until I finally got through to EE after 2 hours and 6 attempts! The only saving factor was I finally managed to get through to somebody sensible, commutative and knowledgeable. Stephen was excellent (in the circumstances). He spent approximately five hours over 2 days trying to sort out the mess over the phone. I now know this should have all been dealt with by the installer. Finally I am now up and running, albeit the mini hubs are really struggling. (so yet more calls to EE). I cannot wait for somebody from EE to contact me to discuss how we move forward. Perhaps they will arrange to send an experienced engineer this time to ensure all is set all up correctly!! (I live in hope:)
EE has to be one of the most deplorable companies I have ever dealt with and whilst their speciality is communication .. it has to be an absolute joke. 🥲
I am very disappointed with the process…
I am very disappointed with the process of Internet with EE via broadband I have to wait at least 24hrs before I can use all of my devices properly to get access to their network?????????it has managed to connect, phones and tablet I will see how it goes but big fail so far it connected once to my laptop and then stopped I will wait tomorrow but not impressed I have a assignment on line next week I hope it works.. absolutely rubbish... crappy
An utter shambles of a company- DIRE. AVOID.
the broadband speeds and prices are some of the most expensive on the market and offer zero value for money.
Their website if from 90's with zero investment in new tech or IT and rely on people not needing to log into their account (just direct debit) no investment and no support. utterly useless.
they even had the cheek to gaslight me on the phone for an hour when I tried to make a complaint. telling me I was wrong about an incorrect bill payment and I shouldn't be experiencing the issues I was. Completely denying my issues.
the experience overall has been awful I regret ever signing up for the contract (but they offered more mobile data as I was a mobile customer). regret. Nothing but regret since the first day I went out of contract with them. Since contract end I am now paying £18 a month more, for the same service. And a 1990's website that doesnt even work. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
EE - A broadband joke.
My wife was charged for a phone number she never used and when she contacted the help centre was told she would receive a refund. They lied.
Five phone calls later and being deliberately passed around like a football nothing is being resolved.
At home the Hub is inaccessible via admin IP address, the password doesn't work to connect anything.
The tech backup is non existent.
EE are a joke when it comes to broadband. They make BT look professional which is some feat.
It's a miracle of incompetence and nasty, deliberate, snotty "help" from people soon to be replaced by AI. About time.
