We would highly recommend Broadleaf…

We would highly recommend Broadleaf Timber and especially Andrew Barratt at the Llandeilo office. He is extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and kept us informed of every step of the ordering process.

Over the past 3 years, we have purchased 4 cottage oak plank doors and recently a brushed and burned classico Strata oak flooring for our Victorian cottage living room. I have to say that we are more than happy with the quality and look of the doors and flooring and are so happy with everything. We cannot fault the service we received and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Broadleaf Timber to friends and family. Many thanks for all of your help and for a wonderful service.

Thank you Broadleaf.

Just had nine solid oak doors delivered to the house by a giant of a man called Sunny who was incredibly polite, knowledgable and massively strong - carrying each heavy door heavy on his shoulder.

The quality of the doors and accessories are beyond expectations. Excellent. Strongly recommended.

This company have delivered and exceeded their promise - a rarity in this day and age.

Fantastic job- Quickly completed

After a friendly chat with Andrew Barratt in their Llandeilo showroom we ordered a parquet floor for our restaurant less than a month ago. Yesterday the installation was completed and the floor finished to a great standard. Great service and a really excellent job from this excellent local company which deserves its nationwide reputation.

Finally we have a fabulous floor!

Having never be able to afford it before, finally we were able to hire Broadleaf to install their aged oak engineered board in our kitchen and laundry room. Best decision ever!
Tiptop service from beginning to end, everyone in the bath office was very helpful. James the fitter was absolutely wonderful and worked hard to minimise disruption for us. We couldn’t be more pleased, keep looking at it and loving it!

Llandeilo Broadleaf Experience

We had decided to replace our laminated floor with solid oak and whilst there were online options we wanted a local, personal choice. We met Andrew at the Llandeilo showroom and found him to be friendly, helpful, patient and knowledgeable. No pressure to purchase and a totally relaxed experience. We have now got a beautiful 150mm oak floor in our hall. I would thoroughly recommend Broadleaf Llandelio to anybody.

Amazing flooring, would thoroughly recommend

I had oak parquet flooring purchased through their Llandeilo showroom in March just before lockdown and it is the best decision I ever made. I have two large dogs and have tried all sorts of flooring and Broadleaf were recommended to me and they could not have been more helpful or professional. The flooring looks amazing and looks like it’s always been here with the finish round difficult areas faultless.I was advised on how to care for the floor and have had no problems whatsoever. My only criticism would be that I had to wait several months for the fitter to become available but that was made plain to me from the start and he was so good it was worth the wait.

Avoid!

Within 2 months of having solid oak flooring fitted in 3 ground floor rooms the boards have split and cupped (warped) to such an extent that they are a trip hazard. At my request eventually they sent a technician to examine my flooring. The technician described the flooring as having failed and with off the scale cupping. Since then the company has been extremely unhelpful and actually obstructive.

AVOID!!!

AVOID!!!! We bought engineered wooden flooring from Broadleaf in 2017 which we were advised was suitable for use with underfloor heating. 18 months later nearly every board has a crack in it. Broadleaf's response was that we should use their cleaning products?! (we do but how does that stop cracking) and maybe the underfloor heating is too hot (It's not and we weren't told that there was a heat limit anyway!). It looks terrible and needs replacing less than 2 years after it was installed. AVOID!!!!!!

Products Great - Customer service - Not So Much (worst ever experienced)

Received our order of 8 internal doors a week later than promised and discovered that the Llandeilo showroom hadn't ordered items required for fitting ie: hinges, bathroom locks etc. We immediately sent an email to the company listing exactly the items we needed which went unanswered. Was eventually told by the salesman and their head office that they do not supply these, even though they are clearly shown on their website - meanwhile the fitter was unable to proceed. Tried to sort this out with their head office, but when my husband spoke quite reasonably to one of the owners he was told "Don't call me Vanessa - I'm not your friend" !!! He was accused of threatening her staff on the phone but when he informed her that he records all his calls for personal reasons that allegation was nipped in the bud!! Nice way to treat your customers when they have already been afforded an incompetent service. Our fitter eventually had to drive over 50 miles to get the crucial items from a builders shop. Doors are now fitted and look beautiful, but the whole experience reduces the rating to one star.

Run a mile...

I have had the most upsetting and unprofessional 2 year journey with this company. To explain every frustrating phone call and failing made in the 2 years of this j ightmate of a journey would mean writing a small book. Very long story short, my husband and I ordered 21 doors from Broadleaf. Said doors arrived many months later with a terrible finish. I was assured this would be rectified. Doors went back, arrived months later with very little to no change. 4 of the largest doors were not fit to hang in my home. Their solution to this situation? Take them as they are, or have a refund for all 4... bearing in mind that all the doors for my home were intended to be uniform. I asked for a refund.. it was agreed that I would have a complete refund, and what a lovely surprise to then be charged £300.00 for a "Stocking Fee, collection charge and extra stain" Absolute rubbish... run...a....mile....

I don't have any issue with the …

I don't have any issue with the products, as they have always been of good quality. However, after placing an order on-line for some cleaning items these took nearly 2 weeks to arrive. I did chase after a few days, as I had paid for 48hr delivery, and was informed I would be called back, no one did. I chased again only to be advised the items were out of stock but due shortly. I queried about paying for 48hr delivery and was promised a refund, but after waiting nearly 4 weeks, and contacting customers services 3 times, I am still waiting for a refund.......

Sadly I have decided I hate to report …

Sadly I have decided I had to report my bad experiance with Broadleaf.

In 2014 I had two doors, door frames, floor, skirting and architrave all from Broadleaf and fitted with their recommended fitter. All went very well and I was totally satisfied with the products and the service.
I needed some more architrave so I naturally went back to Broadleaf. The architrave was delivered to my house and to my disappointment all pieces had ginormous knots. Obviously knots are natural and many add feature to the look. These knots where all massive, dead and after checking there was absolutely no way that it could have been fitted without having holes big enough to stick your fingers in. More to the point, the products that I previously received were great from broadleaf. I took photos of the poor quality architrave, rejected the delivery and contacted Broadleaf, hoping to resolve the issue. I was told that if I wanted product as before I would have to pay an extra £48 for the warehouse staff to select the good ones and that they recommend I come into the shop to inspect and collect. I was a little insulted by this, and requested that I be sent satisfactory products else sadly my great opinion of Broadleaf will be damaged. Broadleaf refunded me the cost of the architrave but kept the delivery. I loose £40

Still in need of Architrave I contacted a lesser known smaller company. I explained my experience. Within in a couple of days some absolutely perfect architrave arrived at my house which was about 25% cheaper than Broadleaf.
Very sad to write this, and sad that I unfortunately would not recommend Broadleaf after my experience.

Under Floor Heating compatibility problem

Re Broadleaf flooring:
Don’t get me wrong, we had a good service from Broadleaf and its recommended (independent) fitter, and the floor looks good. In writing this review with a poor rating, I am wanting only to alert people to the need to consider very carefully whether it is - as claimed – really suitable to sit on top of under floor heating. Discovering that the heating in my new extension doesn’t seem to cope with extreme cold, I looked for the reason. Everything seems to be fitted and working properly, and yet: it’s not warm. On investigation, I learn that flooring has a tog-rating (or equivalent) which gives a number for “thermal resistance”. This is the amount of insulation keeping your heat down (i.e. preventing it from coming up). The Broadleaf boards are thick at 20mm and ours are wide at 20cm. The fitter recommended (and expressly told me that there was compatibility with UFH) an 18mm ply sub-floor. If I understand correctly, this gives a tog-rating of 1.7 +1.4 = 3.1. Which, it turns out, is higher than the 2.5 recommended by the manufacturer of the heating which I have (and which I imagine is typical). I am not a technical person and so will simply say: don’t make this mistake (it’s gutting to have a relatively expensive fit-out that you can’t really enjoy in winter!) unless someone on your design and fitting team will give you a cast-iron “fitness for purpose” warranty. I will also say that the help or comment we got from Broadleaf and the fitter upon enquiring about this did not amount to much, or in fact anything. They weren’t evasive or obstructive: they just didn’t know. I would have thought that businesses that supply and fit flooring on top of UFH would know this stuff inside out and have been able to explain to me why the recommended fitting method should work and not cause problems. But, answer came there none!

Problem products and the worst customer service I can remember

We had problems with some of our order when we came to fit the items. The showroom in Cheltenham was completely unhelpful and basically told us to go away (without checking out the problems). We contacted the head office who asked us to send back the faulty items plus other items which were OK. Once they had our goods, we had an abrasive email which blamed everyone except Broadleaf for all kinds of things but conveniently skirted around the main problem. It went on to demand £240 to return our goods, including the items which were not faulty and which they had asked us to return. DON'T FALL INTO THIS TRAP. I had to fight to get our property back and there was no interest or goodwill in resolving the problems. MY ADVICE = AVOID.
