It's all one big scam

It's not a surprise when you look at all the other comments but I was also scammed out of £60 from a membership subscription that I didn't knowingly sign up to.

Its obvious from their customer service responses that this is their main aim and probably the way they make a lot of money. I originally bought a £3.49 book and had £15 taken out of my account for 4 months before I realised. I contacted customer service but have been met with a brick wall of copy and pasted replies that they obviously use a lot.

I've also had my membership stopped abruptly despite having paid for the rest of the month already.

I've reported this company in pretty much everyway I can but I doubt anything will come of it.

My order number was: 1315356, watch me get the same unhelpful reply as everyone else.

They might have made their membership subscription available somewhere but it is hidden well in the small print and is definably not obvious when you purchase a book. It is also clear that they have no intention on making this more clear for future buyers as this is all part of their scam. If they made it clear - people wouldn't join.

Totals scumbags

Totals scumbags. Everytime you see one of their ads on Google please click on it so you can charge them, then head directly back to Google's page and report them by clicking the three dots. Hopefully, after the many reports google will eventually take them down. You are an absolute shame buuks

Yet another screw up

After cancelling my membership two weeks ago, I was assured that I would have the remainder of my payment period left (which ends on the 10th of March). However, having looked at my account, the membership has been cancelled meaning I cannot access the membership despite being told I could, so these scammers have robbed me of my money and gone against the own assurances! Ridiculous.

I have emailed customer service, but I am adamant that I will receive the same treatment I did last time. Christoffer, prioritise customer service and ensuring your employees do their job right (as well as a fully functioning website that actually works) instead of constantly defending the business.

Refund me for this, or let me have what I have payed for. Absolutely disgraceful.

UPDATE: your website isn’t working, and I’ve already sent you screenshots. I’m not sure how you can say you haven’t been able to trace the issue, despite confirming you know exactly of the contact we’ve been in.

We can see that your order was shipped shortly after your order was completed, but throough tracking your parcel, Royal Mail were unable to deliver your order as the parcel was incorretly addressed. No house number had been included on your order and therefor they have had to send your book in back to us.

Shocking Service and Money Grabbers

Ordered a book for someone as a Christmas present on the 14th December. After not receiving anything for a week I emailed to ask what was happening with my order as it was a gift for Christmas. I was then refunded the money back on the 22nd December with no communication so I assumed they didn’t have it in stock and they gave me my money back.

Today, 2 months later, I was charged again for the book without notice and was told I needed to tell them to cancel the order. In addition to this I was told that I have to phone Royal Mail to refuse delivery or pay for the return delivery myself. I’m shocked that no one used any common sense to see from my email and lack of communication afterwards that I didn’t want the product anymore. Instead they swiped my money from me and now I have to pay for something I don’t want.

Absolutely shocking service.

I am sorry to hear to hear that you have completely misunderstood the situation and the information we had provided to you, but as we communicted out to you shortly after your order had been placed, your book was sold out at the time so we awaited a response if you would like to wait for it or have the order cancelled.

We never cancel an order (and in relation to that, remove the reservation) without contact our customer first. When you place an order you have a reservation created on your account until the order has been completed. It was never communicted out to us if you would like to have your order cancelled and thereby have the reserved amount released on your account.

It's not until recently we have heard back from you after you order had been sent that you informed us that you did not want the title.

Since your order has been sent we will not be able to cancel your order, so as we have informed you are welcome to use your right of withdrawal and have your money refunded if you are still not intersted in keeping your order.

If you have other questions please don't hesitate contacting us again.

I'm not part of the membership thing or…

I'm not part of the membership thing or anything and it keeps taking money straight from my account I've emailed them and they said they would stop the transactions but it's still happening they have taken 30 quid from my account this month when they said they will stop months ago.

This is a scam

This is a scam. They sign you in for a membership. A £10 book ended up costing me £40. I'm going to spend the next year warning anyone who will listen to steer clear of you.

Can't reply, so editing. I think you need to review your figures to see how many people sign up without realising. After going back through the fineprint on the email it says you'll charge the membership on 13.01.2023, but you've charged me the month before as well. My order number is 1325761 if you want to check.

Great value book

Great value book. Only criticism is i signed into a book club, which i didn't realise until i received the confirmation email, which is chargeable per month.

A book arrived which was not ordered never signed up for anything and I don't want it. How did these scammers get my details, why are they sending out books that are not ordered and why do they expect me to run this back by courier to them? Come and pick it up and don't send me books I've not ordered. Order ID 104074

hidden fee and scammers

My wife bought a book from Buuks.co.uk on 27.05.2022 for £3.09 and they automatically rolled her into their membership which she was not aware of. Charged her monthly £15 for 8 months until I discovered this. The book my wife bought from them now cost £123.09!

When my wife realized what is going on , she asked Buuks for refund, but they didn't wanted to refund, they said "In order for us to refund the membership your order should have been returned within 14 days from the purchase date, as your members purchase is linked to the 14-day statutory right of withdrawal, which starts by the time you have created your purchase"

We will not buy anything from those scammers.
And certainly you will be better off by paying few pounds extra for the book you need elsewhere.

I am very sorry to hear that you and your wife feel cheated into our membership, but as it is stated all the way through our website we are a members club. This means your wife had to choose between one of the two prices offered; either our members price or our normal price.

As we state all the way through our website, we are a members club, and by choosing our members price it is required for you to sign up for our membership. This information is handed to you from the start to the very end. When you come to our website you are welcomed with a pop-up window telling you all this, as well on the front page on a banner, each of our products, on the product page, in your basket, when finishing the purchase. Before you even can complete the purchase you have at the very end the requirement to accept the membership conditions in order to finish your purchase. Hereafter you receive a confirmation of both your order and membership.

Although our normal price is a fine price our members price gets you the exclusive access to our cost prices and gives you free shipping with every order you may place, which blows other companies prices out of the way as you get the unique opportunity to make great savings.

The choice is all yours.

You do of course need to take into consideration of what information is handed before making a purchase.

I never signed up for this service

I never signed up for this service, they've been taking money from my account I've noticed for a few months the now! Can't find contact details to get refund... absolutely disgraceful that a company can sign you up with no knowledge. With 5 autoimmune diseases, I can't focus on a TV show let alone books!!! How do I get a refund?
