FRAUD AN THEFT

I have also been a victim of this fraudulent organisation and have been tricked in to joining a subscription scheme costing £15per month.

My name is Simon Sullivan so could you please cancel this subscription which I did not knowingly sign up for.

FRAUD AND THEFT

FRAUD AND THEFT. my mother used my card to buy a book for my toddler. she didn't realise she was signing up to a very expensive monthly GBP15 book deal. This most certainly offends the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and OFT standards - completely misleading language. Absolutely outrageous.

Ignore the negative reviews

Ignore the poor reviews here, I assume these are from those who aren’t so computer literate.
I received my order within two days of ordering at an amazing price and in perfect condition.
As long as you opt out of the member's price you won’t receive this supposed “scam” charge everyone here has been raving about. I will definitely be using them again in the future, and might even have to intentionally subscribe for the great value of being a member.

Ordered a book back in Oct 22 and was…

Ordered a book back in Oct 22 and was auto signed into their membership. The website is really clear now about the pricing etc.. but back then it was. And I am £90 out of pocket. Asked for a refund and refused. Be careful people.

Sent it to my billing address eveninfnthough I emailed and phoned to make sure they weren’t going to after a website glitch…. I complained after but they just shrugged it off

Awful company

Awful company. Made purchase on my mobile phone. No mention of membership charges. Went on to be stung for £285 'membership charges' for an £11 gift. If this was access / membership for cheap books why no emails / updates on offers? Proper scam. There are articles all over the internet about this and an article in the Guardian. Vile company with no interest in resolving the matter stating it puts the T & Cs on the receipt. That's the justification for taking £285 of my money. Avoid like the plague.
##### The reply is totally fake too (inline with multitude of replies to complaints of same practise). You have already refused to refund me stating i should have read the smallprint on my receipt. Your response on here is merely to appear interested. You have stated to me personally you are not. The facade only demonstrates how conniving your company is.
Bottom line is read the room: All your replies state how you operate. Lots of people state you to be dishonest and corrupt in how you operate. You can rewrite your insipid message (and hire bots to hype you) repeatedly but if you continue the same practise it becomes transparent and meaningless. I realise that you aren't willing to refund me the £285 you took from my account which is why i intend to take this further elsewhere.

Scam

I am furious to see that £15 has been taken off my credit card account the past few months. I had stupidly not noticed before thinking oh it's a book I must have ordered. But have now realised I am paying for a membership that I did not know I signed up for. I can only think I ordered a book from this company on my mobile phone and that now they are collecting money that I can ill afford..
I would like an apology and full refund but I doubt if I will get either after reading some of their reviews.
Never encountered this before from any other company site.

This company is a fraud

This company is a fraud. It deceptively charges for membership, when one orders a book. I just ordered a book a year ago which came OK. Now fully 12 months later I have found a charge to my credit card for £15 from Buuks. I phoned them and they say I ordered it, which I never did, and refuse to refund the money. They say they have now cancelled the membership. BEWARE!

COMPlETELY DISHONEST COMPANY

My order was never delivered and it was a child’s Christmas present. Also they kept taking membership fees after I cancelled although they finally refunded this. Re the books I was practically called a liar them stating they were delivered and they definitely were not. This is called distance buying and they have a duty to provide evidence of delivery which they will not provide. I have asked them several times for their CEO contact details which they have refused to provide. They are a total untrustworthy disgrace. Shame on you Buuks for ripping people off!

They’ve been taking £15 a month from me without me realizing they signed me up for subscription after I bought one book, this has been going on for months. No refund, not even one month refund as a gesture of good will. I will not recommend or buy from this company again

Jail them plain and simple. I can't believe this company is still allowed to scam people. 73% of 1 star reviews on Trustpilot. Other reviews clearly submitted by Buuks employees. Or people just haven't realised they have signed up to scam yet! Once the £15 charge comes out there bank account they will soon give 1 star.
