Stay away from this app. It looks really nice, and I was so drawn in by its friendly simplicity. Alas, when trying to save a draft of a digital product, the draft disappeared. I tried multiple versions, looked in every panel I could find, tried every filter. I read all FAQs. Nothing. I finally asked for help, and was told to expect help within a few hours.
More than 12 hours later, Tina replied, asking if it was a Shop or Post draft. This was frustrating, since I’d already waited well beyond the “couple hours,” and since my original query specifically stated it was a product. But I repeated this information. I haven’t heard anything since. She’s been “idle” for 10 hours. It’s a weekday. It’s now 24 hours since I’ve asked for help on what should be basic functionality. I’m fairly sure my draft is lost (and losing several hours of work). I’d be happy to believe that it exists somewhere and I’m just a tech dummy (though my background is UI/UX, so … I feel like it shouldn’t be this hard?) and I just can’t find it.
I could probably make peace with this, even as a bug, but the lack of prompt customer service (or at least straight up lying on resolution timeline) is an absolute deal-breaker.
Again, all I asked is, “Where do I find saved product drafts?”

In the mean time, I hopped over to GumRoad, and have a shop up and ready to go, plus very friendly support in far less time than I’ve been waiting for Tina from Buy Me a Coffee to respond to my basic query of “where do you keep product drafts.”
If Buy me a Coffee improved their customer service, or at least were more honest about how long it will take to get a response, I probably would have stayed. I love their branding, vibe and simplicity.
If anyone from Buy Me a Coffee reads this and wonders why they lost an enthusiastic potential fan:
It was: almost entirely, it was Tina from customer service—where is she?! Maybe something came up, we’re all human, but then your autoresponder shouldn’t promise a “few hours,” when the reality is days.
And also, seriously: Where DO we find saved drafts of products?! The “save draft” button is prominent. Where these drafts go is a total mystery.
And I’m a tech nerd, web designer, and trained in these things!
I closed my account. No service is perfect, but most aren’t so flagrantly dismissive or dishonest re: the customer service experience.

The Worst support ever.
They are not answering for any questions.
I had the case of changing billing address on the invoice (currrent accounting month). They answered after few days that they do not have any possibility to change it.
I tried to withdrawal an invoice, of course it was not possible.
I contacted Link, a wallet partnership company, because older invoices were entered into their system, and they can easily modify them as well.
But unfortunately BuyMyACoffee didn't send newer invoices into Link system so it means that I was blocked.
I even wrote a post on LinkedIn, but nobody from the company has contacted me.
It’s just another ghost company, not worth investing your money or time.
I do not recommend!!!

If I could vote 0 stars, I would. I had a really bad experience using Buy Me A Coffee. My account was not blocked from receiving tips, but when it came to withdrawing, suddenly my page got deactivated and to this day I don't understand why I couldn't activate my account with all the proof I have offered and the many emails sent to the customer support address. I had Tina as my CS, she is one of the worst customer support agent I've ever came across. She gave me replies after 4-7 days, she has not helped me with anything rather than replying with pre made replies. Such lazyness and lack of interest I've never seen before.

They say they only suspend accounts after a thorough review, which is not true. It seems certain words will flag an account and get it suspended. It also seems they have a habit of suspending accounts that most of you belong to women, black women, and trans women. Their practices are discriminatory and hostile.
They are refusing to pay out my funds in my account due to a suspension. I cannot get a hold of any staff it is the most useless and hostile platform.
Do not use buy me a coffee under any circumstances, because you will not get your money.
I have even had to remind by me a coffee the under UK trading and employment laws you cannot withhold earnings, that it is illegal to do so even if you are an international company.
Therefore, this company is operating illegally and questionably.
Look at how low their ratings are, trust the warnings.

***UPDATE*** to add to their response: I was told i violated ToS but never made clear how? They do infact withhold your funds for any reason and do not provide a reason. I have been told that my patrons will have their money refunded and i will not get my earnings which is against UK law, so they are breaking the law. They've asked for my details but I still don't have a response or my money, I have now LOST EARNINGS and my patrons have lost trust in me because what the hell, I can't carry out the art/photography requests because I haven't received the money and they've not had their money refunded yet.
Just look at ALL of the negative reviews saying the same thing, buy me a coffee is a scam. And my advice if you do use their service-do not list yourself as a WOMAN, BLACK, or TRANS. Better yet make sure you set your profile up as a white man and your profile pic also needs to be of a white man otherwise you'll never see your money.

I like the simplicity of the website. I didn't need to search many tutorials to launch my page. I also don't need too much functionalities. Buy Me a Coffee has the functionalities that I need.
As for the support, when I send a question, the support team quickly replies me. They are really helpful.

This organization is extremely abusive and discriminatory. I followed every single guideline for my account creation, and somehow when it was time to withdraw the money my supporters sent me, they suspended my account and blocked the withdrawal, which left me in a very precarious situation.
Their reviewing process lacks transparency, and to this day I don’t understand why my account has been suspended.
You should NOT use Buy me a coffee to get tipped if you are a stage artist.

On Sept 3rd 2025 I woke up to a strange problem where all my paying members had lost access to their members only videos (4 months worth of member sonly videos that were embedded each week in member only posts). I knew nothing had changed on my side so guessed there was a problem on the Buy Me A Coffee Side that had caused this to happen all of a sudden. I reached out to the support email at Buy Me A Coffee for help not knowing what to expect & to be honest, worried that I might not get a response or that it might take a long time. All the time knowing my paying Buy Me A Coffee members had lost access to their paid content. I was incredibly surprised by the fast response I received from Julie in the support team. She helped coordinate with their internal technical team. They managed to fix the issue within approx 4 hours after they were informed & I was back up and running again with all my members regaining their access to their paid for embedded video content within a 24 hour timeframe on September 4th 2025. Julie did an exceptional job in that she was an excellent communicator. She understood my initial issue without going back and forth with delays asking more questions. She worked well with her internal technical teams as she obviously knew who to share my issue with. The technical team were well trained & skilled in that it did not take them long to identify & resolve the issue. Thank you Julie & all the internal technical teams in Buy Me A Coffee. I'm so glad you work well together as a team & are highly trained & so customer focused. Thank you all from me personally and on behalf of all my paying Buy Me A Coffee members.
