Shocking BYD Blunder: Customer Left in the Lurch as Youthful Sales Rep Dismisses Test Drive Dreams!

⭐☆☆

Oh, what a peculiar experience I had at BYD Birmingham! Picture this: I booked a test drive for 4 o'clock, full of eager anticipation, ready to embrace the electric revolution. But alas, the universe had other plans for me! I found myself languishing in the showroom like a forgotten sock in the laundry, waiting and waiting, yet not a soul in sight.

Eventually, a young lad ambled over—let’s say, enthused with the energy of a wet towel. His disinterested demeanor screamed louder than the fancy cars! I felt rather like an uninvited guest at a soirée—ignored and evidently not deemed worthy of a test drive. Perhaps he thought I couldn’t afford it, which is amusing considering how I’m now eyeing a Tesla for my sustainable escapade!

So there I was, a modern-day automotive adventurer, thwarted and disillusioned. I had to leave, my dreams of electric freedom dashed, without so much as a rev of the engine to soothe my wounded optimism. If BYD Birmingham thinks they can play with the big boys in the electric vehicle market, they might want to adjust their game plan.

Consequently, I shall venture to Tesla tomorrow—with all the excitement and charm that seemed to be lacking at BYD. Here’s hoping for a spark of passion, as I deserve it and so does every fellow car enthusiast out there!

In summary, my experience was as energizing as a flat battery—let’s hope BYD can charge up their customer service for future patrons!

Horrible experience with BYD UK Sales Team

Horrible experience with BYD sales team at Manchester, UK. They treat people like a dirt, even for a viewing and test driving a car so much reluctance in a Corporate event. I was seriously thinking about buying a Seal as my electric car and now going for a Tesla Y, these folks especially Sales team is not well organised, arrogant and not interested in their work. Pathetic experience even in an organised event and wasted an hour for a test drive, finally they didn't even ready to offer a car for test drive even after handing over physical UK license . If Chinese bosses are seeing these comments, please correct the fundamentals in Sales, atleast recruit who's interested to sell something to customers rather than the ones who's just interested in high pay check and afternoon sleep. I got a really bad experience from UK Country sales head itself ,person claimed it, and I don't know whether she's really a sales head! I can just say good luck to BYD as a proud Lexus customer 😉.

Good car but awful experience using it in the UK

Good car, but their customer service is absolutely shocking and it's clear it's because they;re new to europe. To give an idea: all I'm trying to do is get some features on the app launched (location tracking).

BYD customer services sends me to a dealer, dealer tells me to go to customer service. Customer service won't issue my complaint, nor respond back to me - so yeah I'm paying for a car that I can't track all because BYD won't get back to me.

I WOULDN'T EVEN GIVE BYD ONE STAR

Great sales team BYD Glasgow October 2023. Fab looking car, lovely and smooth to drive ..... if and when it works!! Service team, I struggle to give them 1 star.

So many problems with the car. Main one being that it was a death trap. The windscreen would completely fog up within seconds - it even happened on the motorway without any warning. It would only happen intermittently. Took it back, service team couldnt diagnose a problem when it was on their ramp.

There were other issues too. We were told to take photos and video evidence of all problems. We did. Back on the ramp. Exactly the same response - computer says there is nothing wrong - **come and get it we're not going to look at your car again. It really wasnt safe to drive, There were many other issues too, the latest one was intermittent emergency braking without warning - foot nowhere near the brake. After this we were frightened to use it.

Motability didnt help either. We had to order a different car. we had to pay for an early return of the vehicle and told that we could go and buy a cheap runaround until the new car we ordered arrived. They said they would suspend any payments until the new car arrived! (Ive been with Motability for years and this is the only time they have let me down. As for BYD - if anyone out there is going to buy one check on google to see just how many people have similar faults. And to the person who buys our car CKK ***** good luck - you'll need it.

Beware BYD manufacturer defective issues

Car bought brand new in BYD MSL CORK IRELAND on last June 2023. The day after delivery car I my self spot a rear corner of panoramic sunroof was defective with a pop up issue on one corner. Took the photo and report it to the sales manager same day. So far repairs have carry out twice. One brand new panoramic sunroof was a replacement. But the defective issues is same problem wasn't resolved. On last October 2023 on phone to BYD MSL CORK IRELAND sales manager I asked would BYD replace with a new car instead of another new panoramic sunroof . but been turned down by BYD MSL CORK IRELAND sales manager.

3 stars out of 3 the other 2 stars are in limbo

3 stars out of 3 , mines a good car, atto 3 .
Out of the 3 models their exporting to uk they have sold a couple of thousand cars here ( 2 of the models weren't available here till last 5 or 6 months ) in last 15 months .Theres only 9 million people in London lol so 0 STARS FROM THEIR LONDON AND GREATER LONDON SET UP , 4 shop fronts with no service or repair back up to do any warrantee work. I have checked it out and i would have to travel far , lose a days money , waste a day and use half a full charge. At present the closest is milton keynes . I phoned the european central CS they told me to register my car with a local byd dealer , they had a phone number . I passed on the message from CS about registering , they said you cant register till you receive the log book ? Thought log book is purely address and keeper , not the owner( as it were ) anyways I also contacted by email a london byd branch last week while not knowing what i now know purely asking are you sales only or do you do service and repair , no one yet 5 days on has got back to me.
Any how i called Milton keynes byd service department today , no answer ,so recalled sales there instead . Sales person answered and said phone back tomorrow , a thursday ( i am too too busy on thursdays). You see a cousin of mine in Oz has same car and the dealer did a 2000-mile free check . Wondered if dealers here do the same.
Next i phoned same company but the Stratstone birmingham branch. Spoke to sales fellow named Kevin , asked Kevin about a free 2000 mile service check, he said uk dealerships dont perform that kind of check. He beleives due to Oz having extreme heat they like to check that everythings functioning, FAIR COMMENT . He also went through a few items related to the Atto 3 and i found this most helpful and thank him for that (5 * youngman ).
So far i am not giving any stars too BYD as no ruddy service ,warrantee repair points in London ??

Quality of the BYD TAN, the new generation

I purchased BYD TANG EV 2024 735km Edition (VIN: LC0CE4CD2P0556847) in November 2023 from a dealer company, namely Shandong Xinhui New Energy Vehicle Industry Co., Ltd.
Despite of problems I faced during the purchasing process I faced the following challenge: after 6505 km of driving, I faced a problem related to the car’s functionality. While driving to my workplace the car twitched two times and stopped, showing an error on the screen “Power failure, please pool over and call service center”
When a diagnostics Master came over and checked the system with his DATA device he found that the problem was associated with the lower invertor. The car is not drivable now. Unfortunately, the company that sold me the car, told me that my car must be fixed at my own expense as there is no warranty on the car's devices other than the battery.
This case completely changed my expectations of cars made in China. Moreover, it may undermine common opinion about the good quality of the BYD cars, specifically the modern TANG generation.
Sorry for being honest.

BYD Seal is beautiful and a pleasure to drive.

We had seen the Seal at the Nevo show at the RDS, where we test-drove another eV but they didn't have a BYD Seal to test. On a subsequent visit to Cork we asked the BYD Dealer there to bring a Seal to our hotel for us to test, which they did! Great service.

We loved the car and promptly ordered one. It took a couple of months to get the colour and model we wanted, but they delivered it to our home in Mayo. They took care of all the SEAI paperwork. There are very few extras to choose so the price ends up lower than some other models similarly equipped.

We love the car. The seats are comfortable and easily adjustable for perfect positioning. The range on the charge is very good. The pickup is like a rocket ship and the handling and stability on the road are remarkable. It feels solid and well-built. The main controls are good so you don't have to search for them on a screen. And you can ask her to adjust controls for you by saying, "Hi BYD, turn down the volume."

We are delighted with our decision. Thanks, BYD!
