BYD South West - Taunton Reviews 

I came in today with the intention of buying a Byd Seal and the sales guy at the dealership was not helpful at all. He first assumed that I wouldn’t be able to afford the insurance and kept mentioning this throughout my visit. He then after multiple times of mentioning about my insurance asked my age. I am 21. He made a comment about how my NCD must be good as I get cheap insurance. After much discussion about whether I could actually insure the car that I hadn’t even seen any such deal on yet I asked about a test drive to make sure I liked the car and to no surprise he denied my request multiple times. I then left as be was not prepared to do any deal and I said to him I would go elsewhere and to which he replied “ok”.

Shame on him losing the sale for a bigger company such as byd where I would have done a deal today.

I cannot recommend BYD Taunton enough. They were super helpful, friendly and not pushy like your typical salesman/woman. They took time to explain the car on collection. Called a few days later asking if they can help with anything and made us super welcome in the office. Thankyou BYD Taunton for such a smooth/ hassle free sale. Highly recommended. We love the car.

Problem with my BYD Seal, not a great start, but the team at BYD Taunton were very understanding, made sure that I had appropriate replacement cars, so not left without transport. Updated with information at regular intervals, so 1* star for the car misbehaving, but they handled the situation in a friendly, so 5* stars for the staff and service

BYD Taunton could not have been more professional friendly or helpful. We purchased an Attoo 2 which we thought a great car at unbeatable value. Salesman Kelvin Barbosa was very personable and helpful and available throughout the sales process. His assistant Toby Little kept us informed on delivery dates and conducted an excellent handover of the new car with follow up phone calls to make sure we were happy with everything and answer our queries on vehicles controls/menus

The service was excellent and Toby went over and above and pick me up from the station and also went the extra mile I will recommend the company and the product

Toby looked after us from the 1st meeting and test drive of the Seal U comfort model, we had a lovely afternoon, which is why I returned from Barry in Wales to purchase a new vehicle at the beginning of September 2025.
Toby has been in touch a number of times since to see how we are getting on with the car.
I will definitely consider returning to BYD Taunton to purchase another vehicle in the future.
The one thing that can be improved,
The BYD dealership in Taunton is in its infancy, with a small office and car park.
Hopefully it can grow into a bigger dealership.

We called on a Tuesday and collected the vehicle on Thursday. Deven was helpful, fastidious, pleasant and always called back when he said he would, unlike another dealer we were looking to purchase from. A real asset to the dealership. I believe he’s a trainee but he knocks spots off the salesmen we have dealt with in the past, of which there are many. Thank you for a painless transaction.
