Service has always been prompt and fair! We have nothing but good to say about this insurance company. We have been with this company for years!
Info request
I called to request info be sent to my earthquake coverage. I also requested a digital copy of our auto insurance. Both items were attended to quickly and efficiently.
As public servants, we were loyal California Casualty home and auto insurance customers for more than a decade. Then, after my husband had two small fender benders over a period of a few years, they dropped our car insurance with hardly any notice—no email, no phone call. I'm shocked by the way they treat loyal customers. We stuck with them through some big rate hikes and told friends about their public service discount. Never again! Now I'm telling everyone I know to avoid this company.

We commenced with CalCas in March 2023. The broker who dealt with us was very helpful and things went relatively smoothly in the first year, however the broker left not long after and any phone calls we had with CalCas were less than stellar. Still we had no claims, so there was no real issue. Fast forward to March 2024, when our house insurance premium went up by 43% and our vehicle insurance went from $270 a month to $467! That was ridiculous. In the end we went back directly to our original insurer (who was underwritten by CalCas anyway) and got back to only a small increase over 2023's premiums.

I am a retired California Deputy Sheriff, chose this insurance as it was recommended by PORAC. After my monthly premiums went from $283 to $393 starting next month I will be shopping for new insurance. Called to inquire about the 38% increase, no tickets, accidents, or claims ever, seemed a bit excessive to say the least. Not only a retired law enforcement officer, also a combat war vet, and they now say I qualify for senior discounts at most places. I was offered a deal, $32 less a month if a doubled my deductibles. Thanks but no thanks!!

I’ve had several insurance companies in my time and California casualty is absolutely the best very fast on service and response and very professional and they get the problem solved immediately without any hassle. Keep up the great work California casualty.
I have had California Casualty for almost 30 years—first in CA and then in OR. I have never made a claim in all of those years. Last year they raised my rates about 10% stating that “all rates went up.” This year they DOUBLED my rates! No valid reasons—nothing has changed. No tickets, accidents, I live in the same place, I have the same car. Needless to say I found a new company but it left such a bad taste in my mouth—they made so much money off me all of these years and then doubled my rates for no reason. I’m way under 60 so they can’t claim I’m in a new “risk” category or anything else. So unethical and they clearly don’t care about keeping clients in my state.

I called California Casualty Insurance to ask about changes that I made to my policies over the summer and to have them explain them to me on policy statements. As I'm not an expert on insurance, I applaud their ability to explain the changes so that they were easily understood. This company is amazing! I would easily recommend them! Thank you for the fine service!
The customer service rep was very professional and offered things I was not aware of. Kept my business and appreciated all the help!
California Casualty has amazing Customer Service! I was not stuck in voice mail h**l, they answered promptly with actual person. Representative was able to answer my questions, explain coverage and cost to my satisfaction. I hung up with my daughter added to my car policy, and have moved all my policies to CalCas. Home, autos, RV and trailer. Nice to be with a company you trust!
Over the past 37 years that California Casualty has been my auto insurance provider they have provided good rates and services.
I’ve been with calcas for 15+ years. Recently they decided to not ensure my house and auto policy because they are pulling out of the state of Georgia eventually, so they say. Doing so, they’ve made it impossible to secure house and auto insurance elsewhere. Because I had 2 small home claims in 2021, no other insurance will pick me up because of the bad rating I received from calcas. I tried to reason with them to keep my policies until I could get coverage. They dropped me like a hot potato, kicked me to the curb. I’m without home and auto insurance. This company after all my years with them has proven to be disloyal.

I am law enforcement. I signed up with CA casualty because they supposedly offered great rates to public servants. Not the truth. They continued to raise my rates based on my neighbors commute surveys. I worked ten minutes from my house. No accidents. I called to complain about my rates increasing and the rep acted as if my account did not matter to the company.
I called AAA and it was over $100 less a month. CA casualty used to be a good company. Not any longer. Call AAA and compare. Guarantee it will be less with better coverage and benefits. I was with CA Casualty for about 15+ years.

Ive made 2 claims in the past two years, They were handled very quickly and efficiently , giving me a fair settlement .
BUT, my rates have tripled in the past few years, and that doesn't include the addition of earthquake coverage.
I'm shopping
In these times when prices are soaring and insurance carriers are dropping customers, our family is thrilled to have a great insurer that stays with loyal members. Thank you for being there for us.
Communication was second to none. Our Claims person ( Avianna) was extremely quick to respond to calls and emails. Our claim was an accident where our son hit a parked car at approx. 15 mph but clearly his fault. Then other party raved about how California Casualty treated him and the prompt service
Daniel was so helpful, my questions and problem were solved in no time.
Unethical practices, horrible customer service and unwillingness to help there customers. They attempt to make it extremely difficult almost impossible to get any service from there team. Do yourself a favor and avoid the headache and colossal waste of time.
