CanaDream RV - Vancouver Reviews 

From the beginning, I was spoken too rudely for asking about parking my personal vehicle. I just didn't know where to park, so I thought it was polite to ask. (On my return I realized it was the manager I had spoken too) Then the knolage or lack of knowledge from the person showing me the rv van was lacking not helpful. I was told not to put food in the cupboards because it would bring rodents in. Well, after trying to chase a water leak, I realized they already lived in the van. And after the guy on the phone got mad at me because I chose not to take thr time out of my trip with to have it repaired ibwas done. I dumped all the water and bought rodent traps. We got a hotel for a hot shower. My son and I had a great time fishing however the Van was a disappointment to him.. Sadly won't be renting from this company again.

Initial booking was easy and the team very helpful. When it came to paying the balance it was not as easy. We were initially invoiced an incorrect fee and the ability to BPay or EFT transfer is not an option. Coming from Australia we had to do a bank transfer. The motorhome was clean and ready on time. Some power points did not work and we were charged 2 parks Canada passes which should have been refunded as these were free for the time period we were in Canada.
I would also suggest that motorhomes come with a full tank of fuel so it is much easier to return with the correct amount

The rv was excellent. The only thing was the booking for collection was very late in the day which meant we were very late arriving at our first stop over.

After a bad experience with the booking team we picked up our super van camper from the excellent team at Vancouver they couldn’t do enough for us especially Latifa who was amazing.

We had issues, we had upset… a lot of emotions being in the middle of the Rockies….. customer service ? No comment ……. However depot in Vancouver and CD Van staff were absolutely great. I’ve deleted my previous review as all sorted now.

The motor home that we rented was really good shape very easy to operate.

The process of booking and payment was well managed and the staff were very helpful. The decision to try an RV was taken carefully after a trial run in Tasmania to ensure we could cope with the constraints. It came undone with series of maintenance issues , minor in themselves but very disruptive to our trip. Firstly the kitchen kit was too basic - 2 sets for 2 people, and day 1 we discovered a crack in one of the cups - down to 1 cup immediately. We tried several times to light the oven but failed to achieve ignition for the entire trip. After a few days we had to access the waste pipe for the Sani-dump. It was jammed down the bumper storage (1.5-2m in) and inaccessible. We had to obtain and fabricate a hook device from a hardware store to retrieve the waste pipe. A few days later the lock on the camper (which had been a little loose and problematic) completely failed meaning no access to our camper cabin at 6:00pm in 4 deg C temp. 5 hours and a locksmith to finally get access at 10:00pm. Disruptive experience.

Great RV roadtrip experience. Everything worked great in the RV. It’s not a cheap adventure but invaluable in terms of memories made. Booking process and staff made things as easy as can be. The only difficult thing is deciding where to explore!

Great experience! Have rented twice here now and it is always a smooth process, never had a problem and the R.V. is always of good quality.

Service, communication, collection and handover procss

Very friendly and helpful staff.
The vehicle's video introduction is very helpful.

The return of the vehicle went very smooth and quickly.

The vehicle itself was really well appointed and easy to use and follow. The instruction book was also very helpful and we were able to use the self supporting facilities offered in the vehicle instead of paying a high rate to stay in a service RV Campsite. The booking, checkin and returns process were very easy and the staff were very helpful. There was one issue only that was particularly bad which is why we are mentioning and that is the headlights on the vehicle We needed to travel at night sometimes and the headlights were terrible and caused us many problems.

Scam

Watch, they will downgrade you to smaller RV, charge you the same. They do it all the time, just want your booking and get all their vehicles out, then screw you on pickup.

I wish I had called the day before and confirmed, I could have got the RV I wanted from another company.

The RV bed configuration for comfort and making was poor. The drivers seat and passenger seat are of a commercial grade not comfort. The side mirrors could be shortened on each side by 15cm each side and still give good coverage of the passing traffic as the width they are is a bit daunting in highway traffic. The entry step and the opposite corner on the left hand side should be bought up in height level with the front door running boards, they arebfarbto low in many circumstances. The staff are above average in customer service and very helpful. Majority of staff greeted you with a smile. Overall we had a very good trip.

The extended camper van was the perfect size for the 2 of us and allowed us to move across the country at our own speed without having to make reservations.

RV handover and return very fast and efficient.
RV was in very good condition.
Tour planning with documentation provided very good.

The RV we had was wizard, and easy to drive. The how to guides were helpful and easy to understand and we soon got into the hang of hooking up at sites and keeping tabs on the content of the tanks. When we had a low tyre pressure warning light, customer support were very helpful. The one bugbear was that at booking, somethings such as bedding and kitchen kit are extras.

Great staff great holiday but….
We had a great time but I think Canadream could make improvements.
We arrived half an hour early to our slot but it was obvious that they were running late and we didn’t get to our RV on the slotted time. We were also held up because they had forgotten the kitchen and linen kits which caused further delays. This resulted in us missing our ferry to Vancouver island and having to pay over $200 dollars to rebook onto a later crossing.
The RV - it was big, 28ft big so plenty of space for just 2 people. I know we were on a saver 4 deal but the saver 2 wasn’t available at the time of booking and we knew it was going to be one of three sizes.
Unfortunately the van had issues
The van has been in service for a while because the amount of patching up on the outside and the worn/chipped cupboards on the inside showed its age.
Steering wheel was not on straight which was off putting when first driving.
The toilet leaked at the base but at least CD provided enough towels to stop water going everywhere.
The mattress definitely seen better days as it sunk in the middle and we kept rolling into each other during the night.
The side door latch was man enough to hold the door closed unless you locked it from the inside.
We were also plagued by flies from the first night which seemed to originate from the shower/toilet.
We had to ring CD about the toilet due to the black waste handle being stuck in the closed position. And it was worrying because the monitor was showing half full when we hadn’t used it. We did eventually fix it with hot water and brute force it was obvious that it was the previous renters waste that had not been cleaned out.
As I mentioned we still had a great holiday but these are easy fixes that could go a long way to improve the service that CanaDream provides.
