I brought my 1½-year-old daughter here after she suffered a painful burn on her foot. She was screaming and crying harder than I have ever seen in her life. As a father, I was extrem... See more

Called multiple times to contact…
Called multiple times to contact billing as they had billed me additional $100 more than price listed. 1st call - waited 15 minutes, sound started glitching, then called ended itself. 2nd call - reached someone (or maybe a pre-recorded "voice") pretending they couldn't hear me, then ended the call. It's a frustrating process I'm sure they do on purpose. Currently on the line for my 3rd call. At least they are creative in how to scam and avoid you to make you give up.
Same as other reviews
Same as other reviews, I had experienced horrible billing issue with them. The doctor is in my network, however, they claimed the whole carbon health is out of network even when my insurance company realized what they did wrong and ask them to refile the claims. They never fix their problems, and even worse that they go ahead directly charge money on your credit card, even without your permission!
Horrrible experience with them. I would never ever use this company again. Stay away at any cost if you dont want to pay an over-price cost!
By the way they charge my insurance company $571 for an 30 minutes virtual doctor visit. And they even claimed it is a office visit thing! Totally a scam!

Good digital experience
Always had attentive medical professionals. Best digital experience I could find outside of maybe the big hospitals with mychart.
The office staff does not check insurance
The office staff does not properly check your insurance. Upon booking the appointment, I was told my visit was completely covered and would only have a co-pay. My insurance rejected the claim: $300 vs $30 co-pay! At the booking, I clearly stated I would not be taking the appointment if it wasn’t covered, so they either lied outright or are not actually checking whether your insurance plan covers the visit.
Office visit charged for nothing done. Waste of time
I had an appointment scheduled in a location close to my house specifically for a plantar wart removal. After waiting for a while they told me the machine they use for that procedure was inoperable and I had to go to another location. I proceeded to the other location. Again after waiting a while the doc said she didn't know why I was sent there because they don't even have the machine. I was charged for an office visit. A month later I was charged more for an office visit because my insurance didn't pay. I called and emailed the billing help and was given a run around. I don't think I should have to pay because I walked through the door and lost wages with the amount of time spent. For 3 months now they made me believe something was going to be done. When I called today after a very lengthy conversation I was told there was nothing that could be done. No refunds. They could improve their policies on refunds. They could improve their communication between locations because they didn't let the new location know I was coming. They could of called and canceled my appt knowing the machine wasn't working but no they wanted my money.
Terrible Service and Model
Terrible Model! Badly Run creating more billing and revenue then actually focused on patients. Original Dr and Primary Care super easy and great at what they did. But they don't last. Also, supposed to be a Digital Model where you can interact digitally for administrative things. They don't monitor the inboxes and/or staff with lazy people that will tell you to book appointments so you can come in and watch a practitioner type into their computer. This is for routine, recurring care. They get paid for every appointment. Also they can't keep doctors....hmm...this limits your access to care. They have no practices in place to ensure the transition of care. they send you a form letter that says they are managing it and don't do anything. I now have to schedule 3 appointments to get exactly what was being done...at cost to me and my insurer.
As wonderful as this clinic was when we…
As wonderful as this clinic was when we went to it trying to get our medical records after we left from them has been a horrible experience. We moved to a different state and I was in need of my children’s shot records plus my medical records since I have a medical condition I have to keep track of. It has been almost 6 to 8 weeks since this process started, and I have still not received any medical records or follow up from the clinic. The clinic manager called me today and told me there is nothing she can do and I have to keep reaching out to an email address that told me to contact her clinic at this point my children shot records which I needed for their school didn’t come in so they lost their place in their charter school, which has over a 500 child waitlist and I had a medical episode Because I could not receive the proper care due to my practitioner waiting for my medical records and before people say oh they have an app which malfunctions and I cannot print my records out on it faxing the records was not an option. mailing them to me overnight would have been the best course which I offered to pay for unfortunately, this clinic does not care about you once you’ve left them They do not care as wonderful as they look and some of the people who work at the clinic are just avoid this clinic at all cost. It is not worth the stress or your children finding you passed out on the floor in a medical episode because of their negligence .
Please don't get services from them…
Please don't get services from this place. Service is great, I have no complaints about that part. It's their billing that is the problem.
I got serviced back in October 2023. The only thing I should be paying is my copayment, yet they keep billing me to this day April 2024.
Here's another kicker, I emailed them about this billing problem back in Nov 2023, tell me why they only got back to me two months later in Jan 2024 when I had already called their billing department a month prior? That was when they told me the bill would be taken care of and I had no further actions to provide. And then I get emailed with a bill that is over 90 days due. Even my insurance is confused, that is how bad it is.
DO NOT TRUST THE CARBON HEALTH BILLING DEPARTMENT!HE MEDICAL SUPPORT AND QUALTY IS TOP…
THE MEDICAL SUPPORT AND QUALTY IS TOP NOTCH AND GREAT AND CARING. I AGREE WITH ALL OF THESE POOR REVIEWS, BECAUSE THE BILLING DEPARTMENT KEEPS BILLING ME FOR VISITS OVER A YEAR OLD! EVERY TIME I COMPLAIN TO THE BILLING DEPARTMENT THEY IMMEDIATELY COME UP WITH SOME NEW INCORRECT BOGUS BILLING!
a Scam!I
a Scam!I I walked in for an earache simple right? NO girl front desk overly complimentary you're so pretty ect ..weird,,, I waited while she took my info which was my driver's license and my insurance ok good she says then she walks back to the exam room for a while. then she says I don't think your birthday is right! What? I knew right away something was fishy! back into the exam area and returns and she says well we can see you, but you will have to pay 200.00 dollars then your insurance will pick it up when you call them and fix your birthdate! lol ,,,Stay away they need to be reported ~
Positive Experience
I see below that there are many negative review of Carbon Health. I just went today and had excellent care by PA Gretchen. She did more for me than 3 Dr’s visits where I paid a lot more than my $35 co pay. I don’t know if in the future if I get bills like the others but today’s experience was a positive one at the Santa Monica Clinic and Paderia the Filipino Bakery is in the same building near the parking lot.
Do NOT go here.
Do NOT go here.
I got charged intially $85 for a test as they told me insurance would cover it. Then, they charge me $140 out of the blue and I call. I waited over 30 minutes for the customer support to answer the line. And they said, that the insurance decided I had to cover the entire fee PLUS the person I was talking with got super defensive and mad at me.
To top it all of, I haven't even received my test results yet almost 1 MONTH LATER. AVOID!!!! SCAM AND TERRIBLE SERVICE.
Just got an email from CH billing about…
Just got an email from CH billing about an unresolved issue from 6 months ago! Unbelievable. And after writing a lengthy complaint, the response was comically off base in language and tone.
CH is a horrible scam machine- stay away unless absolutely necessary for Urgent Care. The whole story is a long one- to shorten it up they screwed up on an Rx renewal after I had seen 2 different practitioners (both who quit a week after I saw them), and then insisted that I come in for an unnecessary 3rd visit with another Doctor in order to get my already established Rx (for Blood Pressure, so I need this). The horrible woman- Diane Saxton, I believe- in customer service assured me I would not be charged for the visit- and I was.
They are still trying to get the $40- FORTY DOLLARS- from me, and they fraudulently billed Blue Shield as well.
DO NOT USE CARBON HEALTH. Horrible, horrible, uncaring customer service.
AVOID!!!! TOTAL NIGHTMARE. HORRIBLE PLACE
AVOID!!!!! The worst experience I've ever had in my life. An absolute nightmare. They will charge your card for the full amount immediately after the visit, then claim not to receive the check from your insurance. I've emailed billing and support dozens of times with no response. I've called so many times and they put you on hold for 40 minutes+. I was charged $750 for a visit to get antibiotics for a UTI
Shady
They are shady. Charged my card without my permission (I emailed them to send me the bill so I could call my insurance) for a bill that shouldn't exist because my insurance covers it. I have called dozens of times and I'm on hold for at least 40 minutes each time, I've been hung up on multiple times, and I've emailed over the last 3 months without a reply.

They keep billing me for visits that I didn’t even have !!! Super frustrating and annoying, don’t go there.
