Good customer service, quick and polite

I had good experience with CarFree Rent Warsaw Chopin Airport. Rapid pickup and return service. Everything was fine.

The whole process of hiring a car was completed smoothly. Excellent communication from Carfree. The car was clean and relatively new and at a competitive price. The return of the car was also an easy process. I would highly recommend Carfree and would definitely use them again.

We have just arrived back from Krakow. The car itself was good. However, it was made very clear on the booking that the credit card and main driver needed to be in the same name. However, I have recently been married so my passport was not yet in my married name. The young rep at the desk was rather rude saying it was ‘weird’ and that because my name didn’t match they could only offer me the car if I paid for their insurance (which was still under my married name). Also, the car seats were not safe or adequate for use so I’d suggest taking your own. Finally, on arrival the young lad who was checking over the car asked if we’d paid extra to not return the outside of the car clean. The car was used minimally in a country full of snow, so had some dirt on the back, not excessive. I’ve rented cars all over the world and it’s never been a question about the exterior of a car. Only the interior.
However, the process of returning the car was pretty smooth. No complaints there.

I will not rent with Car Free in Warsaw again. I have rented a bigger SUV type car and they gave me a Toyota Yaris!! Claiming it is ‚the same class’! Its not! They are not polite often. They charge for cleaning fee extra while the car was rented only for 5 days and I was driving alone! Its full of traps so be aware. The car worked but frankly - you can rent stress free. The parking for rented cars is really far out of the airport and you need to carry your laugage there back and force… not worth the hassle. Pass and pay a bit more but at the end less. Believe me. The 5 star reviews here are likely bought.

I’ve rented a lot of cars abroad and it is always a bit stressful. But Cafree Krakow were brilliant. No issues for me at all. The staff on the desk were great and didn’t try and force extra charges on me like some companies do. The car was in great condition just watch out for the clean car fee everyone seems to be getting stung for. But renting a car for less than £10 a day I think it is reasonable to have to hand it back in clean condition. We jet washed the car down as it was dirty after we used it. And left no mess inside and they accepted it no problem. Overall great experience would highly recommend

Perfect service used couple times never problems.

I received a call from the team the minute my booking was placed to confirm details and discuss payment options. The advantage was possibility to pay for rent at arrival, nice staff and quick service. Good value for money. I recommend the CarFree for car rental.

I got a message to say my review has got a reply but there is no reply. More games I suspect.
Everything went well. Collection from the airport (Krakow) and return all good. Nice car and excellent price. The excess pending payment got closed down within a few days of getting home so i wrote them a 10/10 review. The day after they helped themselves to 90PLN from my credit card. They were slow to respond to my emails and did not explain why they had helped themselves to my money. In the end they said it was because we returned the car 1 hour early. The returns guy was keen to get the car checked back in but if we had known they would charge us for bringing it back 1 hour early we could have sat in the car and waited. Carfree Poland have been very slow to respond to my complaint and very dismissive. It would appear that because we got such a good price on car hire they needed to make it up on any opportunity they could and they did. They have refused to return my money they helped themselves to.

I had a very poor experience with CarFree Rent a Car. When I went to pick up the car, the assistant refused to accept my credit card for the deposit because it didn’t show my full first name. My name is too long to fit on any of my bank cards, so all of them display only the initial of my first name followed by my full surname. I showed multiple cards and explained this clearly, but she still insisted I had to pay an extra fee because of it. I’ve rented cars many times before (including five times through DiscoverCars) and have never experienced anything like this. The extra charge felt completely unjustified. Because of this, I couldn’t take the car, had to use public transport, and ended up late for my appointments, adding a lot of unnecessary stress to my short weekend trip. Very disappointing experience. I would not recommend CarFree Rent a Car based on the way I was treated.

Fast to pick-up the car, no further issues

This was the second rental for us from CarFree. The customer service team was very helpful in explaining what would give us the best rate as it was to be a long booking. Upon collection the guy at the sales desk even lent me his charging cable for the car as my phone battery was flat.
