I absolutely would not recommend this…

I absolutely would not recommend this company to anyone. The process was disorganized and frustrating from start to finish. Despite providing accurate documentation, my income was incorrectly evaluated, and no clear explanation was given. It felt like a complete waste of time. If you’re looking for a smooth and professional experience, I would strongly suggest going elsewhere.

Overall good experience but could be better.

Overall I found the experience to be positive and for the most part very easy. I didn’t give 5 stars because I feel there are a few things that are lacking.
From the time I submitted an initial application it seems like things were tackled with a since of urgency but after I received my email saying my loan was approved, everything came to a standstill. Your email stated after the approval and uploading of documents someone would reach out within 2 Buisness days and that did not happen. There was no call, email or text. I literally waited a week and then had to call to find out what the status was and only then did the process get started again and this lack of communication really slowed/stalled the whole process. Once the process started again everything was once again going smoothly until it came time to sign the contract. This contract contained an item in it that was not mentioned beforehand and the document was not clear as to if it was a one time fee or recurring and this made me not want to sign the contract. I provided feedback to my loan advisor about this and his response was “ I appreciate the feedback. These details are outlined in the lender’s documents as well. Before we wrapped up, I did ask if you had any questions and made sure you had my contact info in case anything came up or you wanted to hop back on a call.” While he may feel that is an acceptable response, I was not provided any “lender documents” before the contract came and it’s ridiculous to think I would be able to ask a question before “ wrapping up” if I hadn’t received the contract yet so I couldn’t possibly know about the document in the contract to ask a question about it. I do give my loan advisor credit, he was extremely helpful and timely with responses once I had a question or concern so for that reason, I still give the process 4 stars overall. It is just my opinion that the process does have some areas to improve that would make it top notch.

They released my info to the dark web

They released my info to the dark web. Then they call asking to verify a few things, instead they lied to me about the reason for the call. They also said they had me approved, but it turned out on the call they were lying about that as well. I think they are just a middle man selling your information to other banks. CAUTION!

I had an extremely frustrating…

I had an extremely frustrating experience with Caribou. The process was disorganized, repetitive, and unnecessarily complicated from start to finish.

Despite clearly resolving a DMV-related issue and confirming there were no active holds on my registration, I was repeatedly asked to “clear violations” that were already handled. Even after explaining this multiple times, the same requests kept coming back in a loop, as if no one was actually reviewing the information provided.

The representative in particular, seemed completely unaware of the status of my file and repeatedly asked for the same documents and explanations. It felt like there was no internal communication or understanding of their own requirements or terms. Every interaction led to the same questions being asked again, with no progress.

What should have been a straightforward refinance turned into weeks of back-and-forth, with constant delays and zero accountability. It honestly felt like they were creating unnecessary barriers instead of helping move the process forward.

Overall, the experience was inefficient, frustrating, and a complete waste of time. I would strongly recommend going directly through a bank or another lender rather than dealing with Caribou.

Very frustrating experience

Very frustrating experience. I would strongly recommend working directly with a lender instead of using a broker, especially Caribou. The process has been slow, disorganized, and my issue is still not resolved.
I started my auto refinance process with Caribou before February, and it has now been over two months with a very frustrating and disorganized experience.
Throughout the process, I was contacted by multiple different representatives, with no clear point of contact. Each time I was told everything was complete, new documents were requested, which caused continuous delays.
My loan was eventually approved and funded by Consumers Credit Union on March 2. However, Caribou delayed sending the payoff to my previous lender (GM Financial) for several weeks. I was never proactively informed about this. I only found out after contacting the new lender myself.
Because of this delay:
I was forced to make an additional payment on March 16 to my previous lender
I currently have two active auto loans for the same vehicle
Interest continues to accrue on the previous loan
When I contacted Caribou, I did not receive clear answers. I was told to “wait 24 hours,” redirected between teams, and given generic responses that did not address my situation.
Even after escalating, the only communication I received was a general email stating that the payoff “has been sent” and that I am responsible for continuing payments. No explanation was provided regarding the delay or the financial impact caused.
This process has been far from what was advertised. The refinance was supposed to be simple, fast, and efficient, but instead it has been slow, unclear, and poorly managed.
Based on my experience, I strongly recommend working directly with a lender rather than using a broker like Caribou.
