Crooks
I have today sold the car . Online cancelling the remaining policy term.
They are sending me a payment of just over £2 .
Trousering £55 for themselves to cancel the policy.
Wow what a bunch of crooks.
Been with these a few years and never claimed a cockle.
We will put this on social media as not a way to treat a loyal customer .
Whom will not use them again for motor insurance.

Halifax Car Insurance is rubbish !
Halifax Car Insurance is just a marketing front for abysmal customer service provided by various faceless organisations - 3 months after a no-fault rear end bump and I am still waiting for my car to be repaired !
After the initial report Halifax bow out and Enterprise, IMS, Markerstudy and Minster Law take over. What a dogs dinner they make of it, no communication, no common sense and a lack of joined up knowledge that is hard to believe. Why, do once reputable firms join up with such partners who drag them down with such poor customer service. Obviously I've not renewed with Halifax and my Home Insurance will also be moved next year - this won't cause them concern I know but at least I can vote with my feet as well as sharing my experiences.

I tried twice to pay for car insurance online but when I entered my once only 6 digit the transaction stopped. I went to my local branch and 2 members of staff could not find reason.Using the quote no. I was able on the phone using the same debit card pay the bill.
Later I queried this with Halifax automatic Q&A which said I'd reached my spend limit, clearly rubbish.Give a proper answer please Halifax.

Shocking incompetence leading to my policy being cancelled.
Started policy 7 weeks ago and put not fault claim that was not even dealt with yet on quote and took out policy…wake up this morning to an email stating policy cancelled last night at 23.59 so eventually get to talk to someone that says it’s because I never told them of non fault claim which I did.then told they have emailed me about it twice in last 2 weeks yet no emails.then told have to start new policy and they added £600 extra for the non fault claim they were told about before.then told I owe them a cancellation fee for old policy.complete farce of a company.

If Halifax Car insurance was the only car insurance available I would take the bus everywhere.
As another reviewer writes pray you never need to claim.
I actually feel sorry for the staff employed on the phones, hiding to nothing, will no doubt have people screaming and shouting down the phone. Life’s too short for stress inflicted on a claims process like this, it’s bad for your health !
Good customer service
I don't really get the bad reviews. Insured my little Polo with them for a tuppence with competitive extras. Their customer service was excellent - I was on hold for only 10 seconds! I have never made a claim (and hope it stays that way) but if the need should arise I would be surprised if it is as bad as everyone says it is. A lot of the negative reviews also seem to be entirely the fault of the individual not reading the terms or the fineprint.

I wish I’d looked at the reviews before putting my trust in this company . The stress and time these have caused me and still are after 6 weeks is unbelievable .

I gave the Halifax home insurance 1 star only because I couldn't leave none. Do not buy insurance from them. Dreadful..they dont honour a claim and try everything to avoid paying out..I gave up..
Go elsewhere or be prepared to be ripped off!
Cancelled car insurance as sold the car, they charged me £55 to cancel which was all done by computer online!!!!
Total rip off.
Go elsewhere is my advice, they can obviously offer good prices by ripping you off if things change.
DO NOT INSURE WITH HALIFAX
DO NOT INSURE WITH HALIFAX
I have been with the Halifax for years and all was going well until my home was broken into and the scumbags took my car keys and my car.
My car was parked on my drive at 10:30pm on the night, I had been to a wakeboarding competition, arrived home late and thought out of respect for my neighbours I would empty the boot of my car in the morning.
Rookie error! My car was stolen with near £4000 of sports gear in the boot. When I contacted my insurance this is the sh**t you have to deal with.
they say they are available 24/7 to help - nope none can help on a Sunday.
I then asked if my equipment was covered - nope classed as personal belongings £100 max worth of cover (small writing under the big green writing stating I was covered for personal belongings).
I then asked for the hire car so I could continue to work - nope your car isn’t being repaired in a garage and we state MAY be able to have a courtesy car.
And just to add salt to the wound they have taken my no claims bonus as apparently it was my fault!
Promised two callbacks- nope nothing.
Cocky advisor stated well you agreed to the policy!
I will be going to the ombudsman
Shoddy bunch of money grabbing cowboys. Thank you for your support.
I contacted Halifax to change my…address and take off my spouse from my policy
I contacted Halifax to change my address and to take my spouse off my policy, and to change my address as I've just moved I was told this would cost £275.00

I would never have a Halifax mortgage after the difficulties I have had trying to port my mortgage that I was reducing to a new property. I have had my current mortgage for over 7 years and previous to that one for 6 years. Issues that were of no fault of my own and paperwork to prove it resulted in curt, unhelpful service from the mortgage advisors. Claiming that one advisor should not have given me information that he had! Hence I have now gone with nationwide who have been quick and reliable.

So had AA take over 2 times last years amount using old card details spoke to customer service at best she was thick kept telling me they had used new card details which they have never been given gave up with this person used message chat instead spoke with 2 people one called Stuart who said I'd signed up for rolling subscription and closed chat so I could not resolve issue.
Just wondering why you have to jump through hopes to not renew a service
If I wanted the service I would have acknowledged the renewal letter

I phoned to ask them not to reanew my car insurance.
But instead they cancelled it 3 weeks before for it was due to expire and I'd payed already for that last month.
And they charged me a cancellation fee of £45.
Don't trust Halifax car insurance!!!!!!!
And when you phone them to say that you don't want to renew your car insurance with them they keep you on the phone for ages asking loads of questions I think that they do it hoping that you loose the will to live and give up and just keep your car insurance with them even though you've already got a cheaper option with another company.
Every other car insurance company that I've contacted to not renew my car insurance have been very helpful and the phone call has been quite short
Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs. After a no fault RTA where the other driver admitted full liability you would think this would be a straightforward claim. The problem is that Halifax hand over the claim to the underwriters, Sabre, who are the most incompetent company I have ever dealt with. Our claim was passed between multiple agencies which we constantly had to chase, a true case of nobody knowing who was doing what. Calls to premium numbers and waiting on hold for over 45 minutes were not unusual. Finally after the car was taken to a random garage for repair (they would not approve a repair by Toyota!) the garage damaged the car on it's return journey. Unfortunately we are only 2 months into the policy otherwise I would cancel and demand a refund. I will never use their products again, Halifax are happy to take a £1900 premium but are not interested in helping their customers.
Totally and utterly incompetent. Just a tick box company
Apparently, I owed Halifax £10.71. Tried on at least x5 times to pay this amount and was told that I had to set up another online DD. In the end, I kept on getting text messages and then they passed this onto company called C.A.R.S who threatened to sue me.
Halifax are an absolute joke, unprofessional and the worst I have come across in 40 years. GO ELSEWHERE
