The house was comfortable. Enjoyed the upper and lower decks. We had very warm days and very cool days throughout our stay. This house was comfortable in both hot and cold, inside and out. The only thing I would have liked was to be able to use the fireplace on those cold nights.

We booked last minute due to our reservation being canceled by another company, so I appreciate the quick accommodations. The house was wonderful. Beautiful view, we enjoyed the hot tub and the elevator came in handy with our luggage and with our elderly moms, the kitchen had plenty of dishes/pans/appliances and we enjoyed the nice deck furniture. My only complaint is that it could have been cleaner. Every common place where people touch (doors, walls, cabinets, chairs, tables) all had a dirty blackish grime on them. We used Clorox wipes on a lot of it and most of it came off. We ended up buying a tablecloth to cover the table because that was a bigger task than we wanted to take on. I realize a lot of people are in and out of the houses all the time, but I feel like a deeper clean every now and again is needed. Overall, we were very pleased.

We experienced a hiccup during our recent stay. The property we rented had an elevator malfunction, rendering it out of service. This issue was of no fault of the property management team. But, the issue was disastrous for our trip, as my mother is handicapped. The team at the Pleasure Island office was outstanding! They listened to our concerns, treated us with kindness, and solved our problem. I am so grateful for the way they treated us- it felt above and beyond! Highly recommend!

Super clean and beautifully appointed condo with huge 2nd floor ocean porch! This location is fantastic and made walking to restaurants and of course the beach so convenient. My favorite time was watching the sun come up each morning!

We rented #5A condo at Sea Colony, Carolina Beach the first week in October. I called the day before to make sure everything was in good order, especially since we had had a near hurricane Ian just days before. I was NOT told there was a large crew of construction workers cutting out and replacing the deck railings on condos beside, above and below ours. The huge diesel lifts were outside our condo for 3 days, not only smelling of diesel fuel, motor noise but also ruining the view. We could not use the deck at all from the sound, smell and occasional flying wood pieces from the construction. We intended a vacation for peace and quiet by the ocean, not construction and it could have been avoided if we were just told...I would have chosen another week. When I called to complain on the 2nd day that there was loud boombox music for the pleasure of the construction workers, the property manager told me they only managed 3 condos in that unit and did not have good contact with their HOA....no excuse. Even with only ONE unit, you should know what's happening there! To their credit, Carolina Retreats did hear my complaint but we chose to leave before our trip was over....it was NOT worth almost $1150 for 4 nights to have this inconvenience. As for the condo, I did not complain about it's very dated interior, dirty tub faucets, broken cabinets in the kitchen, a rusted out outdoor metal table, and poor maintenance on the part of the owner. I believe the owner should pay closer attention to their property if they expect to get the same high price as other units with much more care taken to their properties. It's time for a renovation! On a good note, the property was convenient to downtown and had an elevator.

This customer service is top notch! So kind and thoughtful from the time we booked until we checked in. I will definitely use them again!

Highly recommend Carolina Retreats (Blue Water Realty) for all your vacation needs. My recent stay was at Sea Colony 2A. Unit super clean, fully furnished in living area and kitchen. Suggestions for owner to move this rating to 5 star: replace 4 cup coffee maker with 10-12 cup; replace master bedroom mattress and living room sofa. Sorry but that bed was the most uncomfortable I've ever slept in. Was like sleeping on/in a marshmallow. Same for sitting on sofa.

Everything was great except for the bed. It was as hard as a rock.

We have nothing but good things to say about Carolina Retreats. We had two small issues with our cottage which were both addressed quickly and with friendly staff. Would definitely rent through them again.

When we arrived the house was filthy. Dog hair in dish cabinets, 2 beds had dirty bedding, dust hanging off ceiling fans and doors, looked like the floors had not been swept, cookies and popcorn in the sofa, grime and dirt on the dining room chairs, and dirty dishes

We have stayed with Carolina Retreats twice now and enjoyed both times:) I had rented for several years from another company and find their prices to be a little less, but the value to be more! What do I mean by more value- it’s nice to be able to wash your hands (& those other necessities;) after driving all day! The condo we stayed in this time was a little more basic (not as updated & it was very nice when I called to ask about the property that fact was mentioned to me!;) but it was very clean and oceanfront, that’s what I care most about!;) I don’t come for a fancy kitchen (I do plenty of cooking at home, I want fresh seafood that I can’t get in Ohio!;) I come to enjoy listening to the ocean or walking on the beach! A lot of condos seem to be getting rid of screens so you can leave the balcony doors open, this condo had perfectly working screen doors and if I can’t be on the beach, I still want that ocean breeze & sound!;) I will definitely rent from them at Ocean Dunes on Kure Beach again!

The house was exceptional! The staff at Carolina Retreats is always responsive and helpful. Have stayed a few times through them and will continue to do so!

The house could have been cleaner. No vacuuming had been done under the beds and the kitchen garbage bins were very smelly because food had not been cleaned from the cabinet that holds the cans. Other than that, the place was very well stocked with essentials.

The condo is very nice, well equipped. We had a terrible time getting the television going. Four different people tried to get it going. Turns out the ROKU box was defective and they had to bring another. But it took numerous hours over three days to figure that out. Other things like one of the elevators were not working.

This was an excellent property, the house was everything we expected. The single issue we had was reported on Sunday and even tho the property management company website says they are open on Sunday, we got no response until Monday, which was fine, not an urgent issue and was handled Monday perfectly. Would definitely rent this property again!

Had a great time and the place was also great!!

for the price given that this was an October rental - we were expecting better. The accomodation is small and cramped even for 4 people. It was not well stocked at all with things like handsoap, trash bags or paper towel. The lack of cleaning products made it hard to keep clean. We spent a good deal at the local grocery the day we arrived.

We love the Sea Notes beach house! Just the right size for my wife and I, our daughter and her husband, and our two small grandchildren. The cottage is done up prettily with white waisncot/bead-board and cozy furnishings, granite countertops in the kitchen, and good flooring throughout. We appreciated the extra bathroom and laundry room on the parking level. The covered porch and ocean view is grand, and there is a nice, easy access to the beach.

We hope to come again with our son, his wife, and our other two grandchildren; and again with our youngest daughter and son-in-law!
