I had a fantastic stay at the Beach. This is my 3rd stay at You and Sea. The view can not be beat. I was such a great Birthday week. Love this beach and cottage.

The rental agency was great to work with and responded promptly to the issues we had with the house. There were issues with the house that should’ve been addressed prior to our arrival. The house needs a new air conditioner and fridge.

A lovely location and a lovely stay! The staff even asked if we needed any extra towels/etc when they saw us outside one day! Only steps away from the beach, very comfortable bed and beautiful room. You can definitely tell they just updated it!

The home and location would have made a nice beach vacation except for the deferred maintenance and poor housekeeping. When we arrived two bath fans were in operable, hot water in kitchen sink was barely a trickle, dishes left in the dishwasher, wet towels in washing machine, dirty kitchen towels on floor at washer, and most floors were literally coated with sand and grime (not vacuumed at all). After grandchild's bath and walking on the floor for less than one half hour, feet had to be rewashed before putting to bed. Fans were repaired within 2 days and kitchen faucet replaced on 4th day, both maintenance and plumber were nice and accommodating. We received a substandard vacation experience, yet paid the full price. At this time I cannot recommend this company's properties.

I gave Carolina Retreats 3 stars because in my experience from vacationing with them (6 consecutive years), they have always been responsive to concerns. I was disappointed, however, to discover roaches in this cottage- NOT water bugs, but roaches. I trust that management will be extremely responsive to this issue.

The back porch was not usable space due to the depth of sand piled up on it. I tried shoveling it off but at 64 years old was not able to properly. I missed just sitting out and enjoying the view. The house could also use a new coffee pot as the one there does not keep coffee hot very long.

The house was very nice with two levels and a wonderful porch overlooking the ocean. Nice outdoor shower. The house was in nice condition. If I had one criticism it’s that the heating/ air conditioning was a bit noisy. I would have no hesitation in renting it again. The path to the beach was short and this part of the beach is wide and beautiful.

We had a wonderful week with beautiful weather.
The Appel Cottage was a great destination. It is well appointed and carefully maintained. Would not hesitate to stay here again,
One suggestions:
1. The internet service was poor. Having stayed at many cottages on Topsail, I can state with certainty that their Internet service was not one we have ever seen before but it had the worst reception,

Parking-all of the above-it was pretty much awesome.

We were very pleased with our house. It was very comfortable and exceptionally clean. There were several small things that could improve a stay such as more nightlights so we didn't have to leave lights on to navigate at night. Also, more waste baskets would be nice since only the baths and kitchen had one. There is no fish cleaning table for those who like to fish. The kitchens could be better equipped. Trying to set a table for 8 would be difficult.
The linens furnished are far from being adequate so be prepared to bring your own towels. One towel and one washcloth per person is not adequate for a week! Neither is one hand towel per bath! Bed linens were fine.
We would stay again but the few additions listed above and improve tv reception would make this a 5 star house.

We had a great visit. We experience a few setback getting in to our place when we arrived. We paid for early entry but it ended up being late getting in because the keyless entry was not set. We were told we would get a refund on the early entry. We have not received it yet.

On site customer service was great. Our room fulfilled what we needed. Close to the ocean and access point.

Oak Island Beach Motel was wonderful!! The rooms were spotless and the staff was amazing!! It was the best beach vacation I've ever had and I won't stay anywhere else. Please tell the staff the Campbell's are so grateful to them.

Risky Business was a great house and we enjoyed our stay.

We had multiple issues and no resolution by Carolina Realty representative. The patio door would not lock, the air vents were filthy, the kitchen had unusable unsanitary cookware, the batteries for the TV were corroded, the vacuum bag was full and vacuum would not operate and finally, the quality and quantity of bath towels was not satisfactory. We had one hand towel and two washcloths for two adults for four days. We were very unhappy and reported the deficiencies immediately. Nothing was fixed. Would not recommend this unit or this property or Carolina Realty in Wrightsville NC.

We had lock problems with our unit and the office representative and the service tech could not have been more helpful and prompt in addressing our needs.
