Beware T&C's!

I am putting an average mark on this as I have not now purchased through the site. I was preparing to...

Then I realised that number plate suppliers are supposed to check your documents before issuing plates, so dug deep into the terms and conditions on the website.

It is clearly written:
"Plates supplied by the company ( Car Plates Direct ) are Show Registration Plates which are made and supplied for “off road” use only, car shows exhibitions, private land etc, where the law does not apply. Due to the strict
restrictions of trade given by the UKs ‘DVLA’ all plates, including legal style layout or full design control are sold to the Purchaser on the basis of being for show use only and the Purchaser may risk prosecution if the registration plates are used on UK highways."

Basically, these are not road legal! Because it is written in the terms on the company website, there is also no comeback if you buy and then realise they are illegal plates once they arrive.

placed an order on 23rd and website has countdown clock on for same day dispatch so felt sure it was being dispatched same day, also paid £9.99 for express delivery - we are now on the 30th and no sign of them whatsoever and impossible to talk to the company - beginning to think I have been scammed - have left 4 voicemails now

they have just replied on this review saying that they were dispatched on the 27th but I ordered them on 23rd and website clearly says same day dispatch - also paid £9.99 for so called express delivery - they use Evri and the link they have posted says they have got them now but no sign of when they will be delivered

Why am I still waiting for my plates to arrive (ordered on the 3rd December). E mails go unanswered. If we treated customers in our business like this we would'nt have a business!

They talk about a team willing and able to give great customer service. Appalling is a simple summary. Nobody answers the phone or responds to emails via their website. I really needed a rear plate for a trip abroad this Saturday but it never arrived. I thought I would give them the benefit of doubt, called then 4 or 5 times leaving a message each time. I wrote them an email but got no response. I am afraid I would give this lot a very wide berth. I have now spent more money with a different supplier. I will ask for a refund but they will probably ignore my correspondence yet again.

Cheap plastic. Cracked when pre-drilling. And the customer service and great warranty that is claimed on their website is non-existent. Avoid. Plenty of other plate suppliers out there.

Many plate suppliers sound good - until it comes to payment and ridiculous delivery charges. Car Plates Direct have a brilliant website to navigate. The prices are good, delivery charge ok and the delivery time superb. The plates are excellent too. So why check out any other supplier. Go with CPD, you won't be disappointed.

Fantastic service. Easy to navigate website, fair prices. Plates needed tidying up and ordered from CPD! New plates arrived in great condition, ahead of schedule considering I now live up in Scotland! Definitely recommend.

Poor service . 1905744 ordered Tuesday 10:39am. Not received my order . Pay for express delivery. Tried emailing. Not received any emails about delivery.

Will I ever get my plate ?????

Update: still not received plate or even delivery email

can you update when its meant to arrive , i've only received your email saying its been made , but noting else in main or spam folder

Update: day four still no plate. Only just received my evri email saying they have received item Thursday

Update: sat 23rd received email saying parcel will be with me within 72 hours

Update: day 6 sun 27th don't think it'll be getting delivered on a sunday

The motorcycle plate arrived quickly and was of decent quality, however it wasn’t exactly as I had ordered (typed in on their screen). I also made a special note in the ‘Hold my Design’ comments section. All this was ignored and my subsequent emails were all unanswered. So not impressed with their ‘friendly team’ 😤

Bought a few sets of plates from car plates direct and always had a consistent service. Ordered my latest set late on a Thursday night and they arrived on Saturday. Price is a bit higher than some other suppliers but the quality is always excellent and they arrive quickly. Best supplier I've found so far.

I ordered plates and they arrived quickly and were excellent, however on my bank statement I can see I. have been charged twice for them and there is no way of getting through to this company. Emails bounce, the chatbot doesn't understand you and tells you to use the email address which bounces

I placed an order (Order number: 1889222) on 14 Oct 2024 and selected express delivery as I needed it urgently for a car I had purchased . I have still not received my order to date and it is impossible to contact the company. There is no telephone number and the email they provide on their website keeps coming back as unable to deliver. I did speak to Evri who should have received the order but they cannot find it and asked me to contact the company … but I have no way of doing this. If someone from the company picks this up can you please make contact as I no longer need the plates as I had to get them made up elsewhere because of urgency . I assume they will have some compensation arrangements with Evri in the event that they are at fault, so essentially I am looking for a full refund.

Surely there must be a breach of consumer rights not to provide a way of contacting a seller (which actually functions/works) and provide a refund where goods were not provided.

I think I will seek legal advice. What do others think about this ?

Whenever I have ordered number plates from this company they have always arrived quickly and are of the highest quality.

Fast, efficient service with no messing around.

I’ve made numerous attempts to contact them on their webpage. Constantly met with “agents are busy” and refusal to provide a phone number for customer service which is obviously intentional. I placed my order via express delivery on Friday 11th, it is now Tuesday 15th and have not heard since.

Spare yourself the hassle and go elsewhere. If you do buy from here, DO NOT pay for express shipping and expect your plates to arrive later than expected.

Great service, easy to use website. Good follow up with fitting instructions etc. Highly recommend
