It was fine in general, but! Touch screen panel did not work. So, using it for navigation was impossible. I am sure rental iffice knew about this defect. I have sent them video of a problem via email.... See more

I had a great experience with CarQ during my stay in Heraklion. The booking process was simple and straightforward, and the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The car was clean, in excellent condition, and exactly what I needed for exploring Crete. Pick-up and drop-off were quick and hassle-free. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a reliable and stress-free car rental service!

CarQ in Heraklion, Crete is a DISHONESTY SCAM. Do not, I REPEAT, DO NOT RENT A VEHICLE FROM THIS COMPANY. If you do, it will cost you more in the end, IN MONEY & IN HEARTACHE. Exactly as in all the other reviews here, we returned the car without causing any damage, and were forced under threats and pressure to pay HUGE SUMS OF MONEY for some pre-existing, tiny abrasion to the black plastic trim on a rear bumper. Two couples arrived there after us, with EXACTLY the same issue. They are THIEVES and CRIMINALS who should not be allowed to get away with this! Go to MONZA - an honest company, for example, and pay a little more. It is worth it! Spare yourself the suffering and humiliation you definitely will receive from CarQ or their sub companies.

We rented a car at Santorini airport to that agency in May 2025.
We had a tiny scratch on the front of the car at the drop off .
They applied an overpriced and not justified rate for the repair 350E !!
And we did not have any choice to negotiate or refuse it because they knew that we have our flight soon. So I had to sign the aggrement as a hostage for release the case
It is a real scam!!
Before renting a car there take a look at trustpilot and you will see a long list of people complaining about having been scammed by them.Res 44358
It seems that it is a regular practice to get easy money from tourists from that agency.

🚫 *Avoid CarQ – Unfair Charges!*
I rented a car from CarQ at Athens Airport, and my experience was terrible. Upon returning the vehicle, I was charged €600 for minor scratches and a not even slightly forced lock. The actual repair cost was €425.32, that is unjustifiable for the damage, and they also added a €150 immobilization fee and €40 in administrative costs, making the total unreasonably high.
I requested clarification, but their customer service was unhelpful and lacked transparency, playing on the fact that I was almost losing my flight and forced me to accelerate the signature in order to leave.
If you want a fair and honest rental experience, stay away from CarQ*!

Scamming customers. After a car hire in Santorini they discovered a tiny scratch below the drivers side door and charged €350 for it. Avoid this company!

Scammers! those are the same Eco Rental in Thessaloniki...
Be careful. The lady seems polite at first, but she is hiding a scam for when you return the car.
You take the car quickly, and they make sure a small scratch you didn’t notice isn’t marked on the paperwork. Later, she will charge you an excessive amount for it.
If you argue, she will tell you that your insurance covers 100%, but she won’t mention that even full insurance doesn’t cover the time the car is unavailable during repairs.

Hello
Someone rented a car in Miami?
Whats the amount for security deposit?

Reply from CarQ
Stay away from this company...
The CarQ rental desk is operated by Miami Life Cars (MLC). They both are scammers.
While I add reserved a car for a week thru CarQ and made sure prior to retrieving the car that the price I had booked for really was the price I was going to pay (and I had a writen confirmation of that from them - no extra fees, no extra insurance or other hidden costs was going to be charged to me), it still happenned.
They ended up forcing me to pay an incredibly expensive insurance, which multipled the price of the rental by 5 (going from $125 to $650)!!!
On top of that, the car I was given was all beat-up and scratched, the driver's safety belt was faulty, the windshiled wiper was broken, and the baby car seat was moldy.
And! On top of that! They are now using my credit card info to pay for road tolls I didn't use and other unexplained parking fees...
As I said: stay away from both these companies... CarQ and Miami Life Cars (MLC).

CarQ is the worst Car Rental Experience Ever - Stay Away!
I can’t believe how terrible this company is! We rented a car for our trip to Greece, only to find out when we arrived that they didn’t have any automatic cars, even though we specifically asked for one (on Tipoa website). They took our money without hesitation and didn’t offer any solution, refund, or even a proper apology.
To make matters worse, we had also paid extra for a baby car seat, which they didn’t return either! We were left without a car and without the money we paid, and no one from the company seemed to care or take responsibility. This company is a complete scam. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. If you value your money and sanity, DO NOT use this rental service.
Worst experience of our entire trip!

Carq Miami Airport is a scam!!!
Don’t walk run away from this place, it’s a total scam. I booked a rental 8 months in advance, through vip cars who sublet the rental through Carq, a 8 days rental came to £158. I purchased insurance for £100 from another well known insurance company. On the day of collection, Carq added an additional 600usd for insurance and told me they would not accept any other insurance but their policy an and I had to take their insurance or will not be given the car. They also added an additional 19usd per day for tolls in case went through tolls. I told them none of this was told to me before I came to collect the vehicle as I read the contact sent to me. The customer service guy then kept repeating that’s why he is there to tell me on day of collection. This place was a nightmare it was dirty, music blasting so load you could not heard yourself think and looked to be run at the back of someone’s house. The one star was for collection at airport as they did take us back to the airport as we refused to take the vehicle due to all the hidden costs. I went to enterprise at the airport and got great deal on a car rental who accepted my insurance and only charged for tolls if I went through any once the vehicle was returned.

On last Saturday when I returned car to they branch on Thessaloniki airport their employee magically find under plastic bumper 2cm long scratches (it was night and heavy rain) and she force me to confirm it was my fault. I would like to mention she crouch to find this scratch. When I've checked car on the pick up date I checked lacquered parts, not scratches under plastic bumper which are not visible from normal standing position. Also car was not clean and bottom part of bumper was covered by mud and dust.
She prepare in 5 min valuation which cover fixing of this bumper including painting works on black plastic!!!!! She blackmail me if I don't pay she call for police. She don't want to drop me back to airport without payment. Because I was in my wife and we have option to start argue with her, miss flight , buy new tickets for flight to London and possibly night in hotel I decide to pay 335.00E
I got insurance for this policy but from other company and they don't know about this, than I will have refund for my expenses. Anyway, point is if you don't buy insurance with them this company will robbed you under false accusation.

Carq Tirana Airport. No problem at the handover. The person took time with me to go through the car scratches dents mileage tank and where not to travel in Albania. It wasn't the car but a similar, so no problem there. The person was helpful and wasn't pushy. The return was similar and the chap looked around and confirmed no issues. They charge extra after 9pm.

My recent experience with CarQ Rent a Car in FLL was an absolute nightmare. I booked a rental car through Wisecars, and my voucher clearly stated CarQ would be the provider. However, upon arrival on November 22nd, I was shocked to be redirected to a different company altogether - Miami Life Cars. This company had countless negative reviews online, exposing their deceptive practices. It felt like a classic bait-and-switch tactic, and I was immediately suspicious.
The situation only deteriorated from there. Despite presenting all required documentation, including my valid third-party liability insurance through Progressive, Miami Life Cars refused to honor my reservation. They aggressively pushed their own overpriced insurance coverage, completely disregarding my existing policy. I even contacted Progressive twice, and their agents confirmed to the rental company that my insurance was valid and transferable. Yet, Miami Life Cars remained unmoved, their greed clearly overshadowing any sense of customer service.
To add insult to injury, their promised shuttle service was a joke. We waited for two excruciating hours, and our calls to the company went unanswered. In the end, we had to contact our hotel and even their subsidiary in Greece just to get a ride.
It's clear to me that CarQ Rent a Car is not a company you can trust. They misrepresented themselves on the Wisecars platform, leading me to believe I was dealing with a reputable provider. Instead, I was handed off to a shady company with predatory practices.
This whole experience has left me furious and disgusted. CarQ's deceptive tactics and their association with a company like Miami Life Cars is unacceptable. They are a disgrace to the car rental industry.
I strongly caution anyone considering renting from CarQ Rent a Car to think twice. They are dishonest and unreliable. Save yourself the trouble and choose a reputable company that values its customers and operates with transparency.
Update: WiseCars they said they were unable to get their partner CarQ/MiamiLifeCars to collaborate, but decided to refund our money. I would still not use any of these companies in the future.

In May I booked a car from CarQ (which had good reviews) in Thessaloniki through Discovercars, from which I also purchased a "full coverage" insurance, paying with a Master Card debit card issued by BBVA and indicated among those accepted by the rental company.
When I arrived at the CarQ office (located in an isolated place and not served by public transport), the check-in clerk resolutely refused to proceed with the charge of the "security deposit" (and therefore to deliver the car to me), claiming that the card did not meet their requirements: the only alternative offered to me was to pay them an insurance of €140.00 for the 7 days of rental.
I should point out that I had chosen CarQ because it declared to accept the Mastercard debit card both for paying the rent and for paying the security deposit, with the only constraint that the name of the renter of the car appeared on the card. Condition satisfied by my card.
Unable to move and find alternatives due to obvious practical problems (I would have lost what I had already paid anyway), I reluctantly paid: at that point, magically, the card that had been rejected shortly before had become "acceptable" by CarQ.
When I returned home, I contacted the ECC (European Consumer Center Italy) in Bolzano, which I had contacted with satisfaction in the past, and explained them my case.
Here, Dr. Rebecca Berto treated it with great availability and competence and, actively involving her colleagues from the Greek office of the ECC, obtained from CarQ a refund of the total amount I had been unduly charged: I doubt that without her intervention I would have been able to achieve anything.
As for the other parties I contacted about my case, I obtained a fair amount of availability from Discovercars and instead I rate the assistance provided to me by BBVA as terrible.
To conclude, I will prudently stay away from CarQ in the future.

They have undercover politics about deposit ( not shown directly, but small somewhere in the back of the paper- 750 euro).
When telling, the lady was angry saying not to give me the car (even the place to take the car is far away from airport), because I said I will not recommend them.
When I return the car ( Someone broke the little window right side and took all the things inside) they charged me 350 euro for this.
And the atitude during the process was like they are doing me a favor taking so little and renting me the car! Awfull experience, never again!

Good communication via WhatsApp ensuring that we knew where to find the office (it's a little tucked away at the back). Vehicle was pretty new with low mileage. Return was simple and quick.
I have my own separate insurance for the waiver - as with any rental company they wanted to sell their own but there was no pressure when I explained I had it covered. Picked up in the dark making inspection difficult, but they said if I found any damage in the morning I could report it to them.
Rented directly from the airport for 10 days. Good experience.

Be very careful if not paying for the full insurance package. We were charged 350 Euros for one faint scratch that would easily have polished out, and which was difficult to see in full daylight let alone at night when we picked up the car.
I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but it's hard not to conclude we were scammed.

On October 12 we arrived to Santorini with a 2 hours delay (FR1232 Delayed flight) and rushed to the CarQ office to pick our car. The lady clerk was agressive to us because we were late and in the meantime she gave the car I have booked to someone else, saying that flight delays are problem of the customer. Obviously nervous she claimed that we should be patient until they can find a car for us and claimed a gurantee of 750 Euros refundable after one month! I could hear them asking deposits of just 400 Euros from the previous customer.
I did not accept the rudness of the emploee and called the ditector who did not provide any solution. In a few words I believe the CarQ rentals are the worst car rental I have ever experienced. Although I have paid for the car I did not get it from this agent. Instead I rented a car from another agent.
Never again CarQ!
