An absolute disgrace and abhorrent customer services!

This company is an absolute disgrace and the service they offer is well below par and unacceptable. I would not recommend them in any instance. I am more than happy to answer any questions any one has in this regard. Please see my complaint regarding the service they provided for my wedding this March 2018 and the follow up customer service they provided.

I originally book 3 cars to take me, my bridesmaids and some guests across London from my hotel to my wedding venue. I also booked a coach to return me and my guests from the venue to my hotel in the evening. Never before has something so simple been so difficult. The first issues began to occur when I noted that, unlike they appear to advertise (including the misleading advertising below) Cars for Stars don't actually provide any of "their" cars. They are in fact a broker agency who sends your booking out to the numerous suppliers they work with in order to provide the service you requested. I therefore ended up with four different companies supplying the four vehicles I booked. This in itself was a hassle because Cars for Stars definitely do not take any management responsibility and after taking your deposit and sending over the details of each individual company they basically step back and do nothing. I was therefore left calling around the different suppliers on the lead up to my wedding day in order to ensure everything is in place. They claim that they call to confirm with the suppliers that they are on track to delivering the services a week before the big day, this can only be a lie as I am unsure how things could have gone so horrendously wrong if this was the case.

The next issue arose when I rang the coach supplier to pay the final instalment of the fee and confirm they were on track for my big day. There was no answer. I called continuously for a number of days and then called Cars for Stars to request their help. They told me they would call back. In their favour they did call back, but this is possibly the only positive I would take from this whole experience. Apparently the coach broker that was meant to supply our coach no longer had a vehicle available and simply didn't want to answer the phone to tell me this. Cars for Stars then called another coach supplier and apparently booked the coach. However, I was then left trying to get in touch with this supplier in the days before my wedding. I was only finally able to confirm his attendance and pay him late on the Friday evening before my wedding on the Sunday. I cannot explain how stressed this left me and how this absolutely ruined the lead up to my wedding especially in combination with the below. When the coach arrived on the evening the driver was not dressed in a suit as promised. He was exceedingly rude and stated that if we did not get in the coach immediately he would leave explaining that he wasn't even meant to be here and was only doing it as a favour. This meant that we were left with no time to say goodbye to any of our guests. The coach was extremely old, it was run down and had no heating which on an evening with temperatures as low as freezing (0 degrees Celsius) is not acceptable. The ride back to the hotel was horrendous and truly ruined the end of our evening. I was promised a professional chauffer and a modern luxury coach!

Next we come to the seven seater car I hired. I hired a Mercedes seven seater car to take my guests across London to the venue. After being told the coach company couldn't come I decided to call and check that all the other suppliers were still on track to arrive on the day. The company supplying the Mercedes however informed me that they were going to call me on the Monday before my wedding (less than a week before) to tell me that they did not have that car available. I was shocked. At no point were Cars for Stars there to support me (and later just blamed everything on suppliers). The supplier did however work with me to provide an alternative however not without some back and forth and a lot of stress on my behalf. I was worried they would not turn up on the day, but thankfully they did. I would note however that neither of the divers were dressed in any form of Chauffeuring uniform, they looked simply like Taxi drivers. They were however polite and kind, polar opposite to Cars for Stars.

The other car that was supplied by another company that arrived on the day was driven by a gentleman that was a credit to his company. Sadly the car that was supplied was old with ripped leather seats and a stale smoke smell. The gentleman was also not in a chauffer's suit as promised. Not what I expected for £650.

The final nail in the coffin for the booking was the fact that the Mercedes E Class I ordered for my bridesmaids simply did not turn up. I was left with no way to get my bridesmaids to the venue. I had to re-arrange the cars which then left my elderly grandmother, cousin, aunt and uncle hailing down a taxi. This taxi then proceeded to driver across the river Thames three times, get well and truly lost and then ask them to get out of the car some 25 minutes walk from the venue as he was lost. He even refused to look at the Google map that was showing him exactly where to go. Whilst I understand that Cars for Stars cannot control a taxi drivers ability to navigate London my guests would not have had to endure this if the car had been supplied as booked. My guests including my elderly Grandmother were forced to walk in freezing temperatures in the snow to the venue. My guests had no coats as they were dressed to walk the 2minutes from the hotel to the car and then from the car to the venue not to walk 25 minutes. They all worried they wouldn't make ti to my wedding and I was stressed and worried about this too. When they did arrive my Grandmother was physically sick and spent the rest of the day feeling unwell. I was left in tears. The saga however does not stop there. Cars for Stars e-mailed me the following morning before I had even had a chance to eat my breakfast to demand payment on behalf of the supplier from me. I was astounded. I had already paid the supplier and I was shocked that, in the knowledge that there were issues with the car not arriving, Cars for Stars would simply write a demand e-mail and not bother to pick up the phone to see what happened.

I obviously complained and requested my money back. My complaint was dealt with in an utterly disgraceful manner. The lady, who I will not name, has absolutely no customer service ability whatsoever. Despite the fact they were extremely happy to present me with a demand for cash she later explained that they were not a debt collection agency and so I should be requesting my refund from the seller. The issue however was this: Cars for Stars had given the supplier an address for collection, they claim that the postcode takes you to the correct collection point but the supplier claims that they were at the address provided by Cars for Stars. The argument was between Cars for Stars and the supplier. Cars for Stars happily informed me that I had booked for the correct pick up, not before trying to blame it on me and retracting when they saw that I had an e-mail to their agent with the exact booking details and a response e-mail with him confirming booking accordingly. Cars for Stars then stepped back and refused adamantly to deal with the complaint further. All the supplier would say was it was Cars for Stars fault and all Cars for Stars would say was that it was the suppliers fault. It was infuriating beyond belief. The supplier finally got exasperated with the situation and has agreed to refund me my money. Cars for Stars have done nothing, not even apologies. I had requested that someone pay the £80 taxi fare (which I provided a receipt for) as some form of compensation but evidently Cars for Stars don't think their customers are worth their time or a very small amount of cash. It was absolutely ridiculous. The amount of times the lady I spoke to try to pass the book to me was unbelievable... it was luck I had proof and had booked everything over e-mail and not the phone. The utter incompetence was astounding.

I have yet to receive any form of resolution from Cars for Stars. They simply do not car that they effectively ruined the run up to my big day and the day itself... they got their cash in the form of the deposits and then they evidently couldn't be bothered after that. My Grandmother was left ill after her experience and it ruined the mood for my guests for the whole day. They don't care. It is honestly the most appalling service I have ever experienced.. i could continue this post for days on end explaining all the abhorrent things I had to face when using this companies service but I fear it would be a waste of time. I just hope this message reaches people before they decide to waste their money utilising this companies services.

Oh and btw.... they appear to have various trading names including Regency. I don't quite understand why.

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE - TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

I booked a limo through Cars for Stars - 2 other companies were involved int he booking - transport broker group and Essex Limos. Absolutely terrible customer service. You are right, they take your money - but when things go wrong they fail to get back to you.

We had the car booked for 6pm pick up - the car did not arrive until 7pm. The driver advised he had been involved in another job and it had taken him longer to get to us than expected.

We had restaurant reservations booked for 7pm and other guests waiting for us there - so we were unable to change the time of the hire - thus we did not get the full 1 hour that we had booked and paid for in good faith. Just a short ride to the restaurant.

I have emailed Essex Limos who provided the limo and they have failed to respond to my emails - although they tell the broker they have. The transport broker group say they are just a booking agent and there is nothing they can do. Absolutely disgusting service and we paid for a service we never received.

AVOID AT ALL COST!!

AVOID AT ALL COST!!!
My husband and I booked our car for our wedding day with cars for stars, we paid the £679 for a Rolls Royce Phantom to pick me up on the morning of the weeding, deliver me to the church and then take myself and new husband back to the hotel where our reception was being held. We had several conversations with the call center before our big day confirming the booking, it was almost overkill we thought but ok they obviously like to be thorough or so we thought!

The day of our wedding arrived, the car was at my pickup point on time and looking lovely, the driver got a little confused with the right direction to go and ended up getting stuck in traffic – I was 25 minutes late for my wedding, but not a huge issue - it’s the brides prerogative to be late.
HOWEVER
after our lovely service, photos at the church we went to where the car had dropped me and IT WAS NOT THERE!! a little confused my husband called the call centre to be told it was back at the depo over an hour’s drive away! We had over 100 guests waiting for us at our reception and no car to get us there. After folding myself and very expensive wedding dress into the back of our photographer’s small car (the only person left with us at the church) we finally manged to get to our reception. We called the call center the next working day and advised them of what had happened to be told we had only booked a 1 way trip. We obviously said no it was 2 way and referred back to the calls we had where we confirmed the 2 way booking on the several calls the week before. We requested the calls all be listened to and gave cars for stars a 48hr period to do this. After not hearing anything from them for 2 weeks on returning from our honeymoon we then called them back to be told that there was no record of this request, we then gave them more time to listen to the calls. My husband then called the following day and spoke to ‘Laura’ who advised him the error was down to a system glitch on their side. So fault was admitted – great we will get our money back – or so you would think! No!! Communication continued daily between my husband; Laura and her boss, resulting in my husband asking for just half our £679 back which we though was fair as we did after all get ½ the service. BUT NO! all we have manage to recover is £305! Cars for stars reason for this is they are only the broker and they only had £180 of our money the rest was paid to the provider of the car. BUT OUR CONTRACT OF SERVICE IS WITH CARS FOR STARS not the company that provided the car. I spoke myself to Phantom cars the car provider who advised me that they thought it very strange that we would be paying £679 for a 1 way trip – just 6 miles! They called cars for stars themselves before our wedding to be told no it was just a 1 way journey. If after reading this you still chose to use this company – good luck getting back from wherever they leave you STRANDED!!!

Awful

1 year ago we have booked Rolls Royce Phantom for our wedding. The most important thing for us was that the car has to be colour BLACK. The agency asked us to pay £150 deposit to secure the booking and ensure that the car will be exactly what we are asking for.

3 days before our wedding I called to the agency to ask if everything is fine and car is still coming (because they haven't contact me at all until then), and they confirmed that all is good and vehicle will be waiting for me outside. Couple days after I received the call from the agency again asking me if nothing has changed and I still need a car! That shocked me and of course I said yes and was surprised how come they are asking me this again when it was all confirmed already.

The day has come. I came out outside and I saw the car was WHITE. I couldn't believe my eyes. I just hate this colour because for me it is just too tacky. The driver showed me the contract and it was black on white written that the vehicle is WHITE. This car supposed to be on our wedding pictures. We payed extra money for extra few hours but the mood was already ruined and we just sent him home. Just didn't want to see it.

Finally, we have asked for our money back (£650) and agent told me that they are only agents and they can't guarantee the colour when at the same time we have got the confirmation letter where is written that the car is booked in colour BLACK.

I don't recommend to use the services of this agency because you will never be guaranteed what you will get.

THIS COMPANY IS A DISGRACE AND YOU MUST …

THIS COMPANY IS A DISGRACE AND YOU MUST READ THIS BEFORE USING THEM AS I DONT WANT WHAT HAPPENED TO ME TO HAPPEN TO YOU ON YOUR WEDDING DAY. ALSO READ THE REPLIES TO THEIR BAD REVIEWS THEY ARE FLIPPANT, ARGUMENTATIVE AND RUDE AND MORE IMPORTANTLY THEY DO NOT OFFER ANY RESOLVE OR TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY.

I ORDERED A BENTLEY FLING SPUR IN JANUARY 2017 FOR MY WEDDING DAY ON 17TH JUNE 2017. I ASKED FOR A PICTURE OF THE CAR FOR CLARITY, I RECEIVED IT AND THE BOOKING WAS CONFIRMED, I REQUESTED A BOTTLE OF CHAMPAGNE AND WAS INFORMED THAT I HAD A CHAMPGE PACKAGE WHICH INCLUDED CHAMPAGNE AND RIBBONS ON THE CAR, I PAID THE DEPOSIT AND WAS SENT THE BOOKING FORM STATING THE CAR I ORDERED AND A CHAMPAGNE PACKAGE. £550.00 FOR 2 HOURS

ON THE DAY OF MY WEDDING THE DRIVER ARRIVED IN A DATED ROLLS ROYCE I ASKED WHERE MY BENTLEY WAS THAT I ORDERED THE DRIVER SAID YOU DONT NEED A BENTLEY THIS IS NICER AND WHEN I ASKED WHERE MY CHAMPAGNE WAS HE LAUGHED AND SAID WE DONT HAVE A LICENCE SO WE CANT SUPPLY THAT AND HE COMMENTED WE HAVE THESE PROBLEMS WITH CARS FOR STARS, I WAS SHAKING AND FELT SO UPSET, I WAS SO EXCITED TO HAVE THE BENTLEY WHICH I LOVE.

WHEN I ARRIVED AT THE REGISTRY OFFICE THE DRIVER SAID YOU NEED TO PAY THE REMAINING BALANCE IN CASH NOW, I HAD TO GET MY SON TO GO AND GET THE MONEY FROM MY HUSBAND TO BE, HOW ROMANTIC!!!!!

WHEN I RETURNED FROM MY HONEYMOON I CONTACED CARS FOR STARS AND EXPLAINED WHAT HAD HAPPENED, THE FRST PERSON I SPOKE TO SAID HE TAKES THE BOOKINGS AND COULDNT HELP ME BUT SAID HE WOULD PUT ME THROUGH TO CUSTOMER SERVICES, HE SAID IT WAS TERRIBLE WHAT HAD HAPPENEND BUT HE SAID HE KNOWS THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS AND THAT I SHOULD REALLY PUT IN A STRONG COMPLAINT.

WHEN I SPOKE TO A GIRL IN CS SHE WAS NOT INTERESTED AND SAID CONTACT THE COMPANY WHO PROVIDED THE CAR, I TOLD HER MY CONTRACT WAS WITH CARS FOR STARS AND I WROTE TO THEM GIVING THEM 14 DAYS TO RESPOND TO MY COMPLAINT BEFORE I TAKE THEM TO THE SMALL CLAIMS COURT, I RECEIVED NOTHING APART FROM NOT OUR FAULT AND BASICALLY SORRY BUT NOT INTERESTED.

I AM A COMPANY DIRECTOROF A SUCCESFUL BUSINESS BUILT ON CUSTOMER CONTACT, IN FACT AWARD WINNING FOR OUR REVIEWS FOR OUR SERVICE.

CARS FOR STARS. I HAVE LOOKED UP THE OWNERS OF THIS BUSINESS AND IF YOU WANT TO COMPLAIN YOU NEED TO ADDRESS CORRESPONDENCE TO THEM AS THE CENTRE WILL NOT ACTION ANYTHING.

YOU ARE A DISGRACE AND OFFER A SERVICE THAT DOES NOT EXIST, I WAS TOLD SEVERAL TIMES, I WOULD GET CHAMPAGNE AND THAT WAS A BLATANT LIE, THEY AGREE WITH EVERYTHING JUST TO GET ANOTHER BOOKING, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, THEY HAVE NO MORALS, EMPATHY AND DONT OFFER ANY RESOLVE.

Lack of good customer service

Me and 7 of my friends are looking forward to prom near the end of June and we're looking at transport. I found the CarsForStars website and I got an online quote for a white 300C (Baby Bentley) limo for £230 including a £55 deposit. We were over the moon that the price was so cheap and reasonable but I thought I'd ring up just to check.

When I rang up, no one answered. I waited 10 minutes and still no one answered. Instead, I sent them a message on their Facebook page at 7.30pm to double check the price. 24 hours later I still had not been contacted and we were anxious that we needed to get the transport booked soon, therefore I rang again and I spoke to one of the men who works for the company. I explained about the online quote I had been given and he told me that the prom season dates haven't been put on the website yet so the cost will go up and that he can tell me what the price would be if I want to know but that I might not like it. I told him I wanted to know the price and he put me on hold. The phone then cut off and so I rang back again 5 minutes later and spoke to another man who was shouting down the phone the whole time. He told me that it would be £550 with a £100 deposit. I told him that I'd ring back and let him know once I had discussed the price with others. He said "Well we do get booked up very quickly darling so don't come crying to me when you can't get the car that you want because we won't give it to you.". I was shocked at the rudeness of the tone of his voice and words he spoke.

A day later, someone finally replied to my Facebook message I'd sent to the company (2 days after sending the message) and was told that it would be £450 including the £100 deposit as the "online prices don't account for proms". So overall I have been given three different prices. It's as though they just make up the prices as they go along.

I replied to the message and said I will not be using their company for our prom transport as we have found somewhere else with a more reasonable price, they replied "You're more than welcome to book elsewhere, although if you did book a limousine for £230 for a prom, I can assure you this wouldn't turn up." which I felt was not a necessary comment.

If I had used the online quote and booked straight away for £230 then I would have had to pay an unexpected £320 when the transport arrived, or perhaps it would not have turned up at all however I am glad that I rang up because not only do I now know about their ridiculous price system, but I also know how impolite, offensive and careless the company is.

Although I cannot give an opinion on the transport and the service when driving, I do not recommend the company due to the lack of good customer service and organisation on the cost of transport.

Dear Rachael,

You made a booking online and due to an online issue the date of your event was not priced correctly due to a system error. Proms are the most expensive hire dates and our system had not picked up this information and therefore your hire was priced as a regular hire, not a Prom event.

Your booking came through and you were contacted immediately. You were advised of the system issue and immediately offered a refund. You refused a refund and stated you wanted the vehicle at the price quoted even though the price was nowhere near the cost of the actual hire you requested.

Unfortunately online system issues can occur and we are not able to see them straight away, as soon as the error was found as advised, you were immediately contacted.

Prices are subject to availability of the particular vehicle, if the price is given and then the vehicle becomes booked, we find the vehicle with an alternative operator who may charge a different price which is beyond our control. Prices are not made up as you claim but are given by the operator supplying the vehicle.

We are highly professional at all times and were simply advising you that the operator would not be able to provide a vehicle at such a low cost for such prestigious events.
You will find when you book a limousine for a Prom anywhere in the UK, the costs will be higher than that of a normal everyday hire.

As with all companies, all companies around the world experience online booking issues (if they have online booking facilities) It is completely impossible to never experience an online system issue, whilst every effort is made by our IT team to stop this, occasional there will be the unavoidable ones.
One example could be the supermarket giant advertising bulk nappy packs, normally £24.00 but a system issue caused them to be advertised at £2.00, they removed the advert immediately even though customers spotted the extremely low price and tried to purchase them, these things happen and they are beyond our control.

We do everything in our power that is humanly possible to sort out the issues and rectify them as best as we possibly can, however, we do not feel such false reviews or reviews left out of spite should be published.
Each response we reply is true and accurate to the events that occurred. We want all our customers to know that we appreciate all feedback but we will be honest with our replies when the review left is not true and is left as the outcome was not what the person wanted.

Out of the thousands of customers we book every year, we have a complaint ratio of less than 1% and our service continues to improve strongly. We are grateful to all of our customers and wish them the best and hope they enjoy their hires.

We are sorry you felt the need to write this rancorous review.

We hope you manage to find what it is you are looking for in regards to your event. We are always here to help should you need it.

Regards

First Class Service. Thank you very much Stefan.

I phoned round a few car places for my Son's School Prom and spoke to Stefan at Cars for stars. He was very kind and helpful. He told me about a wonderful, white Mercedes with a black roof that they had. I booked it and then was given the number of Chauffeuring Express who had the car and would be taking our Son and his friend. They were very friendly on the phone when we sorted out the details. The car was fantastic. Very clean and smart. The driver was lovely. He played a Happy Birthday CD as requested, let the boys play the music they wanted, gave them a drink and took them for a drive. He waited for us to get to the Prom Venue and drove up with them. What a first class job. He made the boys feel Special. Thank you very much. You helped to make our Son's Birthday and Prom brilliant. We would certainly recommend you and use you again if needed.

AVOID

Upon booking with this company before any money had been paid we was told if we changed our minds at a later date we would recieve a full refund of our deposit of 55 but we would loose the £10 admin fee well that has not been the case we cancelled the limo with more then 28 days in advance and they are refusing to refund the deposit these people seemed nice and genuine from the start but do not trust them they have now emailed me to say I am liable for the full amount of the cost of service which I have not received and before ringing another company and telling them about who I was going to be using before they told me they do not have ANY cars at all they use 3rd parties to give the service to people I have read no end of bad reviews about this company since then after searching rigously over the Internet before making accusations all found to be true one review said they paid the full amount and on the day of their wedding no car turnt up they had previous reviews of people stating they phoned them the day before saying the car or limo has a flat tyre and they can't find a replacement then refused to pay the money back the people do not use these people I have had to cancel my bank card because of this as they have said I am liable for the rest of the cost even though I've cancelled within plenty advance the people are rude over the phones and emails and not only that before I found all this out I rang to pay the full amount remaining luckily I didn't I was told the card machine wasn't working and I could pay cash I said no I'm not paying cash I want the money to be traceable the guy then sent me a text after coming off the phone with his own personal bank details to transfer £395 to that account obviously I didn't as if it was a legitimate company they would have a business bank not a personal bank account of one person they also said they were in Lincolnshire upon booking as well which isn't far from us but then after speaking on the phone to them again on a different occasion they said Cardiff do not trust these people they take your money under the impression your going to receive a service then they leave you with no transportation as they have done to many other hundreds or thousands or even millions of people as this is a worldwide organisation in the uk! They also got the details wrong from my transportation so I called them not even 2 minutes later after receiving the email to rectify this and then they told me I had only told them from my address to the registry office and then back to my address again even though I gave them the postcode for my reception and it was on the booking email but the trip said single trip honestly steer well clear do not let them ruin your special occasion like they could have mine!

Dear Rebecca

We are sorry to see you leave such a false review.

Firstly, we have never promised you would only lose the booking fee, the payment is strictly non-refundable upon cancellation and our cancellation policy is very clearly stated, in black and white, in our terms.

If you had chosen to pay by cash you would have received a receipt, as I am sure you do when you pay by cash in a store, however it was yourself being extremely difficult and finding faults in everything you were advised to get out of paying for the vehicle.

Some operators are family run businesses, they are required to have the correct licences from VOSA, which we check regularly however they are not required by law to have a business bank account. Some operators do this as a hobby and as such there is no law stating they must have a business bank account. Plus, business bank accounts are only given to people who pass certain criteria so please do not assume because someone does not have a business bank account that they are not genuine hard-working people who are simply trying to make an income for their families.

We checked your booking, it states you booked a 3 hour continuous journey and then at the end of the three hours the vehicle would leave, you did not book a return service. We repeatedly advised you of this but you refused to listen.

As per our last correspondence to you, cancellation terms are applicable.

We are sorry you felt the need to write something negative and false.

Amazing services

Been looking to book a supercar self drive for my wedding, got quotes from different companies, as I live in Northern Ireland I knew this wouldn't be cheap, got in touch with a fella called kyle Williams, quoted me for an extra day cheaper than any other. He was always willing to help and explained everything so well, understood everything that was happening. Would recommend to anyone and especially kyle who can not do enough always offering help and support, would just like to say a massive thank you to Kyle Williams. 11/10
