Robbers, avoid

Stay away.
Like many other customers in 2025, I was charged for windscreen damage which allegedly happen during my rental, 1mm stone chip.
A damage to the windscreen was already included on a pickup report, but during return inspection, which was super detailed, the agent claimed he found a new damage.
Was charged 200 straight away.
The Customer Service refused my appeal.

Been renting 15 years now, never experienced anything like this. And you can tell by the agent behavior (body language), that he wanted to find anything to charge you.

Absolutely awful experience with Carwiz! I rented a car in perfect condition, returned it the same way, and yet they charged me £620 for scratches that were NOT there when I dropped it off. It’s clear they try to scam customers with bogus damage claims. The staff was rude and completely unhelpful when I tried to dispute it.

This company is dishonest, and their customer service is a joke. £620 for nothing—an absolute rip-off! If you value your money and don’t want to be scammed, avoid Carwiz at all costs! I wish I had read the reviews before booking—lesson learned.

I have been renting cars in Poland for the past 20 years. CARWIZ – twice. Never again. Do not trust this company; they are only there to scam you and steal from you. If you purchase extra insurance – everything is fine, no feedback, no damage. If you don't purchase extra insurance – suddenly, the car is "damaged" even though it was never checked upon return! **Stay away from this company.**

Very bad experience at Carwiz Krakow Airport: (KRA01-25-1299) very long wait for the car on arrival. a ridiculously low price of 18 euros for 5 days rental, then an extremely high surcharge for 2 days Cross Bord (Czech Republic) of 80 euros ! A few hours after drop off at airport, already an email with damage claim of 170 euros for a scratch on the rear bumper that was certainly not there when car was returned at 3 a.m. There photo shows a little scratch on a durty bumper while we had the car completly cleaned and it had not been raining.
CarWiz looks like pure SCAM when hiring at very low cost and after every return making huge profit by sending out demage claims... (smells like insurance fraud)

Scammers!!!! I also wish I’d read the reviews before renting a car from these scammers!!! Rented a car to collect at Łódź. No office at Łódź and was advised to wait outside the airport and collect the car from the roadside!! Should have realised by then this was the start of the scam!!
Dropped off car as agreed but advised to leave it in the parking lot and leave keys in centre console as something had come up and agent couldn’t meet us. LO and behold a few hours later there’s 2 emails advising me of OVER PLN 2000 charged to my credit card in addition to the £900 taken as damage deposit. Apparently there was a small dent about 3mm wide and a chip about 1mm and a fine scratch on the front bumper (I note they charged another customer for this same scratch in another review reporting a similar scam on this site).

Please please avoid. I’ve raised a case with my credit card company, Booking.com and next I’m going to report them to the authorities for insurance fraud!! They have to be stopped and dealt with as this gives Poland a BAD name. My wife and in-laws are VERY embarrassed as well as angry that a fellow countryman should conspire to defraud her husband visiting their country and giving Poland a bad image. Thanks to these idiotic cowboys!!!

Update #1.
So as per Carwiz’s invitation, I emailed them last week 17/03/25 asking for a refund of my money and explaining why I was entitled to my refund. I explained that they were fraudulently charging me for damage they’d already tried to charge someone else as well! To date….RADIO SILENCE!! They did not even respond to say, thank you and we are looking into it!!

These are the actions of SCAMMERS!!! I will continue to expose them. Next stop is OLAF!!!

Scammers! I rented a car in Wroclaw Airport through booking.com, returned the car in perfect condition. Then they send me a photo of water on the roof and charge for 600€. Why these scammers are allowed on booking.com and why they are allowed to do business in airport?

I had an excellent experience, no problems at all! - it was fast professional efficient and convenient - what else to expect :)!! Visits were also very very reasonable! Wishing you the best - I wish I knew how good of a company it is and wouldn't use somebody else recently (where sadly I did not have such a great experience, with them)

Hired a car from wizz car Katowice airport 20th-25th feb awful experience no 1 showed up at the terminal as stated to pick us up, after returning car the rude member of staff said he can’t check the car because it is a little bit dirty? Never had this before the times I’ve hired cars. Only today the 14th march I’ve found out that the deposit they took 1070.84 will not be taken of my credit card due to damages that were already on the car. Seems to me wizz car at Katowice are building a reputation for this reading all other reviews some bloke made a review on 1st march Toyota Corolla most likely the exact same car I had. These cow boys need shutting down asap

Would give zero stars but not allowed. Scammers like no other company. I hired a car from them, Toyota Corolla cross reg number KK.. As by other reviewers had exactly the same experience. I was charged over PLN2000.00 for the damage that was on the car already. Funniest of all, report was stating, damage on the bumper while picture was showing rear passenger doorstep indent. I asked for clarification, heard back that team member made mistake when completed report??? Avoid at any cost.

Don’t give a credit card on file I was scammed for over 1000 euro as the booth operator at the airport terminal in Rzeszow deducted over 1000 euro in small amounts at a time until my card was declined

Recommend Avis or any of the other companies there

Carwiz Car Rental Gdansk Airport.Advisor Seweryn Was near desk when I arrived.All service on top level.I didn’t expect it’s gonna be like that cause I had lot of different experiences with other companies on same Airport but this time everything was great.Small problems with system has been sorted out just like that ….5/5 .Would Recommend to everyone.Thank U again and I’ll see You in future.😀

These guys are scammers. Avoid. Just pay that bit extra for Hertz, Avis etc. The truth is carwiz will be more expensive ultimately anyway.

Absolutely awful service, at the beginning of my trip I've had to wait at the reception desk for 20 mins before somebody finally decided to show up. They have charged me 175 zloty for cleaning the car which was never mentioned no pictures to prove anything. I've spoken to their customer service and they're useless repeating and contradicting them selves with everything they say. The have rented cards from various companies in Poznan and this was by far the worst experience, absolute scammers, I wish I have read reviews before i had made the booking with them. The car was clean when we returned it yet they charged me and not even let me know by email, phone call or letter, I only realised by checking my credit card account. Please stay away from these scammers.

Update 04 March 2025:
After my last post, I received a long-awaited email asking for my card details, and this morning I noted the payment of the amount due in my account.

I will leave the assessment of this company's services to the readers of this post. I will not use it again.

Today is 23 February 2025, still no response from Carwiz.

It is 16 November and still no response.

Update:
On 8 October I sent the last email to the indicated address. As I expected, still no response/reaction from the CarWiz website.

After landing at the Goleniów airport (03/07/24), it turned out that there was no car for us anywhere nearby. After over an hour of searching and waiting, when I finally got through, I was informed that the car would not arrive due to traffic jams and a lack of drivers, and that I should rent a car from another rental company. Since all other rental companies were already closed, we decided to travel to Szczecin by bus.

During the same phone call, we agreed that I would pick up the car from the Carwiz office in Szczecin the next morning.
When picking up the car, I was informed that I would be refunded the amount overpaid for one day.

After returning the car to your office, however, I did not see the refunded amount on my account.

22 days and 2 emails later and I am still waiting for a refund. I definitely do not recommend using this company's services.

Update 04 Marca 2025:
Po moim ostatnim wpisie, otrzymałem długo oczekiwanego emaila z prośbą o dane mojej karty, a dziś rano zanotowałem wpłatę należności na moim koncie.

Ocenę uslug tej firmy pozostawiam czytającym ten wpis. Ja już nie skorzystam.

I kolejny update:
Dziś jest 23 Lutego 2025, nadal bez żadnego odzewu z Carwiz.

Jeszcze jeden update:
Jest 16ty Listopada i nadal bez żadnej odpowiedzi.

8go Października wysłałem ostatniego maila na wskazany adres. Jak się spodziewałem, nadal bez jakiejkolwiek odpowiedzi/reakcji że strony CarWiz.

Po wyladowaniu na lotnisku w Goleniowie (03/07/24), okazało się, że nigdzie w pobliżu nie ma dla nas zamówionego auta. Po ponad godzinie szukania i oczekiwania, gdy się w końcu dodzwoniłem, otrzymałem informację, że auto nie dojedzie z powodu korków oraz braku kierowców, a także, że mam sobie wypożyczyć auto z innej wypożyczalni. Ponieważ wszystkie inne wypożyczalnie były już zamknięte, zdecydowałismy się na podróż do Szczecina busem.
Podczas tej samej rozmowy telefonicznej, umówiliśmy się, ze odbiorę auto z biura Carwiz w Szczecinie następnego dnia rano.
Podczas odbioru auta, zostałem poinformowany, że zostanie mi zwrócona kwota nadplacona za jeden dzień.
Po oddaniu auta do Panstwa siedziby, jednak nie odnotowałem zwróconej kwoty na moim koncie.

22 dni, i 2 emaile później i wciąż czekam na zwrot. Stanowczo nie polecam korzystania z usług tej firmy.

I rent cars for more than> 40 years (Avis/Hertz) and wanted to try something else. Stupid enough. Although I was adviced to make a film of the car (which I did), they did not look at all at this upon return of the car. I had to wait 15 minutes - I was not there to have a look too, so cannot check what he did - and out of nowhere suddenly a lot of damage was discovered..?! More than 600 euros! First time in 40 years I had to pay for damage, which I really did not make myself. I am sure nothing happened during the trip, but had to pay it, as my creditcard was blocked as well. I read in the reviews a lof of stories like this and would like to warn future customers: just pay some more and avoid this company. PS Carwiz: please do not send me your standard ‘’apologies’’ as you do on every negative review here, I know I can contact your customer service, but that makes no sense.

Booked this car rental through RYANAIR, won't do that again.... anyway, arrived as RZESZOW Airport in Poland. Found the desk on 3rd floor. Staff were fine, provided me all the usual documents. I arrived after dark and was told their colleague had been out to the car and photographed the vehicle noting all the existing damage.
I walked out to the car and could nt see any major damage. It was dark. Only light was from distant carpark lamps.
I took my usual photos of the car panels, glass and wheels.
The following morning I washed the car as it was given to me dirty, could see several tiny little scratches all over the car. This was clearly all known about as the guy told me, right.... 🙄
Anyway, upon the return I took the same photos, full fuel tank and it was clean inside and out.
A few days later I'm emailed and told the car had 1 new scratch near the fuel tank door. Rubbish, it's been parked in my families yard all week with very little use. They changed my credit card 390 euro and there is nothing I can do about it.
Fortunately I can claim on my extra insurance i took out but when I asked for the damage report and photos they had some trouble supplying it.
They are a scam company. When the photos did finally arrive on 1st March 2025, I compared them with my photos. Well I can't prove it 100% but I'm sure 95% it's a different car. These people should be given a wide birth. Mark my words, a cheap deal that looks really cheap is really cheap for a reason. They will be charging you an extra £350.

I rented through CarFlexi midsize car with automatic gear for 13 days in Poland, Katowice Airport. The price was so low, that I initially thought it's a scam. But no! Everything was legit and perfect. The car has been delivered by Car Wiz company. Their office is off terminal - you call them and a driver comes immediately to pick you up. The Car Wiz employees are professional and kind, car clean and up to contractual features. There is a BP gas station and an well priced automated car wash on site - 50 m from Car Wiz office - so that there is no problem with returning a full tank and clean car back. The car return was smooth and fast, employee looked at the car around, switched on the engine and that's it. No any attempt to put on you imaginary car paint scratches, as you can sometimes read in the internet. The Car Wiz employee released deposit on my credit card immediately, without ant delay. Now, three days later, I can see this money amount return on my card as "pending". Asked Car Wiz employee how my rent price was SO good for my pocket and he told that "it may depend on the year season and/or low demand" (it was mid-February 2025). So maybe in other time of the year the price could be higher, but I was simply amazed! It was the best car rental ever in my life! Thank you, CarFlexi and Car Wiz ❤️.
